Hi. I have talktalk broadband up to 8Mb...I got a microfilter in the phone socket where i plug the phone cable and the 20metres cable to my router...and then i got the normal i think 1 meter cable from the router to my pc...do u think its slow coz of the 20 meters cable from the socket downstairs to the router. i was told that its better to have a long cable between the router and the pc rather than the socket and the router..is that true?

please help me.

Yes, you're completely correct. Ethernet cable (especially CAT5/CAT6 is lightning fast, I mean you would not notice any difference then if the cable was 1inch long than if it was 30m long, it's that fast.

Also, the slow speed might be due to a bad sync rate which was caused by intereference (meaning your SNR, signal noise ratio is low which is caused by electrical interference) you can remove the ring wire in your socket, do google to increase the sync rate which ultimately speedsupurnet.

all truth... cant beleive there's a lot of videos saying "Speed up ur bandwith connection 20% on Windows Vista/Xp"..

but... u might help me.. I have shared connection on my house... i pay for all of it so i want to be able to limit their connection while im using it, priorize my computer over everyone else or priorize certain applications(or ports)..

.... i know its possible... what software can i use??..
