  • sometimes I click on expert village videos just to thumb them down..

  • if your really into making music you would take in what he says, to gain your knowledge even if he doesn't show you what he title says

  • @BoyOfAwesome Listen to Nujabes you dumb ass. Some one slap this foo.

  • This man is trash... Bet he cant make beats like me... I bring that gangsta shit. Yall check out my videos.

  • infowarsOcom

  • right off the rip?

  • I know this guy guy he is from the mafia.... Just when I thought I was out.... they pull me backkk in!!!

  • no wonder they have 140k videos. All crap.

  • Utter waste of time!

  • why is it always the amateurs giving advice? you don't see too many big names tho

  • Right off the rip.... How the hell does this pathetic waste of fecal matter think he is.. Expert Village is the absolute worst!!!!!

  • LOL

  • i have a mpc 2500 and a motif rack please show me how to get my beats i've created to sync to pro logic 8 using an interface. I cant get it to work, don't know what I'm doing wrong could you help me out.

  • @slimkoala Same problem. The best you can do (the best solution I've figured out) is to make an audio track, set your inputs and outputs based on the inputs and outputs of your interface, and record as audio. I'm not an expert, but that's as far as I've gotten.

  • WASTEmusik

  • Village of BLA BLA BLA..

  • i think he's retarded

  • Shut the lid on the computer, never look at it again and get your g.e.d. and some proper english classes so you sound smarter

  • Yup I learned a lot right off the rip

  • yo please help me out i got logic express 8 and i have no clue how to use this thing. i've been watchin your videos tryna get this shit, and shit is hard. hit me back

  • you figure it out

  • how do i turn up my overall product when im done and bounce it bc its always low but loud in logic?

  • when you bounce something, look at the little box called normalize, in your case I think the "little box" is checked, you need to uncheck. for a fast response I don't think of anything else

  • talks too much

  • i thought he was gunnah show us?

  • akward, usually theyd say "this is village expert nd my name is..." i thnik this vid is copied -_-

  • Although this vid seems to be more of just an intro than an actual tuturial.

  • There is NO EFFORT in Music today!!! :(

when we lost MJ i think we lost a big part of individuality! can u imagine when the likes of teddy riley are gone? theres ZERO comin thru!!! this will sound petty but even album names! theres no effort with them or flow of track order on albums! people are too bothered bout bein in films aswell! thats why we will never c an artist like mj again! someone who jus cares about the music & focuses on that bein as good as it can be!! REST IN PEACE MJ!

  • BoyWunda...DUDE!

You're still here fuming over this video??????????

  • All you people that are trashing on these guys videos dont know exactly what he is talking about so you just move towards trashing his videos. All I had to watch was this first video to know exactly what he is going to show you. Templates for for people that dont know how to use music production software and want something to use right off the bat. What he is going to show you is how to use that template then change the sounds and fx. I used make 15 hr full time in a studio wth logic for two yrs

  • Yea man, I agree. I think trashing him has just become "the thing to do" when it comes to this guys videos. There's no way in the world they're that bad...yet people are moaning under each and every one of them that I've watched.

I've definitely learned from a couple of them (since I just recently jumped into using Logic myself)

  • This guy in the video just rambles though...with pointless information...he starts off saying this how, or today were gonna learn.... but he never shows anyone how to do anything. His videos are pointless...what have you learned from this guy?

  • I wasted 1:14 of my life watching you talking...

  • I happened to watch a few of your videos, and they all sucked.

  • This guy is an awesome engineer and producer he engineers my tracks at his studio..

    dudes a pro..

  • if you must make a living from this business you need as much work as possible! in my opinion how can true rap stil exist when avril lavine sells 15 million debut albums and common who is a brilliat mc only shifts 3-4? we live in an uneducated world where quality no longer shines through! this ISNT a diss at anyone here! i wish more people thought this way! u get my full respect but the quality of our fav genre is getting worse! and i cant see it improving!!

  • uneducated?? how does that have ANYTHING to do with opinions and tastes in different music?!?!

  • Ya know, I've been a musician for 25 years...and yet I agree with you 100%!!!

The basis of music and enjoying music has NOTHING to do with education.

Is anyone really crazy enough to think that music is just for educated musicians??? Ridiculous.

  • I agree with you King, Before I went into music performance and production studies I was nothing but self taught. Teachers at my college refused to believe this because I had some knowledge of music business, culture and the musical life. As a self taught drummer/writer in high school I was in a two time competition winning band and I finished runner up in the song writers competition. So a person doesn't have to have a degree to be named a musician or have knowledge of music. :) peace

  • THANK YOU! SOMEONE WHO AGREES!!!! i have studied production and construction of music and i am doing a masters but i know now i know MORE about the industry and marketing than my teachers! not because they taught me but because i have followed music for years and i have seen what works/what doesnt!! u need follow your own opinions and believes! the true succeses did that!!

  • The music industry is a huge business that is widely misunderstood. Another thing is that people don't see the harshness of getting a deal with a company. If you earned a record deal it'll have huge debts that you have to pay off from your performance and sale earnings, a demand of a set amount of albums you have to release in a set period of time e.g 5 albums in 5 years and for every album you want to make you'll owe the company hundreds of thousands. You'll be basically living on $12 a week

  • True hip-hop will always exist and'll come back and be huge again.

    Rap's just changing.

Think of what it sounded like in the 80's...then the 90's.

Yea, then after 2000, it started sounding kinda messed up.

Hey, the Lil Wayne/ T-Pain thing can't last forever. Neither can Avril.

Nothing to do with lack of education. Plenty of morons LOVE true hip-hop (its the one thing that makes'em smart :)

  • your stupid! Avril is a total diff genre she is also mainstream with more financial backing for advertisement etc, Music is a business first, talent 2nd. you could be a skillful MC but dress like a clown. Big bosses invest in a market that will sell and make money, why would sum1 invest in common wen his competitors will clearly outsell him eg. 50, Eminem

  • YOU ARE DUMB!!!! CAN U READ?? whole basis of my article was the fact companies invest in no talent! its all about bein commerical! as for AVRIL...... she was signed for ONE REASON! she is from CANADA! a huge country that is untapped n is a big money earner! hence she sold 15mil! how can u compare common to 50 cent!!

  • he has done EIGHT studio albums! TWICE as many as 50 whos sales are gettin less and less! do u know anythin about music? thats like sayin soulja boy is better than LL Cool J because LL hasnt had number one records yet he is a pioneer! u will find our points were on many points the same!!

  • in the golden age of music back in the 60s- early 80s tape was SO expensive to record on only the top top talent was signed eg. marvin gaye james brown, studios couldnt afford to record tracks and they had to be perfect first take! no with technology we can take a crap voice auto tune and make it sound good for free!!!! talent doesnt sell anymore (2 a certain degree), commericalisation and sex does! fact!

  • I agree with you man, real talent in music is pretty much dead in the commercial industry. Those that are talented always get rejected by record companies why? because they don't have the image, the fasion or the sex appeal. I'm a musician myself and I've studied music and music business. It is disgraceful how the music industry works.

  • Its not lack of education man, It all depends on what target market that artist is trying to reach, Avril has a huge following from people from as young as 9 all the way up to people in their late twenties...even their early 30's. It's all marketing and advertising that = big bucks on getting an artists name out there.

  • (3/3)

you have created a sound urself and yes thats real talent! but we live in a world today when quality isnt appreciated! sad i know! u can used an mpc and any equipment and still have talent! its how u use them! th first thing i did with my mpc ws wipe all the pre sets! we need more originallity! we need old school hip hop back but i sadly cant see it! i used to spend hours on hours editing drums and effects but one flip side of that is that from a business point of view time is money and

  • (2/3)

that was what he was all about and his production is top draw!also teddy riley who i admire so much used samples and items like the vocoders t-pain uses, kanye does this very well indeed! so my point is isnt it the quality of the music that has decreased the main source of gripe??? i sample, not much only little parts that most people wudnt know but i also create my own sounds! does this make me bad? i totally respect ur views on do it ur own drums etc there is no better feelin when

  • (1/3)

    I DISAGREE!!!!!!

i have signed up to youtube purely to comment this! i am in my early 20's and i dnt tell people im a producer but i hve studyied music for years and i am at the best music school in the uk studyin the audio engineering side so it is my ambition! my own personal taste is 90s rap and i grw up on soul and motown so i personally do not like the pop liek flo-ridas etc that are aoround today! BUT i as far as usin samples that does take talent! one of my idols is rza! and that

  • so ne person that represents expert village...

are dumb assholes who dont know anything and feed you a bunch of bullshit

  • Yo boy that fitted doesnt go with ur shirt and stfu you dont kno nottin about beats

  • Its really all about the sounds for sure like he said. If you need any samples for your MPC or MV, I have over 1900 titles in all formats-akai-emu-wav-acid loops-etc and also 750gb hard drives full of sounds. Theres also a 750gb Program Drive for both Mac and PC with all the best RTAS-VST-AU instruments out.

Email me at pcosxtech @ yahoo for the list or check these screen shots of the drives to see how they are arranged.

  • wack you no nothing about real hip and get a new laptop u commercial laffty faggot. u need a mpc asshole

  • since when is all hip hop made on an MPC drum machine?

lol thats for one style of beats....sample beats.

man comes like you can only make hip hop with an mpc...foolishness.

  • since when, urrrmmm since the 90s. sample beats were and still are the best beats ever. nowdays corporations dont wanna use samples because of money issues thats why u got crap hip hop (probably the crap u make using fruity loops) Playing today. mpc is legend and is the element of real hip hop, not like all this laffy taffy shaking ur ass bullshit.

plus it takes a real hip hop mind to make a sick hardcore hip hop beat. CHECK LEWIS PARKER

  • lol please dont try and educate me on real hip hop or producing. I know exactly the deal, mpc's are an old school ting i love mpc sample beats but the reality is that doesnt make you a real producer. All real producers know that programming is far harder than sampling. With that said i dont make hip pop or any mainstream bullshit i make underground hip hop sometimes i sample but alot of the time i program. See im at a stage where i make instruments sound live but program them myself

  • if programming is supposed to be harder than sampling that dosent mean in anyway that ur a better producer. all it means is that u like to be difficult. simple as. and anyway nothing is difficult if u know what ur doing right.

  • of course it does because its far far harder to do, the same way that if you play the guitar using far more Technique and feeling your a better guitar player.

    its just realistic and logistics.

MPC beats can sound tough i have made plenty but they got there limits and any real producer knows that programming is where you can show your true skill off as an original producer. Your clearly one of these guys whose just got an MPC n cant do shit on software.

thats why no one knows who u are

  • and are you for real the best producers in the world didnt just rely on mpc they could all program, from j dilla to boonic doc. There all good programmers not just samplers which they clearly dont consider the whole core to there production. Mpc beefs up alot of your drums but if your just using loops on the mpc cutting up any old track n creating rhythms thats great make those instrumentals...but dont call yourself original or a real producer and i use logic and reason 4 fool.

  • bullshit. you say that "your at the stage where u make instruments live and programe them urself" are u crazy, thats the same thing that killed hip hop in the first place. programming is mad stupid cause hip hop wasent built on total accuracy thats what made hip hop unique in the first place. but now we have software users who think they can make hip hop, any fool can place a bar with a click of a finger but real hip hop heads get into the flow and use the mpc.peace!

  • LOL i was using the MPC YEARS Ago. I mastered it n i realised it had to many limits years ago.

you obviously do not make beats or if you do your going no where cause you do not understand the reality.

Programming is mad stupid u know LOOOOL your a clown i swear.

MPC beats are tough BUT ANYONE can do them. They are fucking easy anyone can cut up a trap n hit buttons in rhythms, But few people know how to use a program inside out so that they can create the power needed.

  • like i said ..i feel where your coming from ive watched tons of videos of kids on here just pressing random pads of chopped up old sould records to a drum beat ..no melody , no flavor just random bits of an old song to a drum beat ..and its just sickening to tell you the truth..everyones a prodcer nowadays..lol

  • i understand what your saying to. but what im saying is that alot of homemade melodys suck. like i u said everybody thinks that there a producer nowday tryin to make catchy melodys like that soulja boi crap, it just dosent work. hip hop has souled out and now its just pop music for talentless faggots.

  • alot of home made melodies suck LOL

i guess thats why you rip melodies using samples from other peoples tracks who made them melodies using instruments. LIVE SOUNDS

same on software if you know how to, i create amazin soundin electric guitars which even sound like there being strummed then i use automation to add feedback n distortion.

u dont need hardware to make sick hip hop beats period and hip hop hasnt sold out its a lifestyle commercially is not even the same thing as underground.

  • for real, its all love if you come with your own style and You PRODUCE sound.

But i mean guys like this tag1989 think that pushing buttons and cutting up premade tracks by very talented individuals in the past makes you a real producer.

see i mastered the MPC years ago n ive mad loads of beats like j dilla n similar people using it, but its so more rewarding makin a beat from total scratch and slowly making it bit by bit, n u can make it just as rough n hard hitting as old school shit.

  • some bitter, hating MF's on here...stop hating this is America if everybody here wants to learn how to produce so be it...people hating because you can't do it..got to start somewhere...i'm sure Dr. Dre's first production was a number 1 hit...feel me

  • wasn't

  • lol...believe me im not hatin ..i dont have any reason to ...what i didnt like was watchin a video of some 18 year old kid pressin random buttons on an mpc and then sayin that if you loop an old record and put drums behind it ..its not hip hop ..like who is he to dictate whats hip hop ..especially when his random chopped up beat kinda sucked...no disrespect to you but i come from a generation where u actually had to have some type of talent to be considered a producer..

  • no business men killed hip hop

wu tang programmed all there drum loops.

    PROGRAMMED.

n years n years ago they were sampling its been done

Year 2009 music has changed. I hate all this fucking sell out commercial rap but the underground has many well made beats and every producer you love is not just a sampler on the MPC.

your totally retarded aswell it takes ages to manipulate sound to get it how u like bashing buttons on a mpc n cutting a ready made track up is fucking childs play

  • and u say that its child play to be bashin on pads. ha well how lazy is it to use a stupid mouse to select ur step combination and piano rolls. using the mpc is all about rhythm and using your own specific timing besides its software that killed hip hop in the first place, by making it easier for producers to be lazy and no imagination but what they FEEL is a good track. samples was about reliving the dead albums. e.g tribe called quest can i kick it. i cant be wrong if thousands are saying it 2

  • anyone can grab a track wack it in a mpc use a mpc drum loop and bash it over the top then cut up that rhythm n bash the buttons to create a beat i know hundreds of people who can do it SAMPLING Is minor you must be fucking shit if you dont realise this.

and you have no idea what you on about, when you sample your stealing a melody created by someone else, when you program you sit there for hours on end adding equalization, compression, minor tweaks and effects to get sounds interlockin, mug

  • ha u see now what u dont understand is the music nowdays sounds like somebody used a software. but with the mpc it sounds more unique, u didnt know where the shit came from. fuck the fruity loop laffy taffy bullshit thats being used today. ive never heard a descent beat that hasent used a sample. they all sound like keyboards and stupid snaps and bounce kicks. MPC 2000XL IS ABOUT REAL HIP HOP AND FINDING THE BEST SAMPLES, you know ACTUALLY Reinventing the the music that wont get heard anymore.

  • not at all, i can tell when somebody made a beat on an mpc instantly, most people dont even load up there own samples or drum loops they just use the pre programmed ones i hear people do it all the time, the commercial shit is not made on fruity loops (your dreaming)

n your right thats what sample beats are for bringing back whats been done n putting into a new style. But that doesnt make you a real producer and thats not really talent, Manipulating sounds seperately creating a drum loop from

  • scratch takes absulotely ages, I layer drums all the time and my snares, i sit there working on my drums for hours on end, on an mpc you dont even need to compress or add equalize you've already got some beefed up drums. Its just lazy and its easy.

Everyone who knows about production how ever you wanna blab on knows what im on about. Programming LIVE SOUNDS is fucking hard, cause your using software to get a live sound using your own skill it doesnt have to be digital sounds u fool.

  • no disrespect intended but have you heard of 9th wonder ??? ..he has that classic sound that your talking about and he uses fruity loops..fl studio ..some people want to make beats but dont have the cash to shell out for mpcs and sp1200s and such...but i do understand what your saying as well as shaolinz ..theres a ton of cats on youtube with mpcs who jus play random chops from a sample to a drum beat ..and think theyre doing something but ..nope.

  • by the way you aint a producer your just a sampler ;)

producers create sound, you just cut up sound other people have made n bash buttons in rhythm.

sorry but that is not talent.

n musics all about knowledge you guys just follow what your told i done work experience down abbey road where the beats recorded so my studios kitted out with the livest equipment around. From Neve pre amp's to SSL digital studio mixers. dont get my wrong i like the MPC but its not what makes u a producer.

  • ok first of all ive used software before otherwise i wouldnt be criticizing it. unlike you i do my practical researches. secondly your obviously unaware of how music has changed and no matter what u use whether its mpc or software crap, its still using SAMPLES. you dont make sound outta know where fool and if you say that all you use is a keyboard to make your beats then your just a piano man. i ve used sonar reason and fruity shitty loops . and it sucks ass

  • i have been making beats for 7 years , n like i said my studios kitted out nicely i got an mpc aswell a roger linn signature edition one. But i am aware like every producer i work with, that the reality is MPC sample beats is not what a producer is and im totally aware of how musics changed not all rough 12 bit hip hop beats with that old school sound were made purely on MPC's hell no. I make that old school style anyway i just dont purely sample

  • Smoking weed is actually promoted in every professional recording studio that I've worked in. Workplace drug tests wouldn't prove anything that isn't already known.

  • ur like mccain.. ur saying ur gonna do all this shit.. but when it comes down to it.. ur soft and dont end up showing anything.. probably cuz like him u dont no how to..

  • yo

stupid question but i use logic too and a motu mk3 and i can get it to record but i get no sound coming back.

ya man i need help. if u can tell me how to get playback out of my EVENTS 8's.

    easy

    culture

  • damn where do you get your weed man hook me up LMAO

  • I can't stress the importance of drug testing in the workplace. This video eloquently illustrates my point.

  • uhhhh

  • I disagree. Thanks for taking the time to help others and the tips.

  • faggot learn how to teach before trying and u fucking suck NICE beat in the background u FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • back?! hahaha black dumb fuck

  • no dude its called a mistake.

  • chill bro

  • Wow. I learned so much.

  • this guy is cool. if you want to get more familiar with logic8's interface watch his other clips. he is very clear and

you can learn quickly. they are nicely split per topic, so you can find just the right one you need at the moment.

thank you man, very useful series of posts.

in fact, thanks to anyone who's ready to share their

    knoledge in this way.
