I personally love the high end line that Mongoose has. What people don't realize is that there are two totally different branches of the Mongoose brand. There is the mass-market line, distributed through Pacific Cycles, and for the past few years, the high end line has been distributed by Cycling Sports Group (bike shops only) who also handles Mongoose's sister companies GT and Cannondale. Schwinn is in the same situation, with a cheaper line, as well as a higher end bike shop only line. I'll a

@jrides4 You can think what you want but actually the freedrive suspension works awesome and maybe mongoose sucks to you but honestly your opinion doesnt matter and its false. Yes E.C. can ride anything you throw him i agree with that. But your knowledge how it works or if it is good or not seems to be pretty tainted. And yes you can here the bike coming from a mile away as you do any other DH bike And they are fast and super efficient. So try it before you knock it unless ur just a label whore.

Only thing I'd recommend is to improve their customer service, eliminate jumping through hoops with many different people for something as simple as getting spacers for the rear shock, which was a real hassle for my buddy.

You owe it to yourself to find a test ride center and try this freedrive set up. I went from a cannondale rush 5 to the teocali super and if you put the same drivetrain on each bike the mongoose will win the sprint; it does work.

@jrides4 ACTUALLY MY FRIEND RACED MY MONGOOSE KHYBER ELITE AT THE NATIONALS THIS YEAR AT SOLVISTA AND PODIUMED 3RD SO MONGOOSE SUSPENSION AND BIKES WILL HANDLE SOLVISTA OR WHAT EVER YOU THROW AT IT. AND THE KHYBER IS NOT EVEN A DH RACE BIKE, MORE SO AN ALL MOUNTAIN LIGHT FREERIDE BIKE HAHA!!!!

@JoeyW1982 first off i live a mile from sol vista and between sol vista and keystone i get to ride dh  days a week (been racing dh for 9 years now)and i will tell u this mongoose bikes suck and not just the ones you sell at wallmart. you can put a good rider on any bike and he can ride and i know there is no mongoose that will last a full season, itsn one of thoes bike that you can hear coming down the trail a mile away. dude you can lie too every other tard on here but not me. mongoose sucks

wait, the crank is mounted on the swingarm, so wouldnt it feel the same as a hardtail?

Pretty much. As soon as you stand the rear shock works far less than it should. It will still compress a little bit.

The crank is NOT mounted on the swingarm, it is on another link separate from the swingarm and the main triangle.

The Freedrive DOES NOT break your ankles on rough terrain. Sure, the cranks may pivot back and forth, but it's way better than pedal kickback. This system is also really plush on rough terrain and pedals very well.

I would know all this because I have owned a Mongoose Teocali for about a year now. Best Mountain bike I've had.

Don't diss the Freedrive!
