I caught a couple monsters on that exact same bait last Thursday! That's a bummer she came off, did you get a good hook-set? If you are really wanting to learn to jig fish you should check out our DVd on jig fishing. It is 2:45 min. worth of very valuable info. that focuses strictly on jig fishing.
Hooked the biggest bass of my life today on your 3/8 green orange promega, got her close enough to see her and let my line go slack and see ya later fish! Slowly learning to fish with jigs and am impressed with your product so far.
@TheBombPros Try trimming the skirt a little to make the jig smaller. Also, put a trailor on like normal, but use a smaller one because in the spring you want to downsize your baits. Jr. KVD trailors from strike king perfect plastics are great. Fish the jig around any isolated structure near points. Bass will stage up on the points especially around areas where the structure or water depth fluctuates before they move in to spawn. Usually it's like a hump or abnormal area on the point. I hope th
I have been fishing with a normal jig with a full skirt here in Illinois in March, but not a lot of luckI have been hitting them with Lipless Crankbaits and have been doing decent, but I was wondering where should I fish a jig on a small lake with little rock and riprap. I also wondered whether a finesse cut jig would help on such lethargic bass. Thankyou
picked up a few of your jigs late last summer...i do a lot of skipping up under docks and overhangs, and the jigs held up better straight out of the package than any jig i've used. skipped the same jig i don't know how many times without having the skirt slide down once - grabbed two dozen more this week at the indy boat show and can't wait to use them and that new buzzbait you guys have out!
Fish will move up and down with weather patterns until they actually bed down. You can find them in the winter on the more vertical big busted rock and on the warming trends follow them to the more chunk rock, then smaller chunk pea gravel mix. You can follow the fish back and forth as they move depending on the weather.
Thicker Stand up Jig...even tho i do mold my own jigs..u cant beat the way Omega has made their Jigs..you will hear alot more about Omega Tackle in the future just like you will hear more about BIG BEAR Fishing rods
There is no cut and dry answer as each fish is an individual and they will all react differently to situations. You can look for them on the beds and if they have moved they will not go far unless the water rapidly rises (Floods) or there is a major change in conditions. If you were getting bit on the jig prior and can't get them to go I would try the Shakey Foot with a Senko. This combo catches fish when nothing else does!

What about crankbaits like a Rapala DT Flat or DT fat? I would assume a slow retrieve would be best. Or how about a spinnerbait?
