  • My absolutely by very far favourite dance companies. I'll love to dance with them one day. May God continue to prosper them. Thanks go to the late alvin ailey for having and responding to the vision that birthed this company and to Ms. Jamison for carrying on the legacy and not the torch is being passed to another don't quite remember the name.Yes God Bless Alvin Ailey

  • the gorgeous thing in the chair at about 1:04 is Nycole Ray in choreography for the Dallas Black Dance Theatre by Christopher Huggins...just an FYI

  • and..... its not in harlem its on like 52nd st. and 8 or 9th avenue in manhattan.

  • Actually, Alvin Ailey predates Alonzo Kings

Lines, in fact, Alonzo trained at Ailey's dance company so Alonzo was influenced by Ailey and not vice versa

  • Ailey's dance company is located in Harlem, but it does have white people and they are far more represented than black people are in regular American ballet companies!

  • @MySuicideValentines Alvin Ailey only prerequisite for acceptance was in fact talent because of his early upbringing in Texas and experience of racial inlorerance. I personally agree that is ideology best demonstrates how we (human race) base our attitudes of each other !

  • What lines, what grace. I love this dance company.

  • Does Alvin Ailey has white people at all?

  • actually yeah. go to the company website. they have profiles for the dancers....

  • Hahaha, I know, right??

  • yes there are.
