@CognizantCheddar did you watch USA-Spain over the weekend? Because I don't think anyone could say after that game that Micheal Bradley should sit on the bench, he's obviously our best CM
@ultralight9 Dempsey is a perfect example. Nobody knew who Dempsey was when he came to PL and now look at him. I'm just giving Holden credit because it's his first season in England and he's been our most consistent player. He's fantastic and he's a major part of what we do at Bolton.
Holden has been fantastic for us this season and deserves all the credit he gets. He's one of the most technically gifted players I've seen and I've seen Okocha and Anelka play for Bolton. Every Bolton fan loves him.
Holden has been a revelation for Bolton hasn't he? It's nice hearing fans in the UK finally giving American players some respect. If Holden can make it, and do well at Bolton, then there's a nice pipeline of American players who can do even better than Stu (absolutely not disrespect to him).
This is a great video because it doesn't just show Holden at work, it shows Bolton at possibly their best. Wonderfully patient build-up play, smart passes, and great interplay. This team could really shock us in the Premier League this year and Holden will certainly grow and bring a great element to the USA by playing on a team like this.
@morangibson I'm a Bolton fan mate, I was talking about the Bolton squad and believe me we have some quality players. He could play for anyone. Also, I think playing in the premiership will make him one of your best... Just like it has Dempsey!
i Hope your right i cant wait till i see an American player playing for a top 4 team playing in a champions league final hopefully Owen Coyle turns him into a world class Mid-Fielder
@morangibson i predict the american player to play for a top 4 club or be a dominate starter on any other club would be Tim Ream or Juan Agudelo. Holden and dempsey could definitely aswell
He's been fantastic for Bolton as a tireless and reliable lynch-pin in the midfield, but as an attacking-mid it's a little disappointing to me he hasn't scored more often this year.
That'll probably ensure Bolton is able to hold on to him, though.
@mattysharples hate to admit it..lol but you are right. Fulham has helped Clint Dempsey alot..and Stuart Holden at Bolton will do the same..the EPL is a very tough league..pehaps the best..?
@morangibson Jermaine Jones as well who came from Germany. He's a quality player as well. I think the perfect center midfield mate for Michael Bradley since he loves to come up and attack Jones who is a defensive midfielder can drop back and cover the back and Bradley won't have to worry about helping as much. Edu and Clark are decent and you can tell he always had his eyes back there making sure they are shored up at the bkac and he couldn't fully focus on the attack. Jones is solid back there.
Bradley isn't getting much PT with Aston Villa, and also wasn't getting it with Gladbach before he got loaned, so don't be surprised if he gets benched in the friendlies and Gold Cup coming up. Especially since Edu has been nearly as great for Rangers this season as Holden has been for Bolton.
I'm not a Michael.Bradley hater at all, but you can't play him ahead of Edu or Holden right now.
Anyway, I'd like to see a 4-5-1 with Edu or Bradley, Jones, and Holden all featuring.
Why is this black and white? The goal was only last year..

Holden might not be the best right know but in 2014 who knows might be better than Landon and Dempsey

Very much depends if he can keep away from injuries hes had 3 in a season and a half.
He cant keep coming back from those and performing.
Quality player who i hope gets back to his previous form which will be diffficult when he returns after the season has started
