stanley clarke & his bassball bat......hits the balls which never come back...........collecting ice haleys bop, onward to cyric minor ,2 meet around the back of september........
On first part (play the bass 10), it's my favorite bassplayer Mister Louis (Brothers) Johnson who slaps his bass. This is the 3rd collaboration Clarke-Johnson : the 1st is on the double LP "I heard that-Quincy jones" on "midnight soul patrol" . Now it' played on Youtube (sorry for the bad qualty). The 2nd collaboration is on "we supply"From the 1980 album 'Rocks, Peebles, & Sand'. I SUPPLY THERE WILLBE OTHERS COLLABORATIONS !
Definitely an overlooked track by Stanley Clarke, I can remember when this song was actually being played on commercial radio stations, still sounds fantastic after all of these years, slammin' track!!
sexy bass...damn lol

First 40 second... one of the best funky bass- and rythm intros from 70's funk - period.

This tune is funky good! with LJ on bass duties too, it is one of my favorites.
A similar tune Stan helped do was "Monster Man" by Jeff Lober fusion.
