It was officially adopted as the national anthem of the Republic of Poland in 26 February 1927. Written by Józef Wybicki in 16-19 July 1797. One of the songs strongly influenced by "Poland Is Not Yet Lost" is "Hey Slavs", a former national anthem of Yugoslavia.

i was born in ireland but i feel good passion for poland becoz i have grandparents on my dads side and my granny is polish on my mums side. she is still alive and doesnt speak very much english, and i never really learnt polish for some reason but we have great relationship and i can understand her polish humour.

if you refer to the Yugoslavian anthem then I can tell you the text is different but, melody is very identic. I as half Polish im very proud of that othr slavic nations used Polish anthem melody in their own Anthem ;)
