  • it sounds just like a string bass or cello. that's so cool.

  • I am a middle schooler, and can easily play long notes. They are a lot easier than you would think! :)

  • Play 5 notes, Breathe, Play 5 notes, Breathe, Play 5 notes, Breathe... And repeat :)

  • Really good tone, but your phrasing is moderately terrible. I understand such a huge instrument takes lots of air to play (being a euphonium player myself), but take them in different places.

  • i cant image the lowest note on that monster.

  • wueeeena,.,.,.,-.-.-.,-.,-.

  • I think I would need CPR after holding a half note on this thing.

  • tuba nerd lo freakin l

  • I wanna listen to a subcontrabass tuba play. xD

btw you take ALOT of breaths!

  • You must have lungs the size of olympic swimming pools to play that thing.

  • my friend plays tuba and case is heavy... I wonder how big that case is..

  • dont tell me there's a contrabass flute

  • @Roguesaxophone57

You should see the subcontrabass flute.

  • contrabass is Bb or CC tuba.

  • is a contrabass tuba even possible!!!!!!!?????

  • contrabbass tuba is only a Bb Tuba.....not a U.F.O........

  • Ew...

  • Bravo!

  • No your thinking of the sub-contrabass tuba. A contrabass tuba is keyed in CC or BBb, the BBb tuba is in the same key as a sousaphone.

  • @SuperBowserWalter How about YOU Google it.

  • Breathee niggaa!

    haha badass

  • dude tuba takes a lot of breath so contra bass tuba?? a lot!! imagine the subcontrabass flute.... SO MUCH DARN BREATH!!!

  • just when you thought an instrament couldn't get any bigger

  • For the record he does very well on this instrument... just for this song his breathing technique wasn't the best but so what not like I can even play ANY type of tuba so yea...

  • Makes the high notes I can pull out on a trumpet sound even higher... O_O

  • it wasn't good to me because of your poor breathing technique

  • I'd love to see you play a contra-bass tuba with a proper breathing technique.

  • it's sorta like giving a normal tuba extra testicles.

  • Nice Hair

  • AIR MAN! TAKE A BIG BREATH! Right at the beginning it'll be a lot easier

  • We need more giant contrabass tubas in symphony and philharmonic orchestras around the world to enhance the low range of their brass sections. How about tubas keyed in BBBBb, EEEEb or FFFF which could be considered 'hypercontrabass tubas' or 'suboctocontrabass tubas'?

  • There's no need for such instruments because a person's lips can only buzz so low. I am pretty experienced playing Tuba and the lower I can get to is pedal Ab/G. If want more power from a Tuba, increase the bore, and especially the bore as it expands into the throat and bell (e.g. after the valves).

  • @Justintime4math what if someone with a really big mouth played on a bigger mouthpiece. I reckon they would be able to play lower

  • @pipamusa there would be some variance, but nothing to warant making a whole different instrument, fingering wise a BBb Tuba with 4 valves (which is rather common) can get to pedal C (32' C on Organ) and I don't find even as low as pedal Ab/G that the mouthpiece's size is an inhibition to playing low.

  • For the record, this isn't a Doors lick. It's from "Leyenda" by Isaac Albéniz.

  • how low can this thing go

  • Whoa. That is a lot bigger than my Baritone. xD

  • how much lower is this than the normal tuba

  • That is a regular tuba

  • Good tone. Try some dixieland jazz.

  • thats a rather large tuba

  • RaiderEleven, yeah right, big expert has discovered circular breathing, lets here ya cb and play a scale, dumbass

  • no tienes ni puta ide

    pegat un bac

  • Circular breathing techniques might be better than the old huff and puff which sounds arkward. Just a thought, but takes lots of practice to achieve.

  • That's actually a lick from a composition by Isaac Albeniz called 'Asturias'.

  • Ordinary Tuba = Contrabass tuba, in Bb or C. Bass Tuba is in F, above that (the Vaughan Williams concerto is for Bass Tuba). Tenor Tuba is basically the same as a Euphonium. A Subcontrabass tuba is what 'slavereloaded' is thinking of.

    I guess I am a nerd.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah ill buy it i play every brass instrument even though the thing is probably about 2 feet taller than me!

  • wonderful!!

  • Beautiful Contrabass Tuba version of Spanish Caravan !!!

    Good job !!!

  • Contrabass stands when you play it and you have to stand with it

  • dammit I wanna see a contrabass tuba

  • That's what you are looking at.

  • sounds like any old tuba; and id know. i play tuba

  • fab! man

  • smells farts here. i'm leaving :(

  • it sounds like the piece "asturias"..

  • The doors accually sort of remixed asturias for their song ;)

  • Is 6/4 the size of the instrument, like with violins?

  • Yes.

  • @tubadylan that cant be a contra bass because I know a bbflat tuba and its bigger than that

  • You need a tuba stand!

  • tuba is already a contrabass cornet...

  • BBb and CC Tubas are contrabass tubas, Eb and F tubas are bass tubas.

  • actually

it takes more air to play a flute

    and a tuba

  • woah that drains ur lungs like a bus full of smokers

    bad analogy....

  • nice!

  • Takes your breath away, doesn't it??

  • i dont usually post either except when people post comments about getting a life. >.> hmmm

  • have uve ever marched drum corp lol

  • nice!

  • Hahahaha Nice.

  • That must require a lot of breath!

  • That was fantastic.

  • woow

  • nice!
