@karmadhyana- Haha, yeah apparently he did the frantic arm-pumping because he thought the final edit was going to be in slow-motion. That kinda makes it funnier to me.
The frantic arm-pumping is hilarious! All three of the mustard/mayo ads are funny as hell on their own, but it gets to another level when they are watched within the context of the whole ad campaign. Oh, how I adore Mr. Show.
What was the episode where bob runs late at the store and Dave opens his wallet up with Bob seeing the show on TV and yells "What the fuck?!?" and rides his bike to the show?
I've seen this clip dozens of times and it just now dawned on me...He's dressed like Lincoln because Lincoln freed the slaves and this guy is freeing the two jar slaves. Now it's even funnier!!
"LET'S GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE!!" Nobody on earth, has ever spoken that phrase and gotten laughs like that... such a hilarious guy. Testament to the performance brilliance of Jay Johnston.

@nensondubois I think you are referring to "Bush is a Pussy" from season 3. Your description is a bit off though.
jcasaurus 11 months ago
@nensondubois The name of the episode is "Bush Is A Pussy," but he's not riding his bike, he is pushing a shopping cart.

@nensondubois Just search Kedzie Matthews to see the sketch.

The Story of Everest aside, I'd say this is my favorite Jay Johnston bit from the whole series.

Mr.Show is more funny than any real commercials.
But this style is too subversive for corporations though

I recommend viewing this, followed by Stensons Mayostard, and then the third in the trilogy- Mundees Mustmayostarayonnaise.
I dont know why, but by the time I get to Mustmayostarayonnaise, I'm laughing so hard I cant see the screen anymore through the tears.
