  • Have you ever used elastomeric paint for the interior? It's primarily used for roofing and is supposed to have a high reflectivity (apparently 90%, based on my research). Another reason it's supposed to be good is that is mildew resistant, cheap ($17 for 3.6qt), and has rubber like qualities that should be good for sealing any unnoticed gaps...again, I haven't used it personally, but it does sound good.....I think elastomeric paint is commonly known as mastic, and if so is also used in HVAC.

  • Nice fart

  • Great explanation thx

  • ballons are made of mylar. if you live near a dollar tree you can get them for a dollar each.

  • Use spray glue for the mylar, secondly, your electricity is a real fire hazard! This isn't a grow box, it's a fire box!

  • 3:44 Beard on

    3:53 Beard off

  • Only noobs grow in shit like this.. Get a 4x4 tent! With a 400watt hps system. 2 fans and a shade for ur bulb only costs about 1000

  • You are the Bob Villa of Weed, good work.

  • shiny box!!! ahhhhh lol

  • i got 56"x84" sheet of mylar for 3 dollers

  • couldnt you use aluminum foil? i see lots of grow boxes with that

  • make one for me and ship it to Greece :D

  • What do you think of our hydropnics starter kits? Do you think we should try and expand into other core realated hyro products.

  • You shaved in the middle of the vid! :P

  • Ikea should sell these.

  • it's so funny to hear you say "T" in all the videos bro...........T Square

  • I do. It is buyagrowbox (dot) Com Why do you ask?

  • don't you have a website that you sell grow boxes and tents and everything a person would need To setup a indoor garden

  • using aluminum foil or mylar is a no no because it will cause hot spots on your plants and could kill them, using white is the best it will relect the light and not burn your plants

  • @wcc18 use white what paint, the box material ?

  • just use foil lol it may be weeker but still does the same job

  • PLEASE WRITE BACK!!!

Great grow box id buy one but a lil pricy bro....i tryed to build my oun pc grow box but i figured if ima invest 50 buck s, make it woth it.....welll any ways i found a wooden cabinet about this size and was wondering how to make it so light does not show through the front opening part?????

  • Glenn Beck makes a grow box

  • should this be thermal mylar?

  • hey im trying to make my own and im trying to find the cheapest way to make one. can you let me know how. maybe make a video for a grow box for two 5ft plants. thanks.

  • Walmart has Mylar for $5

  • i cant find any mylar can u help? I live in canada, that is probably why

  • Foil or mylar may reflect slightly better, but they can also create hot points, where light is reflected unevenly and can burn your plant. Flat white is safer for the plant, and trust me, it is still very bright and clean looking.

  • @Fujimoto420 AGREE! matt white is the best!!

  • hahahahah did you shave your go-T mid video

  • I just spray painted the wholeinterior, white; becuase I heardwhite would be the same as mylar or any other reflective material, I have doubl ided tap for mounting everything.

  • UVC, B, and A not being reflected means that all the radiation that actually allows for photosynthesis or growing plants is being absorbed by the white walls. so mylar or sticky tin foil is not a color by a shiny metal absorbing none of the radiation in the color spectrum is your best bet

  • white is not. actually black is the absence of light. light being roy g. biv. white in a way all the colors but it has absorbing traits. there is a lot of science to it but to make it short and sweet reflective martial is the best bet as it absorbs and magnifies

  • white ceiling paint will work just as good

  • looks good just dont slip while drilling that hole drill bits dont make a nice clean hole in the knee

  • isnt white Color better as Mylar? I mean white Color means it reflects all colors in the light! Like black absorbs all light....

  • @Idolorene

That is a good question. Im not sure though.

  • @rjcw2 hm :D because here in europe we user "black/white-Foil" on the one site its black and on the other its white. Realy ALL use this^^

  • @rjcw2 Marijuana Grow Bible says white is best.

  • @rjcw2 what type box did you use to start

  • @rjcw2 hes correct

  • @rjcw2 White sheeting reflect 70-80% of all light. Mylar reflect 80-90% of all light. Mylar is definitively better.

  • @Idolorene youre right sir.

  • @Idolorene yes ur right white is better bc it reflects all light i personal would use white

  • @Idolorene Yes White is just as good but funny enough its not Gloss white or just white.....it has to be FLAT white. You can also use aluminum foil as long as you are using CFL's but again the funny part....IT has to be the DULL side of the aluminum foil. Its on the net as well as a major agriculture grow book I read. ;)

  • about the mylar. just buy a space blanket there cheap and it more then anough for a small box

  • Comment removed

  • emergency blankets found in the camping section at walmart work. very cheap too

  • i went to home depot lowes and osh and i cant find any mylar. i even asked all the people that work there.. where can i get this??

  • What about using Mirror panels for the walls, instead of the mylar? Or would that be way to reflective?

  • mirrors actually absorbe more light than the mylar does. I know it doesn't seem like they would but they do.

  • You taught me something. Thanks! Your an awesome You Tuber.

  • @rjcw2 only visible light to your eye and that we do not need for plants.

  • @ftwe1md it would burn the plants.

  • how many light bulbs should i use? I only am going to put one plant

  • can i use aluminum foil????please answer

  • yes but it is not as good. If you use foil use have the dull side facing out not the shinny.

  • @rjcw2 yeah you're right, it's the most ineffective thing to use, it's too crinkly and reflects light at a lot of different small angles so it's virtually useless. I always heard matte white was the best to use. it makes sense it reflects a lot of light, like when you go skiing and you get sunburned because of the snow haaha.

  • @ElValvinosky also aluminum foil can cause hot spots if not perfectly smooth.

  • These portable grow boxes are amazing, I actually was able to germinate and grow mango in one. I live in Canada ;)

  • I didnt see any

  • 0:31, was that a fart hahah lol

  • @jackc29 hahahahha

  • @jackc29 I was cutting the mylar and forgot to mention uhhh ( farrrt ).....he always forgot to mention he was cutting the cheese...lol

  • mirrors absorb a lot of light. Aluminum foil is a better than mirrors, even! If you don't got the money for the mylar, flat white paint is second best option.

  • Mylar -> Aluminum -> Flat White

    in that order

  • @samljer ummmm no, flat white definitely comes before foil

  • Mirrors actually absorb light and distort radiation (increase heat)

  • One thing I did notice is the mylar you used was actually a lot better (better as in thicker) than the space blankets.

But the space blankets should work just fine.

  • Really they sell mylar safety blankets at the dollar store. Iv got one 2 min from my house. Im def going to check into that. Your right. Those mylar rolls can get pricey as hell.

  • hey so was there really mylar safety blankers at the 99cent store?

  • for a much cheaper solution than buying it by the yard is just go to your local dollar store and buy safety blankets that are made of mylar

  • I find putting the mylar in is very annoying, hard to work with cause it tears easy.

  • Yah its not the easiest thing in the world to work with. I simply measure first then cut with a very sharp blade. Then I lay it in position then lift each corner and put a little hot glue on it.
