  • Best version of this tune.

  • greatest movie of all time.........we are not worthy lol

  • After watching this epic movie, I have a much better appreciation of the songs of that era. This music set the scenes so wonderfully.

  • Hoagy Carmichael wrote a great song that so many jazz and pop artist have sung.

  • greatest movie ever!!!

  • i like u put the clip at airport on Ray at 1:10 - it fits good because it's the same song that plays in that scene in the movie

  • You haven't heard this song until you've heard Johnny Mathis' version from 1975.

  • This was a big hit in 1957...way before Goodfellows was even thought of////

Many people associate it with the movie///but is was popular nd was on the charts in 1957

  • I actually had to listen to the lyrics on the movie in this scene to find this song:D thanks for posting this man.

  • @171apples171 I know, I would type little peices of lyrics into google or youtube and see what I got.

  • Owesome......the best!

  • Looking for years for these versions of Stardust & Deep Purple, but couldn't remember the artist. Just got the idea of Googling "Doo wop song Stardust" & it came up halfway down the page. They both bring back so many memories! Thank you so very very much.

  • great movie great cast great song

  • What a timeless, amazing song. Phenomenal

  • It's amazing how violent people were in those days when music was so relaxing! I can't imagine stabbing somebody when this song is playing!

  • Excellent video! Do you really want to make approximately 370 Us dollars each and every morning? Much more than 4128 pleased individuals are making use of the software currently! Pay a visit to roulettecash ( ) org

  • Popular songs years ago (Before 1960) by ASCAP law you needed to compose a verse. This was to discredit plagerisim. Hoagy Carmichael out did himself writing this verse. Chorus is equally as beautiful. it was great to have lived those years, especially in the music business.

  • I'm thinking there's another doo wop group that copies billy ward's version of stardust (the way he sings the start etc)

anyone know who it might be?

  • You've just learned the two most important lessons in life; Never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut.

  • @GreatestHooligan thats the best advice i ever got at 18 when a 65 yr old Italian co worker said: you keepa you much shut and your eyes open & you be ok.

  • As R&B fans were turning to groups such as the Midnighters, Drifters, Platters and Penguins, Ward still had not found a niche in pop music. His one-year contract with Decca expired and he moved his group again, this time to Liberty Records in April 1957. Finally he got the pop hit for which he had been striving since the Dominoes were formed. With the new lead voice of Eugene Momford, formerly with the Larks, "Star Dust" made #13 on the Top 100 in the summer of 1957 and sold for 24 weeks.

  • @Planetbinxs Damn Good Slide Show Dude!

  • @EMOSLAYER16 Thank's, Iam glad you like it.

  • @Planetbinxs Thanks for that history. I never knew why they didn't hit it big. This is the music that I remember from my time of birth and realizing there was such music in the world. This has to be the most beautiful version of that song ever. I loved the Dominos...my older siblings had their music on 78s. Probably some still in the family. Go guys, go. Thanks!

  • every song did martin scorsese dosent mess around

  • i watched it... wtf it did? lol oh well... Goodfellas = best movie ever

  • For the longest time, I thought Billy Ward sang lead on this... Then, as the poster farther below points out, I learned it was Gene Mumford. You think about Billy, Jackie Wilson, Clyde McFatter first...hardly ever thinking of Gene Mumford. But props to Gene. This is one of the all-timers.

  • @vvollero at least scorsese got his oscar already!

  • Amazing Job ! Especially love the close - up of Sorvino slicing the garlic .

  • Great Song, I like the video too! Perfect!!!

  • What a group - Billy Ward,Jackie Wilson, Clyde McPhatter and Gene Mumford. I met Gene Mumford in my travels and he told me a few great stories. They just don't make em like this anymore.

  • Fuckking luv this movie my favorite of all time boii !

  • What year was this tune released?

  • I believe it was in summer or fall of 1957...It was sang by Gene Mumford making it their first 1 million selller.

  • @Planetbinxs Someone tried to take this video off right?

  • @lordvoldemort578 NOpe!...Im glad to have made this awesome video. Thanks again to all of you for watching my video.

  • @Planetbinxs Great video make more with Pictures.

  • there were two great lead singers that sang lead WITH the dominoes ,clyde mcphatter (the drifters)and jackie wilson(lonely teardrops)

  • Idlewild airport 1963 :D

  • this is hoagy carmichaels song. hoagy wrote it, billy ward and the dominoes did it later. this is my favorite version tho. one of my favorite movies also, this takes me back. scorsese did this song justice more than almost any other tune in that movie.

stardust, written by hoagy carmichael. great post! man!

  • you are right on holly. but again this is sung by eugene mumford.billy ward was the leader of the group but never the lead singer

  • billy ward never sang lead with the dominoes.this is eugene mumford

  • Some...times... IIIIIIIIIIII...... wonder why I spend

    The lonely night dreaming of a song;

    The melody haunts my reverie

And I am once again with you.

  • god this song moves me

    top 3 favorite songs ever

  • Would anyone nominate Billy Ward as one of the finest, purest voices of the last half century or so of music? Tony Williams/ Platters, Rudy West/Five Keys, Arlene Smith/Chantels, Willie Winfield/Harptones...others??? "Star Dust" - a stirring rendition of a Hoagy Charmichal-Mitchell Parish classic. You ain't got a heart beat if you don't soar with Ward's pipes.

  • @999gojoey Willie Winfield,Lee Andrews,Earl Lewis,Clovers,Vocaleers,Promineers,Coronets,Danleers,Teardrops,Belmonts,Moonglows

  • are you implying that old music is no good?

  • Read. I love old music. It's all new music that I hate. Why have you lot thumbed down my comment? I like this song too and I've had it on my MP3 for six months.

  • Thanks for putting this up. I noticed you had a better quality sound then others on you tube.

  • im 16, i think goodfellas is the best movie of all time, and this is an awesome song

  • Cheers to that!

  • I thought Ray was hot in this movie, really good looking!

  • I'm gonna go get the papers get the papers. - Johnny Two Times

  • i love this song im only 15 but i like the oldies

like this one and Doo Woop

  • You're 15? Three years until you can watch Goodfellas, friend!!!!

Only kidding. You have good taste for a young 'un.

  • paully

  • You can't tell from my videos, butt, I think he loves me too! Thanks, brother! I have lots of mah people in Texas too!!! Nice state, indeed!

  • I was always embarrassed of my Dad cuz he's just a small union plumber in iowa with no education. i always thought he was, well, you know, kinda slow.

the only thing he ever taught me was to barter my trade and this song.

    i love him.

  • Myl guess is that your dad did the best he could, and I hope he knew you loved him...Life is not always easy or perfect. Paul / Texas

  • i cant do a plumbers job

your dad may not have had alot of formal education...but he isnt "slow"

  • I can't fit pipes like Dad, but I try and pay attention to his craft to pick up whatever crumbs fall from the table ya know.

And, he IS "slow"...like a turtle. Slow n steady wins the race he says...;)

  • oh.....slow....

just like my dad....who feels that any job done must be done right...which means taking ones time

  • yup yup. take ur time. like garden we just built out back. took forever ugh. "each stone has to be level" he kept saying for all 666 of them. took forever.

  • ya...but i bet it looks great

and i bet your dad never has to redo any of the plumbing jobs he does either

doing a good job is a skill that is being lost in this country

your dad is a great man

  • This video is suspect. The jacket is suspect. Butt, I will spend the TIME to learn if what u r saying is REAL LOVE. I will never b a judge. Butt, I will LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY. That is what is real.

  • godfellas e il padrino i migliori!!!

  • I love this song & the movie, Goodfellas is one of the best movies ever made!

  • @Mileys09 To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen a better movie. Everything comes together in it.

  • beautful song

  • This is my crew and I's favourite song at Camp!!! It reminds me of a song mi esposa used to whisper in my ear, oh, Pamela Springs...

  • I totally remember that. I think she really does love you. I see it clearly in black and white. Hang on, brother. Heartaches take a lifetime to heal.

  • Yeah, I think so too. You can't fake real love. That's why you should never, never, never, never, never, never say you love someone unless you mean it. That is not playing by our rules. Keep ur head up, Kid. She'll come around.

  • That is true. Real love never dies. Never. I know the Golden Rose personally, and even when she does not have the words in her vocabulary to explain how he sits the way he does real little like, when he squats down, he just sits in her frontal lobe. Can't explain some things. Don't have to. It is what it is.

  • great work mate :) 5 stars awesome film aswell :D

  • Good Job.
