  • Own a 2006 3.0 AWD. 110,000 miles, still an awsum car. Problems - Overfill tank replaced, brake fluid cap replaced, batter replaced (180.00), heated seats module replaced. and the fabric is coming off all four pillars. I replaced the brakes at 71k and those stainless calipers can be tricky. Car gets a consistant 23.4 mpg. And it looks identical to the one shown in video, except I have aftermarket 18" wheels.

  • I have the X-Type late 2001 with 56000 on the clock, 2.5, v6, auto.

Approx 23 to 30 mpg and the best car i have ever had.

I just love it, but i just hope petrol slows up, going up in price.

As i don't want to sell my pride and joy.

  • i just purchased a jaguar x type and i love it. it really turns heads!!!!!

  • I love the X-type more than the XF :) RIP X-type

  • @rolls414 *cough*xf replace s-type *cough

  • @rolls414

Me too....I will try to keep my X-Type as long as I can in the best possible shape.. Cheers.

  • @rolls414 don't worry...the x-type is returning in 2014 as stated by Jaguar

  • I have had my stock 2.5 to a max speed of 135mph before the speed limiter kicked in...not bad for a naturaly aspirated 2.5 liter. still had RPMS to go!

  • I've had an '03 X-type for over 2 and 1/2 years and have only needed regular maintenance, oil changes. It's a daily driver, absolutely wonderful in snow. I drove it from Chicago to Toronto in one 11 hour run with no discomfort at all, getting over 30 mpg. I absolutely love it. The only problem I have is wanting an XJ and and XK too, but I wouldn't get rid of this for the AWD. Oh yeah, I also have a problem with idiots who don't care about driving into, bumping, and dinging cars around them.

  • This guy has THE BEST voice you'll hear. I'm also certain he narrated car specs on 'NFSIII' in 1998. Listen to him!

  • I have a silver X-type ^.^

  • i had an x-type 2L diesel se model for three years - i loved driving it and it never let me down - sold it and got a saab convertible but i do miss the jag - lovely cars!!!!

  • older x types are pieces of shit, worthless 2002-2005

  • @lioookm i have to disagree with you, man. i owned a 2003 x-type and it had absolutely no problems, i drove this every day of the work week 1.3 hour commutes for a little over a year and absolutely never had 1 problem. my only problem currently is missing it and regretting trading it like a fool...i'll leave it at that.

  • i have one and cane it and its fine!

  • I have to agree with kpcy2k, not being a Jag. lover, I purchased an X-type 3.0 Sport after totaling my Lancer (what a garbage car). My buddy at the dealership was having me test drive cars though not being a JAg. fan because of hearing about all the electrical problems and such, i reluctantly test drove it. As kpcy2k said, 'Why didn't i get one sooner?!' Having a Mercedes as well, Infiniti, Lexus Audi previ. I wanted a BMW and glade I DID NOT buy one. This Jag. Has me in love! Such a solid car!

  • Not being a jag lover I got one as payment for a job I did because the client had run out of money for his extension and was selling his car. I was going to sell it on to recover my costs but once I drove it decided to keep it and sell my BMW instead . I love the X type, Its a great car Why didnt I get one sooner

  • You have to drive one to understand :-)

  • the s-type 2000-2004 looks bether

  • umm... no. the X Type is far sleeker and better lookin. mainly because on the long horizonal grill. The small oval grill on the s type is such a turn off

  • omg dude, you do not have taste.

the s-type is much more nicer, the grill looks good, the grill from the x-type sucks, and this car is to little for a jaguar, its just the jaguar for normal people.

S-type rulez dude and atleast with 238 hp

and its runs well, trust me i have one

  • Yo daniePM got it rite, the s type is much more nicer and looks much more better 2. the x type is got no couth at all and no friggin class/ if i be drivin a car i want friggin class, no what i meen?

  • I have an x type and I love the looks. I think it looks classier or more traditional then the s type. But I like the s type because it is bigger. I want my next car to be a jag also but I have a hard time trying to decide. I was thinking of going in the direction of the xj because it offers the same front with sweet led rear lamps and the car is much bigger and also much nicer then the s type because of the front grill and lights

  • Amen to you! go head

  • people take the piss out of Jaguar now they are under Tata's control but they've turned them around with the brilliant XF and the new XJ which is simply stunning. I have an X-Type but they needed to move on from the traditional styling

  • Tata did nothing here, what you talkin bout willis

  • hello my antipodean friend!

  • Oh my Goodness! X types are beautiful. My Fav.

  • I agree with you 100%. this will definatly be my next car.

  • It's not a Jagwwar? say it as Jag-you-are.

  • It doesn't fucking matter.

  • but this is America! (unless you're somewhere else. In which case, carry on.)

  • @turdbandit jok u r

  • @turdbandit so true so true

  • my grand father has the best jaguar the jaguar vanden plas they are limited editon it was more than a roles royce

  • lol in my country the price is US$90.000

  • did the 06 have xenon lights in the front becuase i have a 07 and it has halogen lights becuase i see some 06s on the road with xenon lights

  • im not sure but usually the car makers sell xenon lights as an option in a lighting "vision" package.

  • Quotes from insuretec: "My brand new x-type (£33000) engine with 29000 on the clock blew up and Jaguar have refused to honour the warranty." .... brand-new ... with 29000 on the clock ... lol lol lol lol .... that's a very, very low delivery milage .... lol lol lol .....

  • lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol

  • I used to have a xj6, i forget the trim, it was vandan plass or something, anyhow, Im looking at buying either a 98 xj8 or an 02 x-type... is the x-type more reliable?

  • I have 02 Jaguar X-type 3.0...very good car to drive...gas mileage not as good...I put 89 octane on this, the gas mileage was horrible and the engine light came on...went back to 92and everything was well :)

  • LOL I pronounce it JAG-U-R

    I have an 03 X-type the 3.0

it has the chrome and the cat on the front :)

  • my mom just bought an 05 jaguar x-type. it doesnt say vdp but it has corban fiber dashboard trim. 18 inch wheels, roof, rain sanser, all that crap. so is it vdp? she got it for 21000 dallers. 30k

  • sound like the sport. which to me is the best package the only thing that isnt standard on it headlight cleaner

  • I used to love my x-type 3.0 sports premium

....Be Extremely careful if you are thinking of buying a car from Jaguar.

My brand new x-type (£33000) engine with 29000 on the clock blew up and Jaguar have refused to honour the warranty. It also had loads of other problems. We're now suing them. Jags aren't what they used to be - Caveat Emptor - don't buy one

  • I'm really sorry, but isnt a Jaguar, not jagWar? why do americans pronounce it jagwar? cause the last time I checked it didn't have a "w" in it...

  • You know what's more annoying? People moaning about it.

  • No no no... I'm sorry, but if you've heard someone say jagwar, you'd understand (: and thanks for the speedy 6 month reply (Y).

  • I had a 2003 x , now I drive a 2005 x VDP. Very neat car. Keep makin' them Jag

  • my mom have one of them

  • we have jaguar x-type

  • I was checking the fuses and relays today, after my light went out, and they had the Ford logo all over them. I mean I knew it was a Ford Mondeo underneath, but I thought they would have the mind to put the Jag name on the relays.

  • By the way, In Greece, a fully loaded 07 X-Type sells for a bit over $81000, so I don't want to see a Ford relay in it. (Taxes mostly to blame)

  • To qamikospoutsaras, I have had old Jags and new ones. Thanks to Ford, they finally run right. Also the electrical problems are gone, which was there biggest problem since the 50's. You should be thankfull for that Ford logo.

  • Oh, don't get me wrong, I love the car, and the main reason I finally got a Jag was that Ford fixed the electrical problems they had for decades. Lucas Electronics was called the "Prince of Darkness" I don't mind the fact that 40% of the car is ford, I just wish they would have paid attention to details like the logo on the relays. Of course now that Tata bought Jaguar it's a moot point.

  • I love this car... it's amazing...

  • I love my car..got 2007 wintergold..so beautiful

  • This is a ford underneath, with a jaguar shell and badge on it !

  • thats true

  • true, but still a nice car

  • yah i know i have one the vandenplas edition

  • @friendlyuser1 When Ford bought Jaguar they insisted (against advice from Jaguar management,) on a cheap 'jag for everyone'

    Big mistake.

The X type brought the company to its knees, diluting a prestige brand with a cheap car, all ford, built on Ford production lines, styled to look like a Jaguar.

The X type caused a financial crisis for Jaguar/Ford because they lost sales across the whole range.

A bad move on Ford's part. Jaguar tried to tell them, but arrogant Ford wouldn't listen.

  • @acorntechnique Look what Hummer did to their brand.....H3 is like a Trailblazer and only a 5 cylinder. what where they thinking? Nothing like the H1. Sorry to divert off Jaguar. I have a 3.0 XType myself..love it...best car ive owned..

  • @friendlyuser1

The X type was popular too. All the Jaguar wannabes who couldn't afford a real Jag bought one.

But they didn't make any money for the Ford owners and lost sales of the real, big cats because Ford didn't understand the prestige brand of Jaguar.

The company was sold cheaply to Tata motors who redesigned the S type (now the XF) and scrapped the X type altogether.

The bottom line is the X type is just a complete Ford Mondeo, with a Jaguar look-a-like body and a Jaguar badge.

  • @acorntechnique its ez to blame ford for everything, but reality is the styling was too old fashioned & thats why Jags didnt sell esp the Xtype which was suppose 2 be for the younger costumer. it was the designing depts fault(british designers). Dont forget ford modernized jag enormously introducing aluminum bodyshells which resulted in best economy and least weight in class & ford initiated & revealed the XF & the new XJ not Tata. its ez to be a monday quarterback

  • @friendlyuser1

Wait up here. I'm not offering an opinion here, I'm telling you a fact.

  • @acorntechnique not looking to aegue, butcheck the facts, ford modernized jaguar in every way possible, they made the xj entirely out of aluminum, light n stiff they modernised the plants to produce the new XF & XJ, they pushed new fresh modern ideas and design, but british designers (ian callum & company) designed new cars that you couldnt sell to younger crowds.British are old fashioned & conservative, that hurt jaguar, bentley, rolls, rover for years.

  • @friendlyuser1

I'm sure your not but I reiterate:

What I have stated below is fact not opinion.

    RW

  • i love my dads jag x i love my moms lotus elise and i love my ferrari 360 mondena

  • are these part of your hallucinations after Chernobyl?

  • ^^^^

    LOL

  • The most beautiful car i have ever seen!

  • I have got the s type 2.7lr v6 SE 2007 model.

  • i love my xtype too

  • man, the xtype has 4 more engine choises in the uk and manual transmission is mostly used and the wheels and nav screen in this one featured on the baisic 2.2d se model. no wonder it doesnt sell in the us

  • they need to make pink jaguars

    That would be awesome!

  • I love my X. Refined but intuitive character, fun-to-drive,superior ride comfort, good handling and steering feel, all-weather capability.... It's a nice car for 'drivers'.

  • Love my X!!! I live in Colorado and it loves the snow you just have to have the right tires... Then it will go place others wont!!

  • I love the Jag also. For a short time I owned a 90' XJS, had a lot of probs but I still liked it. I am looking into buying an X type, but the issues with ALB and the side impact crash test on the x type is pretty scary. I think for Jag lovers it's a trade off because they have been built for show and preformance and safty has been given less importance.

  • I got a X-type and It's pimped out but I'm not too happy with the steiring and controle on snow and ice also the brakes I think are bad in some scenarios. You can't stop it keeps on rolling and stops slowly because of ALB (Anti lock brakes). They show the x to be more than it is in videos. But Still I like my Jag and a jag is a jag like no other car!

  • what kind of tyres are on the car?

  • i just got an x-type, its 2.0 liter d. and it handles like a beast, and feels lovely to drive, best car i have had!!

  • I love my x

  • Carro de diretoria, muito show!!!

  • what are you talking about? I love the X- Type.
