are you Fucking retarded?? Wolfie has no stage presence at all cannot play bass any better than any other 16 year old in a garage band AND HE NAILED THE VOCALS? What Vocals???? Van halen Sucks and have never had any Good Vocals
there is a sharp difference between having a great voice and being comparable to michael anthony. this is not a fanboy rant, i saw them at their last tour and loved it. wolfie's performance was stellar. not just 'stellar for a 16 year old' either.... but with that aside lets please sober up a bit and acknowledge that the lack of michael anthony's backing vocals can never be replaced. substituted to the level of satisfactory? maybe. replaced? hell no

I feel bad for Wolf.....he has a cokehead whore for a Mom and an egotistical prick for a Dad and his best friend is wildman Diamond Dave........kinda makes you wonder how he grew up so normal.......keep rockin', Wolf-Man.
yeh, but how many of those 16 year olds would have the balls to get up in front of 10,00 people and play with one of the greatest rock bands of al time and try to compete with the huge ego of roth, the pressure because of your fathers talent and the shoes you have to fill because of your predecessor, think about that.....
yeh, i agree with the resources thing, but the separation between the good ones and the bad ones comes when the pressure is on, and the pressure is definetly on wolfie
@logeybear5150 There were no egos on that tour..I'm sure Eddie made that clear and that this tour, the star would be Wolfie...except for when dad sends Wolfie to his room. :)
got tickets website had seats listed for most of the tour including florida... i think the cheapest were in the 200.00 range - so so seats like 300 and up... near front and stage 1000 to 3500 or more..... but hey its VAN-HALEN .. best band ever period.. maybe the big tour was too much stress for eddie... they should do some cool clubs like hard rock or house of blues in orlando , then maybe a few big outdoor shows in the summer
yeah, Ed has alot on his plate, when i saw them, things were a lot simpler, 1981 -it was the Meanstreets/Fair Warning Tour, Ed's prob worn out & tires a lot quicker now. hey he sounds good, Wolfie sounds okay, not sure what to think of Roth.
but he was always a showman 1st, then a vocalist, so alot of people appreciate that there might not be many more chances to see this legendary Band, in any formation, let-alone one so close to its roots.. btw we lucked out.. our tix were $5 each
ANY seat was a great seat, just being there. But we were all over the Garden anyway. No one cared where we stood. It was one big fuckin party. Watch my other vids, they're taken from different seats. It was AWESOME.
Saw the Wolfman up front at Greensboro 2nd row. Even at the second show he was nervous but he nailed the vocals! This is awesome. They should change the set list and have him belt out "On Fire" and "Hear about it Later."
LOL....On Fire. That might be pushin it, for him. I think he could handle Hear About It Later. The only dissapointment to me was that they didn't have that one on the setlist. Maybe next time!!!!
screw anyone that has any thing bad to say about wolfie. 16 years old & handling what he is handling, unheard of. And the idiots that say that the backups are piped, are probably the same idiots that think 9-11 was a conspiracy
Woe! Hold the phone; Wolfie's vocals are adequate for the most part. They're not piped in nor should they be. You gotta remember that Michael provided the most soaring, dominating backing vocals around for over 25 years! Most 35 year olds couldn't touch him. Let Wolfgang enjoy the experience. For a 16 year old he's making out fine.
@andropoulis Unheard of? Hardly.. People may write them off as a pop boy band.. but the Jackson 5 were a totally self contained group... with Jermaine Jackson handling FAR more complex bass lines.. LEAD vocals as well as harmonies.. AND choreography... and he was doing it from the time he was 13 years old. As far as the backing vocals being piped in... I DEFINITELY hear other voices in the mix. I'm pretty sure it's a mix of Micheal Anthony and Wolfgang.
The harmonies on Dance are hardly operatic style. Wolfie is probably not a natural singer but the range and hi keys were the big question. On other posts he sounds a little drony, like a 16 year old playing for a high school band. MA's tonality and range are insane and no one expected Wolfie to match up note for note with him. The kid's competent and for this tour, that's enough.
Being there and hearing it live, he did a WAY better job than I anticipated from hearing these Youtube videos. People need to go to this show and just party! The only negative thing I can say about Wolf is his lack of stage presence, which wasn't even that bad. They rocked!!!!
the crowd sings better

Anyone who thinks there isn't a harmonizer on the vocals and auto tune is crazy. Wolfie may or may not sing good, but this is harmonizer city.

Yeah, I figured there was no way some 16 year kid (night after night) was doing those high Michael Anthony harmonies.

alot of 16 year old kids are as good and probably better than wolf now that the internet has made it so accesable to gather info on how to play.

I am sick to think they have their claws in their brains.I have done my best for them to hear the finer pounts in music,Zappa VH Vai Satriani, Mozart.
As guitar player myself, its very important to me that they understand music isnt marketing.
