Hey Sawing, rember one film from SS from the early 90's(it HAD to be) about three guys waiting on the bus and this goofy looking guy who never spoke, wore glasses and a black derby hat,had a radio and had a dancing contest, then when the bus pulled up they waved the driver on and they just danced to wherever they were going? If you EVER find this PLEASE upload it!:P
Could someone please tell me what this tune is-- not the Old McDonald part, but the introductory "verse music?" I swear I've heard it with other lyrics.
It seems as if Old MacDougall's bugle is crazy-glued to his mouth! He must've got too close to the Muppet Labs super adhesive! And did anyone notice how Cookie has a tendency to push Old MacDougall out of the way during the song?
Cookie Monster likes to Google--probably to search for new cookie recipes...along with "Dance Myself To Sleep" the songwriters seemed to like bugling in this period.
"Whenever you ready, Frog, we do this." I love how matter-of-fact Cookie Monster is about the whole thing. I think it's because it didn't involve cookies. "Me come, do my thing, collect check, me out of here."
I'm pretty sure I've heard Cookie Monster call Kermit by his given name before. Anyway, this is a great skit- (seems like I may have seen it some years ago as a child- the bugler looks familiar- maybe he's in other stuff too?) And it was nice to Kermit back in a familiar role of introducing musical numbers :-)
Old McDougall sure does well with that bugle. He kind of reminds me of Lips from the Muppet Show. I think he's performed by Martin P. Robinson here.

Anybody notice it's not a bugle? (it's a trumpet he's holding) Great bit in any case! Bravo!

At the end of his bugle playing, I yelled "CHARGE!!!"

@bennyraven The song "Jump Shout Boogie" sounds somewhat similar. Perhaps that's what you're thinking of?
