After Forever - Strong

When i found out about this band i was just certain that the Quality of Symphonic Metal ends after epica and nightwish (delain is not metal but good, xandria,sirenia and tristania are hideous etc etc)... But god was i wrong! I find it wrong that nightwish my all time favorite band are far more popular thn these guys and that epica that is actually the "offspring" of after forever is far more celebrated critically and commercialy!

this band along with tristania is responsible for the birth of symphonic metal...I love this band...I listened to epica before after forever...When i listened to after forever i started thinking that epica copies a little bit after forever...After all...Mark Jansen ues do to be in after forever..and left the band to fund epica...

a) tristania isnt symphonic metal, its gothic metal.

b) Therion are responsible for creating symphonic metal. Followed by Dimmu Borgir, and shortly, Nightwish, Within Temptation and AF.

there is a huge difference between those two bands, i think personally that you might hear a few similar sounds because Mark used to do a lot of the music and songwriting for after forever, and when he left he continued to do that for epica. But because the different styles he and sander choose are there really very few things left were you can compare them in or even call them the same.
