This one looked relatively minor, so they should still work. And in fact, you can often use cell phones to call people out of state when an earthquake happens. Living in california you need to understand that earthquakes can begin without a warning but this was longer than any other quake i have ever felt...i live in san ysidro and it was surprising at first but i realized something was wrong... i could even hear the windows move!!!! thank god it wasnt any stronger...these things remind us that we are not invinclible... before the quake even hit i forgot i lived in california... there goes my wakeup call

I live in San Diego, and was in a kitchen with 9 other people when our Easter Sunday gave us some strong back and forth shaking for 30-40 seconds, and I watched water splash out of a spa in the backyard. We are very very thankful it wasn't worse, and very sad that two people in Mexicali died. And no, God didn't interrupt her music recording with an earthquake. Now be thankful you're alive and well to type insults via remote control...
