I think he actually wanted to start his own label (which he did: Roswell Records) and release the first album with no credits whatsoever. The credits ended up on the album but it was just him and an engineer from the studio; and somebody played lead guitar on one track. That aside, Grohl did all the instruments and vocals on every song.
