Areopostal, A&F, & Hollister are NOT preppy! Their clothes are really cheap and rather ugly... and their skirts and shorts are way too short! You would never be able to wear that to the club. Being preppy is all about class, you don't even have to have a TON of money, sure it helps, but its not necessary, & really? flip flops & heals (we love flats & sperrys) and you can't wear those to our schools! and about the 'OMG like' things, College Prepatory school definitely did not teach us that.

The brands you mentioned would make a real preppy person cringe, those are for immature children that want to fit a stereotype they know nothing about. "Preppy people" don't shop middleclass, or in the case of the stores you mentioned, lower class. Preppy is about sophistication, not dressing like a 14 year old.
