Also, sometimes I get into this half asleep state where I am tossing and turning in my bed, and I am not even myself...
one time I sensed that my limbs were used for painting my bed as i turned, and as I woke up, the feeling of regaining my own conscious thought compared to the subconscious personality of the painter, was so strange, as the faint half-dream seemed like real my universe. But I only had a vague sense that this was happening.....
@1y9b9b I think I know what you mean :) It sounds like they might have been the start of dream images you were seeing. If you're getting to that point you're not far at all from consciously having an out of body experience. If you can stay relaxed and focussed until you know you're asleep or the images get stronger then you can try gently rolling over and standing up (like if you were going to get up physically into the morning). Then you can get up and find yourself in the astral.
@1y9b9b Yeah, when I was a kid I remember having conscious dreams, but then they stopped as I grew older. We can learn to remember and interpret our dreams though, and to have lucid dreams. There's a good mantra to remember dreams, try searching for RAOM GAOM on youtube and you'd probably like the book I mentioned in the comments section
I remember when I was a kid I used to have dreams like this,
where I would know that I was dreaming and I could walk, and fly and force my way through the dream.
Now all i get is either no dream recollection, or if I'm lucky some fleeting recollection of part of a dream where my actions are not my own and I can't/won't/don't have conscious control over the dream.
@omcasey1 Yeah, pretty fun! :) Lots of other stuff you can do with out of body experiences too like finding out about past lives, going to spiritual places or meeting spiritual beings to get teachings, learning about ourselves and personal obstacles in our lives..
That is so cool that your finger stretched! I have attempted that many times in Lucid Dreams, but it doesn't work, even if I am super clear. It's like I just really don't want to see it stretch because it freaks me out. The weird thing is that I have stretched my legs and arms up to a several feet longer, but I just can't get that finger to stretch! :D That is wonder full that you didn't feel your physical sickness in the astral, showing that it really was just physical.
I like how you talked about how you were feeling kind of ill in real life but in the Astral plane you weren't sick at all. That's really cool that you got to experience that, kind of showing you, your more than your physical body. Truly awesome!
@joeylandkammer Yeah, I thought that was pretty interesting too! I've heard of people who have been blind or deaf and have been able to see / hear when having an astral experience too!
Really amazing experience David, thanks for sharing that. Just goes to show how having the persistance and faith can really make a difference to your experience of the esoteric.
Wow! David that sounds like an incredible first experience. Thank you for sharing!!! I recently had an experience where I woke up out of a dream and realized I was in the astral! I didn't get very far because my emotions took over too quickly but even seeing the results of my efforts lately in this way was really inspiring. I woke up and kept thinking I did it! I did it! :) After listening to your experience I'm even more determined to have more conscious time in the astral.
@VidaVC Sounds great! Sometimes grabbing my hand helps me stay in the astral longer if I feel like I'm starting to lose it. It seems to centre me, and if I feel like I'm losing it I just focus on feeling my hand for a bit and then keep going
@jamiemassetti It's not too hard to learn how to have experiences like this. A really good resource to learn is the astral and dreams book I mentioned in the video comments. It's pretty cheap online, or I think it's going to be released soon as a free ebook. There's a great book at the same link too called 'Gazing into the Eternal' which teaches about techniques like awareness which help to wake up in dreams. To be continued..
@jamiemassetti Continued.. In the meantime, you can try to be aware of the present moment during the day, this helps to become aware when we're dreaming. Also, because lots of strange stuff happens during dreams, if something strange happens during the day you can ask yourself if you're dreaming or awake. Really try and get the feeling it might be a dream. Then take a little jump or pull your finger. If you're not dreaming nothing will happen, if you are your finger can stretch or you can fly.
