  • Nice vid! Sequences and story are amazing, looks nearly professionally made!

but my question is, what song is the guitarist playing for real?

  • For a school media project this is very good! Credit to the actor who plays the "old man" in this video. The story line is all too true. Thanks for introducing me to the John Butler Trio, what a find.

You men do a nice job on the instrumental, its better than you think it is. Keep up the music video making, its been a plus in my day. Any way the actor deserves some fan mail! Good job.

  • OMG !

  • never mind about offbeat and hats - simultaneousity is not great in many sequences - but the feeling expressed in the Video (at least to me) meets with perfectly the spirit of the song - it IS simultanieous!! Just great

  • wow, that was a really cool video! well done guys :)

  • It is evident that you don't know how to play this song, but the video is very nice. Good job =)

  • hey, i really think you did a great job with this video! i saved it in my favorites and im going to show my friends... hah, well im a big fan and i really think you portrayed the song beautifully! wonderful. hopefully you're continuing with a potential career with video making...

  • For someone who is new to the music of John Butler I'd say you provided a good introduction, because I would never be able to understand what the lyrics are without watching the video you made. I like the way he enounces (is that a word?) the words, like "he looks out the window..."

  • odessaboy: Do you really think that rock videos are always filmed "live"? If so, then I must tell you that most videos you see are "overdubbed", meaning that the video is filmed TO the music of the song and not vice versa, unless it is a video of a live performance. Sometimes the musicians are playing on a beach, for instance, or they are playing next to the Grand Canyon. Usually, those types of videos are "overdubbed", but they are still good. Right? Okay.

  • That was SICK! You guys did an excellent job, and I'm really impressed at what a few high school-aged kids can produce these days. I like the song, as I was searching for a good version of John Butler's "Oldman", and I found your video. I still haven't found a good one of John playing it. The live versions sound horrible. You guys seem to have a great band, and I really like the video, as well.

  • its good man

  • I think this is overdubbed...me being a profeessional drummer i know the drummer isnt playing what youre hearing.

  • Impressed

  • hey dude where u get da tab for this.

  • That was really good for a school project! Far better than what my school can achieve, or at least from what I've seen. :P Keep it up :D

  • It's Andy (HT 2005). I found this video on your myspace. All I can say is Brilliant! Looks very professional I'm impressed. It's better than anything to ever come out of our year level's media class. :)

  • good job on the video, ive always loved that song, pretty high quality or yr 12, good job!

  • Good work, Tim

    - Max

  • Thank you very much guys, your response was a very pleasant surprise.

As Cam has already touched on, there are a number of little glitches. But the aim wasn't to achieve perfect dubbing or instruments and vocals, but rather to make a music video that reflected the lyrics, the genre, and the styles of filming, cinematography and editing that are seen in ones seen on TV.

    Tim

  • LOL. thanks JBT.

  • ...you guys know that this isnt their song or them actually playing right...? anyways, good job man, fits the song well.

  • That's some brilliant work!

  • I swear I didn't read any of the other comments when I was thinking "Bravo!!!". Does your band make a lot of videos? Would love to see more. Very high quality.

  • This actually looks really professional! Bravo + 1

  • bravo bravo bravo ...nice composition >>> tasty, groovy,& ORIGINAL ...hands down to u guys
