CL65 is a great ride. just the fact that it is that close to te ZR1 is amazing... Think about it... the CL 65 holds 4 people (comfortably) and it weighs a bunch more... supreme luxury and speed... how many V12 twin turbos are even made by manufacturers... of course te CL65 amg cost about 60+k more than a zr1...

In a 1/4 mile race with a good driver in the ZR1 it will when on the strip as the fastest stock ZR1 times being a few tenths faster than the GTRs, in a standing mile it will get worse for the GTR. The car is mostly carbon fiber, not plastic, stop watching Top Gear lol, it's just a bumper. The interior is rather bland I will agree but nobody will use either year round

This car does the same as the ZR1 but much better and the CL wasn't developed to drag. When you bring this monster to a tuning garage they can tune this engine to about 1300 HP; enough to beat that ZR1. Case closed I think :)
@RachidNYSE Uhhhh, the corvette has magnetic suspension, pioneered by Chevy, and used by pretty much everybody, including Ferrari. So the whole "bump thing" is taken care of. And yes, the corvette is a daily driver so the "can you sit in it for a while" factor is taken car of. And you wanna talk HP numbers against chevy V8'S??? I've had German cars, including MB. They break down, A LOT. and every time I have to get them fixed it's at least $1000, every time.

ZR1 is a sports car, nothing but speed it the aim. Cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini ,Koenigsegg are Luxury Super Cars, completely different class. ZR1 sacrifices a lot in the way of Luxury for speed that's why it coast 100k. Bugatti and Koenigsegg try and mix super luxury with speed and what you end up with is something very special.

The brakes on the ZR1 are the EXACT SAME brakes that Lambo charges 25 fucking thousand dollars for. It just proves how Lambo charges out the ass cause they can. Vettes will never cost a quarter million, they'll just beat the shit out of cars that do. Putting fine suede on some fucking seats is easy.

some track times has not been updated in compare option , but actually i don't care about other lap times driven by noobs like jeremy clarkson . thats why nurburgring lap means a lot manufacturers hire highly skilled pro drivers not amateurs

Anyway I would like to see how fast the ZR1 is with an average Joe in it, the ZR1 is notoriously hard to drive( Back-end kicks out). The 458 can be driven by a 90 year old woman and still post fast times, shows just how user friend the 458 truly is.

The Enzo came out in 2002 and the FFX began production in 2005. The FFX may be a racing version of the Enzo but that doesn't they cant make a new SL version. It has been rumored that Ferrari will be making new Enzo that will be lighter more powerful and up-to-date than the 2002 model. Seem as the Enzo is still one of the greatest supercars the new one will be only better. 0-60-0 0-100-0 0-150-0 are real performance measurements and 458 kills ZR1 in all of them

i said it was a good car just that it takes tight corners a little rough and that youd need to be a professional race driver or engineer to push it to its limits, especially without the track nannies (traction control devices and computers) doing their job to keep you from over torque and ridiculous tire spin... Jim Mero achieved the times and he is an engineer with a hand in designing both the Z06 and the ZR1, and they are great cars, just built very cheap because they are targeted @ $100,000..

it is by all certain means the fastest, yes, but that doesn't always equate to being the overall best. It is built of cheaper material to save cost and make it affordable, so much more affordable than its competition that it would be a little crazy not to buy one IF you could afford it... that said, I would probably buy something german @ that value, as jeremy clarkson of top gear says, The Zr1 in proper hands is great, but the R8 is better built, better to look at, and in the real world, faster
its a torque monster that can take light turns VERY well, im not saying the ZR1 is a bad car by any means, but it takes a skilled ass mutha fucka to control it around the tighter corners, you can tell this visibly in most all test videos where the car is being pushed to its limits. Obviously these tests are meant to discover and refine these limits, but for the time being it looked very sloppy when it crested the carousel turn near the end of the track ( at the nurburgring... )

and that means the ZR1 is aimed @ 100 grand markets, the zo6 is an even BETTER deal for the price considering it is so much cheaper and you can modify it so greatly. They are great cars, and the fastest on the ring aside from a few niche brand true bred race cars and the claimed time of the GT2 RS, but the cheap material and feel of the corvette can never really attain the same pedigree as a 300,000+ mercedes or porsche 997

In a 1/4 mile race with a good driver in the ZR1 it will when on the strip as the fastest stock ZR1 times being a few tenths faster than the GTRs, in a standing mile it will get worse for the GTR. The car is mostly carbon fiber, not plastic, stop watching Top Gear lol, it's just a bumper. The interior is rather bland I will agree but nobody will use either year round

This car does the same as the ZR1 but much better and the CL wasn't developed to drag. When you bring this monster to a tuning garage they can tune this engine to about 1300 HP; enough to beat that ZR1. Case closed I think :)

And yes, the corvette is a daily driver so the "can you sit in it for a while" factor is taken car of. And you wanna talk HP numbers against chevy V8'S??? LOL Hell, chevy can warranty a 638 HP motor longer then ANYBODY. You don't think you can get a 6.2L V8 to produce over 1300HP?? You don't have a clue..do you??

@namybot first of all, the corvette does have carbon fiber, as well as aluminum, and magnesium for the chassis. Hell, the protective coating for the carbon fiber roof costs 50k A GALLON. The brakes on the ZR1 are the EXACT SAME brakes that Lambo charges 25 fucking thousand dollars for. It just proves how Lambo charges out the ass cause they can. @namybot and just to show how much Ferrari/Lambo overprices their cars all you have to do is look at the carbon ceramic brakes, that are on both the Enzo and the ZR1. If you want to buy a Lambo and equip it with the Brembo brakes you need to shell out 25K!! Ever heard of "price gouging"?? And FYI there are collectors that have paid over a million for vintage vettes that cost 5k new......you cant go of off the spending sprees of the super rich for your reality.

@namybot I'll put it to you this way. Back in the 1980's and 90's if you wanted a 200mph, 0-60 in under 5 seconds car then a Ferrari or Lambo was the only way to go. But now, you can get that in ZR1 for less then half the cost. Now euro fan boys attack the vette for dumb shit. Jeremy Clarkson (who hates vettes on his show, yet owns one himself) said it best when comparing the 599 to the ZR1. "If an alien drove the two cars you'd have a tough time explaining why one is $150k cheaper."

Anyway I would like to see how fast the ZR1 is with an average Joe in it, the ZR1 is notoriously hard to drive( Back-end kicks out). The 458 can be driven by a 90 year old woman and still post fast times, shows just how user friend the 458 truly is.
The Nurburgring is one Lap. 458 is Faster on 14 other tracks. I know which car I trust

On paper ZR1 looks like it's the faster car but cars have a funny way of acting the way you don't always think they will. The 458 "DOES" lap faster over-all on 14 tracks, how many times you want me to say this before you can accept "FACT"?

The Enzo came out in 2002 and the FFX began production in 2005. The FFX may be a racing version of the Enzo but that doesn't they cant make a new SL version. It has been rumored that Ferrari will be making new Enzo that will be lighter more powerful and up-to-date than the 2002 model. Seem as the Enzo is still one of the greatest supercars the new one will be only better. 0-60-0 0-100-0 0-150-0 are real performance measurements and 458 kills ZR1 in all of them

i said it was a good car just that it takes tight corners a little rough and that youd need to be a professional race driver or engineer to push it to its limits, especially without the track nannies (traction control devices and computers) doing their job to keep you from over torque and ridiculous tire spin... Jim Mero achieved the times and he is an engineer with a hand in designing both the Z06 and the ZR1, and they are great cars, just built very cheap because they are targeted @ $100,000..

it is by all certain means the fastest, yes, but that doesn't always equate to being the overall best. It is built of cheaper material to save cost and make it affordable, so much more affordable than its competition that it would be a little crazy not to buy one IF you could afford it... that said, I would probably buy something german @ that value, as jeremy clarkson of top gear says, The Zr1 in proper hands is great, but the R8 is better built, better to look at, and in the real world, faster

its a torque monster that can take light turns VERY well, im not saying the ZR1 is a bad car by any means, but it takes a skilled ass mutha fucka to control it around the tighter corners, you can tell this visibly in most all test videos where the car is being pushed to its limits. Obviously these tests are meant to discover and refine these limits, but for the time being it looked very sloppy when it crested the carousel turn near the end of the track ( at the nurburgring... )

and that means the ZR1 is aimed @ 100 grand markets, the zo6 is an even BETTER deal for the price considering it is so much cheaper and you can modify it so greatly. They are great cars, and the fastest on the ring aside from a few niche brand true bred race cars and the claimed time of the GT2 RS, but the cheap material and feel of the corvette can never really attain the same pedigree as a 300,000+ mercedes or porsche 997

If I was trying to find something like the SL65 black but 1/3rd the price, I would grab a ZR1. Again, I'm not dissing the car man, I just said it was cheap compared to the relative competition. Cheap doesn't necessarily mean slow or bad, look at the GT-R, in the nineties look at the Acura / honda NSX race models
