XD I've literally spent the past ten minutes browsing all the different language versions of this song, and this is one of my favorites so far. (My others are German and Italian - and since I've always known the English version, I gotta toss in a vote for that. XD)

The language is great, and I think it's a combination of the language and the actor that makes the good ones work so well. I know nothing of Dutch, but this guy's voice is amazingggg.

What I enjoy about listeneing to Dutch is that even though I undestand almost everything *speaks both English and German well*, I couldn't answer a question if asked for, I never really studied it. XD

I bought some language book and a monolingual dictionary (My mother must have been thinking: WTF, are you crazy?? What do you needd that for, girl??? XXD) in a second hand shop a while ago! :D

I can't understand why anyone should claim Dutch as ugly - I think, it's very cute (and sounds definitly nicer than Italian or French). But if you like this , you maybe have to try the german version - the singer is brilliant (or I just think so because I'm a native German-speaker^^).

Wow that's a first Onashiro; Dutch is your favorite language and it's one of the ugliest, guttural languages on earth even the Dutch know this! First time I've ever heard someone say that, and I'm native English speaker, married to a Dutch living in the Netherlands, and I turn the TV so I don't have to hear it. Well, speaking as a native Dutch speaker, it depends on WHO is speaking, haha. Some people's tones make it sound extremely ugly, but it can be nice too. :) I don't mind the Dutch voices for the Disney movies etc etc. :)

What part of the Netherlands does your wife come from? Even within the Dutch speaking region in Europe there are major differences in pronouncation. Unfortunatly all of the major tv networks are from the northern part (Hilversum to be more exact) so you mostly hear the ugly guttural language on te tv. Try watching Canvas and i think you will immediatly hear the differences.

Actually, for people that don't have dutch as first, second or third language, it's a pretty hard language because we change our spelling a lot, every few years. And we have certain rules that you don't have in other languages. Which makes it pretty much a hard language to learn.

It's a Germanic language, so some of the words are very similar to English. However, there are sounds that English speakers have a lot of trouble with, such as g, sch, and r. Plus, it has a different grammatical structure from English. But compared to something like Zulu, it's easy. Plus, Dutch has no letters that are not found in English, such as umlauts.

The voices are cool, but this version sounds very one-dimensional because many of the ambient background sound effects are washed out in the dub. Other foreign versions (like the German version) retain or re-recorded the other soundtracks and mixed them well.

the reason we dont like most french is because they usually refuse to speak another language, in a museum I used to volunteer I sometimes had to explain soething to French, first in dutch, Alot of not-understanable rambling at high speed, then in English, even faster and a angry tone, thn stuttering in french, relieve and a true FLOOD of god-knows-what frenchie-talk.

a little tip, if you go in our direction on holiday, take your responsability an learn some english.
