In addition, while global warming is not a farce, the claim that humans actually have had an effect is still just that, a claim. I say that we wait until those claims are substantiated by science (they are NOT yet), to engage in economy-devastating policy like Kyoto, which will have a negligible effect upon global warming anyways (.07 degrees C).

While he is incredibly wasteful in means of travel, accomodations, etc, the benefits largely outweigh the costs. F/ex. he has played a large role in shutting down coal mines in China. Just one of these mines switching to alternative energy forms is the same as wiping out an neighborhood's entire carbonfootprint.

That's actually incorrect. Al Gore is doing next to nothing about China. Gore proposes a moratorium on building power plants in the US, letting the Chinese develop a first class energy system, leaving us in the dust.

Alternative energy may be the way to go, but its not economical yet- it will when people want it to be and invest in the technology. Until then, remember that the majority of the global warming hype is a farce.

I didn't mean to vote down. Good post. Alt energy is not popular because it is not a good alternative, technically speaking. Just laws of physics. Oil has a much larger power density. Nuclear is even better.
