Saludos
when bach was alive it wouldn't have sounded like this at all, so in a way I can't relate to it, not saying it's bad, why can't bach come BACH? to earth...
the well tempered Klavier. In the movie I´ve seen his son Friedemann asked: "Are there ppianos that are too hot or too cold? At the end of the Movie he and his whole family is working to make copper-prints of "the art of fuge (inspired by König of Preußen)" and could´t finish................
badly over-pedalled and messy...for you. I thought it was terrific. He is playing it on a piano and it is his choice to use the piano's capabilities to color the piece.

He's Austrian. He is a jazz pianist as well, so I think that's kind of his crossover stage presence.

I saw it too. After every piece he played he walked around and shaked out his right hand. Seems to me: he had a carpaltunnel syndrome.

@mrjlowitz Jazz (in most cases) and Bach are based on harmony. That's the connection.

Robert Schumann had numerous distinctions, especially his first review as a critic concerning Chopin when he said: "Hats off, gentlemen, a genius!"
------------------------------ -----
It is very difficult to have a pianist so good on Classical and on Jazz Music.
So lets try for Mr. Friedrich Gulda:
"Hats off, gentlemen, a Piano Genius".
