  • 9:15 Okay, really? Wouldn't the classy way to ask that be "Is she of child bearing age?" Cause . . .~Shutter~ NASTY!!! Mark, oh mark, oh mark . . . I love you, but EWE!!! On so many counts.

  • I do not like the way Thomas Howard observes Kathrine....as if she is Cattle or something! But I guess that's the way women were treated back then....

  • It'd be wierd comforting your executioner, wouldn't it?

Like walking the lethal injection doctor through the injection...

    (Shivers)

  • @KDVx3 if I had to have my head hacked off by a trembling 16 year old, I would try to talk him through it too!!!

  • Anne of Cleves was certainly not overweight, and was not as plain as this movie depicts her. She simply was not petite in the manner that Henry preferred his wives, and lacked any skill in the areas of foreign languages, music and dancing. And why is Norfolk, as he was also depicted in the movie Elizabeth with Cate Blanchett, this virile looking young stud? In actuality, he was nearly 70 years old at the time of Henry's marriage to Anne of Cleves!

  • @ligreekguy this film was never intended to be entirely historically accurate. robert aske was a lawyer, not a soldier, and he didnt raise a rebellion he was just a figurehead for it. the soldiers portrayed in this are also armed with crossbows and swiss pikes whereas english soldiers never used crossbows at any time - they used the warbow, and at this period in time were armed with billhooks not pikes. in reality henry viii and anne of cleves actually became friends after the annulment.

  • @ligreekguy Yeah, Norfolk is pretty hot in this, and in The Tudors. And to me he was the worst one; sacrificing two nieces like that and all his plotting and he was the only one to die in peace how do you like that...

  • @ligreekguy You are right that Mark Strong is too young to portray Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk but Christopher Eccleston was not too young to portray Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk who was the 3rd Dukes grandson and was executed at the age of 36.

  • @ligreekguy Because, Norfolk in this movie is portrayed by Mark Strong who is actually and in fact a virile looking young stud.

  • The tudors series portray the excutioner as being drunk and older.

    TV is never accurate!

  • @braveheart1779 Actually, I heard that that did happen. The executioner was drunk when he executed Cromwell. I can't remember where but I can look it up if you're interested.

  • @MusicalMaiden92 the executioner wasn't drunk henry deliberately chose an inexperienced teenage boy to do the job as he was supposedly so angry at his choice with anne of cleves, she was reported to smell bad and she wasnt very well schooled in english courtly ways, henry became fond of her a few yrs later as she had changed considerably with her time spent in england :P

  • @MusicalMaiden92 Yeah it took him at least two swings to do the job.

  • Mark Strong can undress me anytime...9:09....he's soooo sexy
