The thing is, pretty much every kicked today can probably hit a 63 yarder. However, in Tom Dempsey's time, and even these guys time, a really long kick was probably 55 yards instead of 65. :P Just saying, all the kickers can do it, but they are just catching up to the great guys back in the day.

a 63 yard field goal in denver is like 53 anywhere else....remember the monday night game agains the giants when rodney williams punted the ball into the end zone from his own goal line (at least 75 yards in the air)....i also remember another monday night game at mile high where giants' kicker brad daluiso put a kickoff through the goalposts....

Anyone can kick a 63 yard Field Goal where the elevation is at sky level. So no, I do not count this as the Longest Field Goal in the NFL. Tom Dempsey's 63 yarder still stands as the NFL's Longest.

That's why Jim Rome always called Denver "Williamsport" when the Rockies would play Baseball there.

Even though the elevation of "The Mile High City" is over 5,000 feet, it really makes no difference. How about if Jason Elam were to come to San Diego and kick that same 63 yard Field Goal and see if it will actually split the Uprights. That ball would not even make it to the End Zone in San Diego (Where the elevation is Below Sea Level).

The Saints played their games at Tulane Stadium until the Superdome was built. Tom Dempsey kicked that Field Goal outdoors on a Cold November Sunday in New Orleans!

In what "Dome" did Tom Dempsey kick it in Jackass?!

At least we know that the ball does not travel very far in New Orleans.

You cant really knock two of the strongest legged kickers in the game has ever seen just because they happend to break the record in Denver. When one of them played half his games there and the other was a divisional rival who plays there twice a year... and could make a 60 plus yard kick in any stadium!

In an outdoor stadium you have to account for heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, and condition of the grass... it's much harder to throw and catch a ball when its -20 with a foot of snow on the field. It's called a home field advantage, deal with it. And those extra 3 yards mean absolutly nothing when your kicking into the wind with snow on the ground.

@Jiltedin2007 Just because he hasn’t made a record field goal anywhere else doesn’t mean he can’t. In pre game warm-ups Janikowski warms up by kicking 65-70 yard field goals in every stadium! Hell back in 2008 he attempted a 76 yard field goal in Oakland. I think if the coach is willing to let him kick a 76 yarder at sea level he can make a 63 yarder anywhere, and altitude has nothing to do with it!!!

Yup the holder is five yards from the line of scrimmage so thats why it says 58 on the screen were the holder is it's 63 yards

@TOW3L1E - Denver took a delay of game penalty which is five yards. The penalty yardage added makes it 63 yards.
