Check out Congressman Flemings facebook page. I haven't even mentioned his fun friends who lap up his bullshit...read their posts...its like 1984 time.
lmao its almost hard to believe that anybody would say something like that outloud, much less on a damn news program. This guy is living on another planet.
God forbid someone making 55k a year pay a little extra in taxes while foreclosures and unemployment are at record highs, all as a result of failed policy that person represents I might add!
Quit whining... Its almost like your mad people are successful. Its not like he just happen to magically to get where he is now. Its called HARD WORK.
@racetowingh Hard work my ass I work over time and I get taxed more than his rich ass apparently you have not worked your ass off at a job and pull in over time to make ends meet. If I am getting taxed trying to make ends meet he should be taxed fairly due to excess amount of wealth he has.
@racetowingh Yet, im sure he is loading trucks of frozen food all day.....
He does not work hard, he works SMART.. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE.
Look the Markets are not much different than being a successful music artist. There is lot of ppl with the talent & "know how" but they all arent dealt the same cards. Wealthy business owner arent the only hard workers, & they are the only ones that are capable of running a successful business.....
You need to listen to what he said. The $400k is to reinvest in his business and to create jobs. You are hell bent on destroying this country. Success should be a crime..that is clearly your position you are completely out of touch with reality.
You people keep complaining about jobs going overseas. Why do you think that is? Do you think it could be because the taxes are lower almost everywhere on earth? How much tax revenue will the IRS collect on businesses that move to China? (GE moved more than 250,000 and Obama appointed the CEO to the position of "Jobs Czar" ! That's 250,000 people not paying income tax or sales tax here either. (Not just the Billions in GE profits) Wake Up Dumbasses!
@DSuper3 Corporate taxes are lower here than they've ever been. The reason jobs are going overseas is due to free trade agreements with China and India. Corporations are making record profits in the United States, up 22% since 2007. They're sitting on over $2 trillion in offshore bank accounts while urging Congress to declare another corporate "tax holiday" so they can bring the money back into the United States as they did in 2004, which also created no jobs.
Liberals are so Brain-Washed they actually believe this crap! Are you really angry with a Businessman saying he only has $400,000.00 to reinvest in his business? (To create jobs) You buying into this crap? Saying he is having "Surf & Turf everyday" is only promoting Class War Fare. If you believe taxing the rich more will do ANYTHING at all, You are brain-Dead !
Further evidence the gopee has made greed, selfishness and being dismissive of others official policy. Now, the question is why so many voters still identify with these disingenuous charlatans....
@gihaification I dont think your getting my point...Obama, this guy and the rest of liberal base wants to tax the rich (those making over $250k) because you guys want the rich taxed their "Fair Share"...what is fair share bro? when you have 40% of our population not getting taxed, and those people making 1 mil or more getting taxed 35% already + cap gains and you want them to get taxed more...thats not fair, how bout taxing those 40% just even 1% because they aren't doing their fair share
@facosta81 I just gave you a link explainning how your 40% isnt taxed is BS, I've given you a link showing that nearly all of this countries wealth is being sat on by the ultra rich, Ive given you a chart showing how the poor WHO DO PAY TAXES, just not Income tax simply dont have the money, Yet you keep parroting this talking point about equality....
This is Wall Street, it's not clever people playing Dragons den creating new products, its scammers and rule exploiters, they caused the depression, they gobbled up your taxes to shift their toxic debts, They funded jobs being sent overseas. All the while making super profits and not paying their fair share. This isn’t taxing 40% of a starving man’s bread. This is 40% of millions and billions.
@gihaification so according to this scenario that said "millionaire" would of been taxed $385,000...how is that fair that 40% of our population not get taxed, now on a real example...I drive by the Mega Million sign everyday, and every week it goes up and up...how come all these poor people can afford to buy lotto tickets, as of right now it is at 86 Million, if the government would only tax lets say even $5 per month from everyone...oh the possibilities
Also if you made 1 million a year you would be taxed at 33% currently only earning over 1million would be taxed at 40% under my rules. IE
If you made 1.5mil you would be taxed 33% for first 1 mil and .5mil would be taxed at 40% (I don’t know all the rates so I haven’t bothered to split the 1mil up)
@gihaification remove gap gains rate? as I understand it and Im not sure if I do, Cap Gains tax is tax from investments right? meaning say I made 1 mil in salary get taxed 35% so $650,000 left and I invest say 100,000 and make another 100,000 the government as of now taxes 15%, your saying tax that 100,000 another 35%?
like I said before, the rich (im talking individual not corporation) are getting taxed their fair share
side note: I am and will never be rich if anyone is wondering
@gihaification damn this 500 character limit...anyways my point is liberals always say its not fair that the rich isn't getting taxed enough...well what is enough, if the guy net income was $6.5 million, that means his gross was 35% more, meaning he was taxed 35% more...he would of made $8.75 mil right? meaning he was taxed $2.275 mil? I know its more complicated that just simple math but you get the picture...rich pay their fair share, middle class pay insane amounts as well
1) remove bush tax cuts, - This on its own is like 1.5-2 trillion dollars a year
2) add another top tax rate for 1mil+ at something like 40-45%
3) Remove Gap gains rate and make that money subject to normal tax rates
Trying to get a money from the poor when the rich have clearly milked the system for the last 30 years is wrong. As you have seen from the numbers the money went to the top and the situation hasn't gotten any better.
@gihaification I have looked, and those numbers aren't surprising to me at all...and I agree with them...USA is a capitalistic economy, if you are willing to work hard and are successful then you are rewarded, most of those guys at the top 1-3% are just that, they earned their dues and they have a right to that...rememeber Bill Gates, the richest man in the world didn't get there by sitting at home on his ass...it isn't impossible...
@facosta81 They should get there Dues, But just how rich should someone be before they say "here I simply cant spend all I have and I keep getting more and more money cause my Biz is just sooo good?
Bill gates is set to give like 50 bil to charity when he dies, his kids are only getting like 10mil each. Hes a special case. Too many at the top have monopolies and are not hard workers, they just collecting for passing go every month.
@coolguy4rmnormcal first of all...I aint country, nor am I a hillbilly...second of all like I said, you libtards can't do math...If his net was 6.5 million, meaning his gross income would have been 35% higher bc his tax bracket already taxed him 35% and he got 6.5 million left over and you want to tax him again? another 30% so you tax him 60-65% of his earn money and you give it to the poor simply because he is rich? I dont think so...40% + of our population doesn't pay taxes...how fair is that?
this guy has no clue what he is talking about. You people are just not getting it. he has 400K to reinvest in the company. As in new jobs, raises, new equipment and other things. If you ever ran a business before then you would understand what he is saying. As for the 'feeding his family bit', you do know he is talking about food, shelter, school and home/city taxes.
@zuwilco Are you actually claiming he is reinvesting the 400,000 into his business? Because he isn't. He invests that money into the stock market to get richer not in his business. Now Sam also reminded everyone the congressman makes 175,000 for being a congressman so that's a total of 575,000. We will go back to the Clinton rates. Stop bitching at least they are lower than the Reagan rates
@splicedenergy yes, that is what I am saying. Sam might of said that but how do you know if he already added that into his 600k figure? You don't and I am sure Sam doesn't either unless he has his tax papers.
@splicedenergy lol, that is something you are assuming. Which is not fair. You should go by the facts and not what other people try to put in your head.
@zuwilco btw, he said he is an LLC. Having a LLC, you have to file the taxes of personal and business in the same paper work. So he did include the money he got as a congressman. If you don't believe me then look up LLC taxes.
tomthefunky STFU, youre applauding this clown because he creates minimum wage jobs? im sorry bro, you cant support 3 kids, pay the gas, electric, water bill, buy clothes and food with that. never mind that he has half a million left over AFTER feeding his family. you think hes not using deductions and loopholes... please wake up homi as for the representative PAY MORE TAXES clown
He's right. Typical leftist tactic of class warfare. The man is responsible for creating literally hundreds of jobs, but he's the bad guy to the left. What's the point of starting a business and hopefully becoming successful today? The vultures on the left are just going to target you.
If you really don't like people making money selling food, then open a restaurant yourself that makes no profit and only pay yourself as much as your average or highest paid employee gets. What is stopping you?
Then when you have a bad month and have no money and have to shut down, or 30 years later still don't have the money to open a second restaurant so you can spread this great concept across the country, tell me if you think it's a success.
to the libs out there whats the magic number you will work for the rest of your life, with no increases, because it sounds like you dont want him to invest his money so he can more
There fair share? and out of touch? He made 6 million and he only saw $400,000? that is a big discrepancy...that 6 million he made, I bet the government already taxed him...how did he not give his fair share? You liberals are all outraged that people like him make money...yeah he has $400,000 but if you made $6 million and only saw $400,000 how fair is that to them? get real libs...did you libtards fail math?
@facosta81 First off you hillbilly country prick he made 6.5 million minus taxes lets say 5 million he spends 200k on food for his family, house and car insurance and 4 million on his businesses paying employees etc...and he left over with 600k and he doesn't want to b taxed 30 persent on his 400k thats bullshit oh yeah 200k of his 600k is being taxed like a normal family making under 200k a year which is i think 8 percent. He has 400k to blow on anythin he wants and he is bitching about 30% tax
Is it not true that "job creating" payroll is a business expense and therefore tax deductible?
If payroll and equipment were not tax deductible, he would have to pay all employees at 33 restaurants out of the 600k "left over for himself and for capital reinvestment".
Oh please....This is absurd. If you stupid fucking liberals want the government to waste more of our money, go right ahead and donate your own fucking income.
Not bitch at the private sector. AKA JOB CREATORS!! YOU STUPID CUNTS
If being rich is so easy, start a business or try your hand at the stock market.
He makes 600k selling 6,300k in food... and instead of spending 600k on himself, he puts 400k back into the business. Next year perhaps he'll expand and make even more.
How many of the people bitching would have the discipline to set aside 2/3 of their income each year like that?
If you really are upset by this, make your own damn sandwiches. Every dollar he got is from someone who volunteered to spend it.
@siclos I do not believe that he was telling the truth when he stated that his businesses earn $6.3m in net income, prior to paying wages. He has 33 restaurants. So each restaurant, earns $190k? that's bullshit, and anyone who knows business knows it. His PERSONAL income, is $6.3m. That has NOTHING to do with the income of his businesses.
And in response to your "2/3" comment... YES, I can live off of that much. EVERYONE can live off of $200k a year.
@elfwall Yes, most families could live off of $200k a year (barring high medical expenses, etc.), but there are plenty of people who would spend much more than $200k a year, if they had access to $600k a year.
When deciding whether to side with someone engaging in mutually consensual transactions with workers and consumers, or to side with those who call for the use of force to deprive others of consensually and legally obtained property, I will always side with the former.
@ForTheRepubl1c what are you some kinda fucking moron or just the personal spokesman/ Kock gobbler for this Repiglickin douchebag? does he at least put a little sugar on his tiny penis before you suck it little teabagger, FOR THE REPUBLIK?
What's so infuriating is that he's trying to shame us for being angry. Say "class warfare" all day long, but I don't want to be a serf and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
You mean Louisiana - where they had Katrina and BP killing off the economy and people? He'll crying about waaaah I ONLY have 400k a year to spend AFTER business expenses AND 200k or so I give my family to live off?
This is what the NY Post has to say about taxing millionaires: 'The bigger issue is this: A “soak the rich” plan makes no sense under current economic conditions. Soaking the only people left with disposable income to spend and keep working-class Americans working is one of the dumber things you can do at a time when you need the rich to spend more, not less.
The logic is so brilliant. Consumer spending by millionaires is our ticket to a strong economy- Because it's working so well right now. American millionaires need to step-up to the cash register and put our yacht-builders, our jewelers and furriers, our drivers and private chefs back to work!

I think we should return to the tax rates of the 50's. The more you make, the more you pay. Sorry if this is somehow "un-American" but we've returned to the era of the robber barons and I personally don't want to live endentured to some corporate goon. I'd rather have a well regulated system and a public that's well informed [fuck fox] and involved. I believe the Buffet Plan is a good start. Plaudits to President Obama for his courage.
Ask yourself a simple questoin. if you knew the government was going to take 50% or more of the next chunk of money you make (ala 250k or whatever the arbitrary number is) would you even bother working/investing for it. What's the point. And if he's not willing to invest his money back into the business, how many 20-50k jobs are lost because he's not going to bother. All you jackholes that complain about his 400k think about the 20 people that don't have a job because he didn't bother.
@greggsperber WOW! The Fox Propaganda machine worked wonders on you.
Ask yourself a simple question: When the government was taking 70% + in taxes, why people still worked and inversted in America at greater rates than today that taxes are at their lowest?
Ask yourself again? Why THE REST OF THE WORLD still goes to work and invest in their own countries where most of us have to pay way more taxes than the US?
America's growth in the 50's was done at a tax rate of 92% for the rich.
Taxfoundation(dot)org has the information from 1913 to 2011 indicating how the rich were paying over 70% during the greatest growth in America in the 20th Century.
(sorry I cannot add the URL for the site)
BTW: GDP growth for 1953 was 13%
Now, be caution. These are facts, which I've been told, can cause allergic reactions to Conservatives.
@PT109Boat oh thanks. I'm sure you are accurate seeing as how you went from '92%' to '70%' in a mere few minutes here. I'm all for the uber rich being taxed a bit higher, but your info is confusing when it changes so dramatically.

What people like you don't get is that the capital gains tax is 15%. And the super wealthy make most of their money, not in salary, but in investments. They pay a lower percentage than the middle class. They also use more resources and should pay more taxes. And your little scenario works the other way, too. If the middle class, the engine of the economy, had less of a tax burden, many new small businesses would be started and many new jobs created.
@greggsperber Bow to your masters. Whaaa...why should rich people have to suffer at all, they're rich after all and thusly are better than POOR or MIDDLE CLASS people...we should all just work for free so they can keep more of THEIR money, just think how much consuming they could do then?!! You can keep your trickle down economics, me - I am tired of getting pissed on and being told it's raining by mindless conservatards like you!
This guy wants to blame the workers for the Postal troubles he wants to see 100,000 of them get laid off and close most Post Offices, not once does he say that he owns several UPS stores.Must be no conflict of interest for him,He's in office to fatten his wallet
It's shocking to see that the right gets to keep spreading the lie that "the poor don't create jobs" and not get challenged by the mainstream media. Everybody creates jobs by spending money on goods and services which in turn need to be produced. It's like first year economy class at junior high! How can people believe such a profoundly stupid falsehood?
I love how the argument for Republicans is always about the number of jobs, not the quality of those jobs. Who gives a fuck if you create 10,000 new jobs at minimum wage to replace 5,000 jobs that paid $15-20 an hour? It's not a win for anyone other than the people with the money.
The more I hear from that top 5%, the more I realize they're mostly self-serving pricks who don't give a shit about me, so why should I give a shit about them? Pay more taxes assholes so I have to pay less.

400,000!!!??? Is that all? LMAO!!!!!! Most of America would kill to love off 20% of that 400,000 a year. Shows how out of touch these republicans are. Why people keep getting fooled into voting for them over and over is beyond me.
John Fleming is OUR so-called Representative. He was this out of it BEFORE he was elected. Our state (Louisiana) just made the top 10 list of the poorest in the nation, yet he whines about getting $400,000 a year and barely being able to feed his family? Remember, this is on his business alone. He also gets a salary from US.
I think John Fleming needs to get a job making sandwiches at one of his Subways. to appreciate struggle.
If I'm the congressmen's wife, I would check if he had some kids on the side if he's having problems feeding his family with $200,000. And what the fuck you feeding your family, Lobsters, Steak, Shrimp & caviar? WTF?!!!
Evil ... maybe? What they are is incredibly selfish. They want the bottom half to pay their fair share. Well, the bottom 50% has 2.5% of the wealth and no, that is not a misprint. Please rich people, please stop whining and kick in.
unfreakingBELIEVable! what a total ass! Greedy, selfish, self centered, deluded, piece of crap, raking in hundreds of thousands of OUR tax dollars PLUS profits and DARES to whine about paying a fair tax while WE are taxed into oblivion and lose jobs and homes??? every single politician should be grabbed by the hair on their heads, dragged out of Congress, tarred and feathered, and thrown in JAIL for all of this, you arrogant piece of crap! Argh! I could smack him til his teeth fall out!!!!LEECH!
@claradusk No idea what our Minimum Wage is, I make about 70k$/year and wouldn't work for under 25$/hour, I always give advice to pick a job that pays well.
@BarackMcBush My minimum wage is 7.25/hour. I bring home $200 a week. Just for laughs, imagine being single and living on only that. I'd love to make what you make, and wouldn't know what to do with all of that cash. I'd probably get debt free first, help my family pay off some of their small debts, stock the freezer, go to community college, and take my family out to a movie and a nice restaurant once a month. Yeah, that's all I really need.
@claradusk Well ,there is a shortage in the construction trades , I made 33$/hr as a Union Journeyman cement cutter and I made 24$/hr as a specialized Hospital orderly (Union wage) , both only required 4 month courses to start (I liked the hospital job much better) Education , in these cases very little education can take you to the middle class , research a field that you think that you can do and pays 1/2 descent and then go for it . I now have my small business and I'm happy with it.
Damned liberal media with all their hard questions! Don't they understand that you're supposed to soft-pedal the questions when you have wealthy people on the way Megan Kelly does?
Damned liberal media with all their hard questions! Don't they understand that you're supposed to soft-pedal the questions when you have wealthy people on the way Megan Kelly does?
"Class warfare never created a job." If you don't see that as a threat, you're not listening. It's a threat against poor and vulnerable people. "Don't tax me, or I'll take your house and lay you off!" It reminds me of the abusive husband who threatens to take his wife's car keys away if she calls her sister.
Like Sam said at 1:26 when your median wages don't increase in thirty years but you're taxed on goods and services from 30 to 50% more than thirty fucking years ago people are going to struggle big time!
Like Sam said at 1:26 when your median wages don't increase in thirty years but you're taxed on goods and services from 30 to 50% more than thirty fuckin' years ago people are going to struggle big time!
They are greedy selfish and could not careless what other people are living like, its a big case of im ok jack screw you !! and these people do very little for mankind except take take and take some more. 600,000 wtf planet are they from because they sure as hell are not living in the real world pfffff and they actualy want sympathy, the world would be a hell of a lot better with out these leaches, think about that next time you go to the bank.
class warfare didn't make a job ...except when it's class warfare against the poor and middle class then of course it will. I wish we made them feel physical pain.
@ohbuddyiliketowatch - I know, pathetic isn't it? We are so F'd. If you think about it, we don't believe in any resistance any more, we just bend over and grab our ankles. Cavity searches are a part of the NWO. We don't believe in anything, won't fight for anything, and as it turns out we're just the "eaters" that routinely get "harvested" by the Morlocks. They blow their siren...let's see, is it terrorists or the debt ceiling this time? Then we freeze, and wait to be eaten. This is your life.
Bryan Moynihan (CEO of Bank of America) just laid off 30,000 employees so corporate profits could continue to skyrocket (as they have been for the past 10+ years). This story is just another example of how out of touch the wealthy elite are with society and the economy.
This abuse is central to our great capitalistic model. And, it is not just in this country, but all over the world. It is a flaw in the source code, written by these greedy elitists. As to giving energy in anger to those hoarding all that money, and trying to squeeze a few more points out of their reduced work forces, and inventories, they will soon crash and burn. The disparity it too great. Nature will balance the scale. Be patient, and vigilant. The hour will soon be at hand.
If there is a class war, who is fighting for the poor? Obama and the democratic party, I guess. That's still rich vs. rich. Ain't no poor people pulling any strings here.
The mere concept that an "average" family needs to have $200,000 in order to be properly fed, sheltered, clothed, just amazing that he thinks his family MUST HAVE that kind of income in order to live for a year. The man has a full time job, with $175,000 in income to "represent" the people of his district, AND he thinks he deserves ANN the earnings from his business ventures, (which he certainly CANNOT manage on a daily basis from DC),,,,,what incredible arrogance!
@unassumption Yes, you're asking the all important question! People like this Congress critter think that they personally DESERVE lots of money, and that those without such lavish sums to fee their family are either lazy, or stupid, or somehow undeserving. That's why I used the words "incredible arrogance". By the way, the second word in the next to last line should have been..."ALL".
I doubt it's a lack of information, that if they knew how poor people were they'd change. They make excuses to pretend the death sentence we give people without healthcare is justified, and would find a way to sooth their conscience no matter what, would be harder if we always told them what their actions resulted in. I just don't know what anyone would need with that much money, our family gets more than all it needs on 10 times less.

@facosta81 Read this please
en wikipedia org/wiki/Algorithmic_trading
This is Wall Street, it's not clever people playing Dragons den creating new products, its scammers and rule exploiters, they caused the depression, they gobbled up your taxes to shift their toxic debts, They funded jobs being sent overseas. All the while making super profits and not paying their fair share. This isn’t taxing 40% of a starving man’s bread. This is 40% of millions and billions.
gihaification 5 months ago
@gihaification so according to this scenario that said "millionaire" would of been taxed $385,000...how is that fair that 40% of our population not get taxed, now on a real example...I drive by the Mega Million sign everyday, and every week it goes up and up...how come all these poor people can afford to buy lotto tickets, as of right now it is at 86 Million, if the government would only tax lets say even $5 per month from everyone...oh the possibilities
facosta81 5 months ago
@facosta81 Go look up the wealth distribution and read how economics work, Your making some very basic mistakes.
Also:
crooksandliars com/karoli/true-or-false-over-50-do-not-pay-income-tax
Also if you made 1 million a year you would be taxed at 33% currently only earning over 1million would be taxed at 40% under my rules. IE
If you made 1.5mil you would be taxed 33% for first 1 mil and .5mil would be taxed at 40% (I don’t know all the rates so I haven’t bothered to split the 1mil up)
gihaification 5 months ago
@gihaification remove gap gains rate? as I understand it and Im not sure if I do, Cap Gains tax is tax from investments right? meaning say I made 1 mil in salary get taxed 35% so $650,000 left and I invest say 100,000 and make another 100,000 the government as of now taxes 15%, your saying tax that 100,000 another 35%?
like I said before, the rich (im talking individual not corporation) are getting taxed their fair share
side note: I am and will never be rich if anyone is wondering
facosta81 5 months ago
Unbelievable ... that's about all I can say right about this
Mrcamaro27 5 months ago
@gihaification damn this 500 character limit...anyways my point is liberals always say its not fair that the rich isn't getting taxed enough...well what is enough, if the guy net income was $6.5 million, that means his gross was 35% more, meaning he was taxed 35% more...he would of made $8.75 mil right? meaning he was taxed $2.275 mil? I know its more complicated that just simple math but you get the picture...rich pay their fair share, middle class pay insane amounts as well
facosta81 5 months ago
@facosta81 I'll give you my 3 requests
As you have seen from the numbers the money went to the top and the situation hasn't gotten any better.
gihaification 5 months ago
@gihaification I have looked, and those numbers aren't surprising to me at all...and I agree with them...USA is a capitalistic economy, if you are willing to work hard and are successful then you are rewarded, most of those guys at the top 1-3% are just that, they earned their dues and they have a right to that...rememeber Bill Gates, the richest man in the world didn't get there by sitting at home on his ass...it isn't impossible...
facosta81 5 months ago
@facosta81 They should get there Dues, But just how rich should someone be before they say "here I simply cant spend all I have and I keep getting more and more money cause my Biz is just sooo good?
Bill gates is set to give like 50 bil to charity when he dies, his kids are only getting like 10mil each. Hes a special case. Too many at the top have monopolies and are not hard workers, they just collecting for passing go every month.
gihaification 5 months ago
@coolguy4rmnormcal first of all...I aint country, nor am I a hillbilly...second of all like I said, you libtards can't do math...If his net was 6.5 million, meaning his gross income would have been 35% higher bc his tax bracket already taxed him 35% and he got 6.5 million left over and you want to tax him again? another 30% so you tax him 60-65% of his earn money and you give it to the poor simply because he is rich? I dont think so...40% + of our population doesn't pay taxes...how fair is that?
facosta81 5 months ago
@facosta81 40% don’t pay taxes because there simply don’t earn enough to pay INCOME TAX, but they pay taxes everyday on their food, fuel etc.....

this guy has no clue what he is talking about. You people are just not getting it. he has 400K to reinvest in the company. As in new jobs, raises, new equipment and other things. If you ever ran a business before then you would understand what he is saying. As for the 'feeding his family bit', you do know he is talking about food, shelter, school and home/city taxes.
zuwilco 5 months ago

@splicedenergy 400k left over to reinvest...you might want to listen to it again
zuwilco 5 months ago
@zuwilco Are you actually claiming he is reinvesting the 400,000 into his business? Because he isn't. He invests that money into the stock market to get richer not in his business. Now Sam also reminded everyone the congressman makes 175,000 for being a congressman so that's a total of 575,000. We will go back to the Clinton rates. Stop bitching at least they are lower than the Reagan rates
splicedenergy 5 months ago
@splicedenergy yes, that is what I am saying. Sam might of said that but how do you know if he already added that into his 600k figure? You don't and I am sure Sam doesn't either unless he has his tax papers.

@zuwilco Because he omitted it. Omitting is lying. Regardless my points stand

Go knock Fleming out of business, if you can.

Every dollar he got is from someone who volunteered to spend it.
siclos 5 months ago 2
@siclos I do not believe that he was telling the truth when he stated that his businesses earn $6.3m in net income, prior to paying wages. He has 33 restaurants. So each restaurant, earns $190k? that's bullshit, and anyone who knows business knows it. His PERSONAL income, is $6.3m. That has NOTHING to do with the income of his businesses.
And in response to your "2/3" comment... YES, I can live off of that much. EVERYONE can live off of $200k a year.
elfwall 5 months ago
@elfwall Yes, most families could live off of $200k a year (barring high medical expenses, etc.), but there are plenty of people who would spend much more than $200k a year, if they had access to $600k a year.
When deciding whether to side with someone engaging in mutually consensual transactions with workers and consumers, or to side with those who call for the use of force to deprive others of consensually and legally obtained property, I will always side with the former.

This is what the NY Post has to say about taxing millionaires: 'The bigger issue is this: A “soak the rich” plan makes no sense under current economic conditions. Soaking the only people left with disposable income to spend and keep working-class Americans working is one of the dumber things you can do at a time when you need the rich to spend more, not less.
amalgamatedclyde 5 months ago
The logic is so brilliant. Consumer spending by millionaires is our ticket to a strong economy- Because it's working so well right now. American millionaires need to step-up to the cash register and put our yacht-builders, our jewelers and furriers, our drivers and private chefs back to work!

All you jackholes that complain about his 400k think about the 20 people that don't have a job because he didn't bother.
greggsperber 5 months ago

Now, be caution. These are facts, which I've been told, can cause allergic reactions to Conservatives.

I love how the argument for Republicans is always about the number of jobs, not the quality of those jobs. Who gives a fuck if you create 10,000 new jobs at minimum wage to replace 5,000 jobs that paid $15-20 an hour? It's not a win for anyone other than the people with the money.

class warfare didn't make a job ...except when it's class warfare against the poor and middle class then of course it will. I wish we made them feel physical pain.

I wouldn't take the expression "feed my family" too literally in this context.

STOP CALLING UPS.
STOP EATING AT SUBWAY.
Simple....he will fold in a month.
This should make a Subway sandwich taste like a "turd" sandwich. It should make calling UPS the last thing you would do.

@awreslr2
if the average family needs that...how s he not outraged by what most people in the US let alone the world get?
unassumption 5 months ago
@unassumption Yes, you're asking the all important question! People like this Congress critter think that they personally DESERVE lots of money, and that those without such lavish sums to fee their family are either lazy, or stupid, or somehow undeserving. That's why I used the words "incredible arrogance". By the way, the second word in the next to last line should have been..."ALL".

@awreslr2

@awreslr2
the worst part are the working class folk who accept the 'lazy / stupid / arrogant' line until they fall into hard times.

Republican assholes believe what we have now is class warfare. Those evil cocksuckers are lucky we're not burning to ashes them and their families.

@dizzymasekela Instead of taxing the upper-class, let's not tax the lower- and middle-class. Good idea? Bad idea?
