I don't know what you're referring to here in regards to Zim history. You SHOULD know that there was a type of apartheid in Zim (then Rhodesia) before their independence and people suffered greatly. Africa is indeed still suffering from the colonial period-they are locked out of decision-making in international financial institutions: World Bank, IMF, which are still dominated by US and Western Europe; not to mention WTO. No, you've got that wrong. There has not been any threat to Australia from Russia or China. During WW2 Japan bombed Darwin and midget subs entered Sydney Harbour and destroyed one of our ships. It's possible that without AMERICAN assistance Australia could have been invaded by JAPAN. Britain did not help Australia AT ALL. In their defence they were pretty preoccupied with their own war in Europe.

I don't know what you're referring to here in regards to Zim history. You SHOULD know that there was a type of apartheid in Zim (then Rhodesia) before their independence and people suffered greatly. Mugabe, while being party to defeat of that system, has spent the last 27 years improving his bank account at the expense of his country.

Rhodesia was NOT GOOD under Smith! Blacks lived in abject poverty and discrimination; meanwhile the small white population lived in mansions with servants laid on. South Africa has more infrastructure-this is nothing to do with the colour of anyone's skin-it has to do with economics and politics.

If 5 million blacks can be ruled by 200'000 whites on their OWN LAND, then theres obviously something wrong with the majority. Read 'Guns, Germs and Steel' by Jared Diamond for a readable account of how the few can conquer the many. It's truly not just a matter of numbers. Africa is indeed still suffering from the colonial period-they are locked out of decision-making in international financial institutions: World Bank, IMF, which are still dominated by US and Western Europe; not to mention WTO. Check it out so you can stop blaming the victims.

Zimbabwe had the highest employment rate and fastest growing economy in Southern Africa in the 1980's (ie. after independence)....perhaps you didn't realise this because you were just a child. You did not live under Smith's regime so you cannot know how it was.
