well, of course, put yourself in ozzys position. he had just lost randy r. ~ where can you go but down from there, guitarwise speaking?!?!? :) besides whatever psychological effect that whole thing had, practically destroying the band (since randy had so much pull in the grand scheme of things) now you have to find somebody QUICK to get back out there with another album and tour... those were some hard shoes to fill and the fans are used to randy but jake e. lee did a great job ~
Jake's a talented guy, no doubt, but the music with Randy just had so much more depth. This could have been any 80s band. Jake could play anything Randy could compose, I'm sure. But no one since Randy could compose anything that comes close to his material. You'd never hear a rhythm piece like this with Randy and I think that's what really made him unique.
he was one of the best styleised shredders in the 80's his style is so unique and untouchable so hard to emulate, its weird now he plays softer bluegrassy stuff :/ not hatin it but hes not trying, his forte is this little thing called metal i hope he hasnt forgotten about it
I've heard lots of things. I've heard what you have commented. I've also heard he quit because he did not want to spend the time to make the Tribute album, and I've heard Ozzy fired him during a drug-induced rage.
@ajlukelepuke ozzy fucked up in a big way by letting jake go, can"t they all just get along, hell man, ozzy should"ve worked on getting jake back before his new album came out..........that would"ve been the shit in my opinion, i love bark at the moon and especially the ultimate sin......which i personally have multiple copies of being the original pressing of the cd and the remastered one, the original is the one to get since shot in the dark is ten seconds longer and it sounds better
I've been pretty open about my dislike of Zack Wild which has got me a lot of angry PMs. Zack does play much heavier than Jake which is what carried Ozzy on for so long. I just wonder if Jake would have went that way w/ the heavier 90s and beyond metal? If he did, however, he'd be complete sellout-poser; a la Zack Wild. Just my opinion...........
There is a lot of new(er) metal of different genres I like but early 80s metal had the best players = Jake, RR, OLD Slash, etc.......
@ajlukelepuke well the times have changed so i don"t think it"s really gonna matter now the 80"s are over unfortunitly, but i would do anything to get my hands on that delorean from back to the future, i would stay in the 80"s and never grow older i love it..........let the decade repeat itself every ten years i don"t give a damn it would be awesome as all hell
If you did pick up a DeLorean, make sure your licence plate reads "OUTTATIME"!!
80s metal is the absolute best. I hate when my buddies blast some NuMetal crap like Disturbed (puke) and then say my iPod is loaded with "cheesy glam crap".......idiots. I gotta say Jack, you have great taste in music!!!!! And movies!
@ajlukelepuke DAMN SKIPPY !!! and when that baby hits 88 mph i want to see some serious 80"s shit........LOL, and have julia gray naked as a hood ornament by the time i arrive haha.......are you in ? i can take you along with me, it be a beautiful THANG !!!
@smackenjack If you get your hands on that delorean.....I wanna go back and live that whole decade over and over again for fuckin eternity. The beer drinkin.....the pot smokin....the muscle cars with nothin but metal blarin from the speakers......the fuckin hot little assed spandex clad chicks with big hair......HOT TUB TIME MACHINE and 1986.......Here I come baby.
@80sMetallion HELL FUCKIN YEAH !!! my man, my man, count me in aswell, that would be the absolute shit......one big assed party every fuckin day and the thing of it is the decade repeats itself every ten years......sounds like some kinda fuckin heaven to me and to be honest with ya......i hope the world does end in 2012.....because life ain"t been worth shit since 1989......it"s all been downhill......fuck this new millenium crap age.......don"t like it one bit
@ajlukelepuke I agree with all you stated about early 80s metal having the best players. I was in high school during that era and it was the best! Also, I won't criticize you a bit for your dislike of Zakk. I never liked him from the start. Ozzy could have done MUCH better with that pick. I utterly despise Zakk's pinch harmonic playing. I've heard him totally massacre songs with that garbage. Jake and of course RR were far better players. Anyway, keep rockin' dude!
Not from the "bark at the moon" lp as someone said, but from the EP and it is on the b-side ofc!=)
one of the best songs as far as Im concerned...Jake e lee outruns all of Ozzy´s guitarists by far, even Randy Im afraid, even if he come as a close second...I remeber when Zakk got bued out after his speed-solo on his first Ozzy tour...he should of stayed out...
just guessing maybe the "A-side's job is to be better, or ONE UP, the B-side."
silly iknow.
i didn'tknow this was off Bark. I had a picture disc with Live "i Don't Know" with Randy, and i coulda sworn it was a garage version of this tune with Randy!! the licks do sound a little different but i am 41 now and i had the picture disc way back in the early '80s. anyone know if what i say is true?
this is off a demo that is called "Off the B - Side" that had Up On The B - Side, Bark At The Moon and many others.... my personal song off bark at the moon is Now You See it (Now You Don't).However this song is on the remastered 2000 sumthin edition CD :) the regular bark at the moon features 1.Bark At The Moon, 2. Your No Different 3. Now You See it(Now you dont)4.Rock N Roll Rebel5. Centre Of Eternity6. So Tired7.Slow Down and 8. Waiting For Darkness
I love all of Ozzy's guitar players (Randy, Jake and Zakk),but I think it's a great shame that Jake didn't get to do any more albums with the Ozzman. Such a great guitarist.
cool ass song, gotta love it & Jake E. Lee is flat out awesome, thank's 4 posting this awesome song, never heard this before today (7-13-09) !!!!! CSC/09
great to hear. i can sorta see it not making the Bark At The Moon album, not a great chorus....now if you could only get us a good Jake interview video, bro, U da man !
i just got a reply from a beiber fan! he's trying to find his girlfriends beaver while watching britney spears videos1 lol poor homo

Or what the whole lyrics means.

cybercat08691 1 year ago
@Zukatsr125 'One up the B-Side' is English slang for 'one up the backside' or 'one up the ass'.
A B-side is the flip side of a single, usually a song not good enough to be released either as a single or an album.

Great song, I love Ozzy's poppier, middle tempo stuff. I like it better than some of the songs that actually made Bark At the Moon.
BTW, this was on the 2002 reissue (which isn't very good 'cause it's remixed... just get the original '95 remaster and download this one).
