  • If you were REALLY brave. You'd stand up and say "Fuck Kim Jong Un!!!"

  • Haha, I love it how you inspect the sandwich (:

  • wow, that is pretty cool, I bet being a pilot or flight attendent is about the hardest job to get in North Korea, I bet they dont even let them get off of the plane!

  • That Illushin 62 plane sounds quite loud!!! It ain't no"whisper-jet"!!!

  • North korea has plans thats crazy???

  • in your honest opinion, is the DPRK nice place to visit? I was thinking about this for while now and I really wanna go... Let me know your opinion.

    Thanks

  • Looks about as luxurious as any airline based in the US. Nobody yell, I'm American (and fly twice a week), so I have a right to say that...ha ha.

Seriously, nice video brother. You are a brave soul for going North Korea and even braver for getting on that puddle-jumper plane!

  • @crocodile1313 I have flown on Air Koryo nine times. I am either brave or crazy but I am a survivor.

  • @zaruka Why do you go there so much?

Also have you seen the Ryugyong hotel? It's real interesting, I'm just like too afraid to go there with their insane government... and yes you're brave.

  • Looks like they use GOBS of flaps on take off.

  • I wouldn't fly in Russia, let alone on a Russian made plane maintained by NK. And before you claim some BS numbers, do the averages. There are thousands of US manufactured planes in the skies any given day.

  • Thank you North Korea for saving my Life. I went there 3 years ago for a Kidney transplant..

Only cost 1000 dollars.. They used a kidney from a prisoner, Wish my country did this

  • @1111cfnm r u serious?? that's disgusting. o_o

maybe it was an innocent person people come in jail for nothing there eh! horrible. I think it's pretty sick... :'( I think that is taking advantage of those poor people. can't believe that is true.

  • @1111cfnm

U can have mine for 900 dollars.. and im in Finland so if u ever stop by let me know!

  • @1111cfnm WTF are you serious?

  • That airline is on the black list of EU´s airlane rankings, right?

  • It takes cojones of brass to fly on a Russian-made airliner...

  • @23021955

Why? Nearly all Russian plane crashes were caused by failure of the pilots. Boeings for example have much more crashes caused by technical failures of the planes.

From the technical point of view most Russian planes are superior regarding safety. Also there are many Russian manufacturers... Tupolev, Antonov, Sukhoi, Iljuschin, Yakovlev...so saying Russian made is a bit inaccurate.

  • @natsplit

This is such a bullshit. MAK (Межгосударственный авиационный комитет) is one of the most corrupt tools of Russian government. They always say that it was pilots fault. Read some more about russian planes crashes. The truth is russians don't really care about the safety.

  • @Kuhlfurst That plane is Russian made.

  • got to love the so call sandwich with god knows if that even meat, Is this what they serve in first class.....shithole country

  • Why would you go to north korea?

  • @platinum243125 Because it is there. You tell me I cannot do something and I will plot how to do it. Actually it is easy.

  • @zaruka Can't you be taken hostage or killed for being from the outside? How easy was it to get in?

  • @zaruka You can't finish with Nkorean government!

  • @platinum243125 What, don't you like seeing the occasional freak show?

  • Call me a bigot but I'd think twice before using North Korean aircraft to get from A to B.

  • what is the attraction of going to north korea?, is there much to see there or is it just that it is a isolated communist country that intrigues you? I'm not trying to sound like a dick or anything but I am just curious.

  • @fruiteo You've answered your question. North Korea is cut off from the outside world and too get in is a miracle! I've been twice with a tour group, and it's history and the way it's run. There is just something about it that really appealed too me. The flight from Beijing to Pyongyang was the scariest! A peice of rope to save your life if the plane goes down. The train which takes 26 hours from Pyongyang to Beijing is amazing! You see the countryside and everything! Oh and the girls are hot

  • OMG they should be ashamed serveing that sandwich .

  • Why didn't you take a flight with Air China to Pyongyang? I think they fly from Beijing to Pyongyang and back?!

  • @Kopfgeldjaeger2010 We are given no choice. I have taken Air Koryo flights nine times now and Air China only once out of Pyongyang. We take what we are given.

  • @zaruka

How long does it take from Beijing to Pyongyang? Have you been scared to fly with Air Koryo?

  • @Kopfgeldjaeger2010 About 90 minutes. No fear. To get to go to strange places you sometimes have to go out on the ledge. When the landing gear overheated on landing and smoked really bad that was more interesting than frightening. Some photos of that are on my Flickr site - user Zaruka.

  • @zaruka God, how did you get to north korea?!

  • @TheBloody071 By using Koryo Tours. It's a British tour company tied to the North Korean government. Anyone can go to North Korea.

  • Reuse cups.

  • i looked on ur profile, and it says that u r american. so how the hell did u get into north korea????????

  • @XAVIXguy americans are still allowed into north korea lol. just at different times from everyone else. it's on theyre tourist website lmao :D

  • @XAVIXguy On a tour. Americans have been going in for 14 years now. Want to go? email me for instructions. I am going in again.

  • @XAVIXguy ya they say Americans are not allowed in north korea

  • i think that bun looked quite tasty to be honest ._.

  • @BI2i i agree, id didnt look too bad

  • Air Koryo is not allowed to fly in the EU

  • I flew from Mexico City to Havana on a Cubana Tupolev in 1997, and it was much more delapidated inside than this plane. The food was better, though. On the return flight, we were on a leased modern European jet, and the experience was basically the same as Mexicana or any other non-first world airline.

  • haha! about that sandwich...Where's the beef?

  • How in the gods name did u manage to go to NK?...

  • @burnit01 There's tours organised by the government I believe

  • @burnit01 Fly from Beijing to Pyongyang. Not that hard really.

  • hot women wow

  • Hold on........this isn't another NK gov. propaganda now is it????

  • Where you allowed to film this? Just curious

  • @highihigh Yes you can film, just not everything. I tend to take some film on each trip into North Korea.

  • Brave Man - I dont know which is the more foolhardy ; flying on a decomissioned 1950's tupolev, filming outside of the plane and being accused of spying or eating that revolting looking bun.

  • @jontibloom By far eating that sandwich is the most foolhardy thing I have done.

  • @zaruka thats the best u'll be able to get. Dont be picky in NK. dont expect much

  • @jontibloom think its just butter.

  • wo,the girl is so delicious

  • Could be worse though, Ryanair.

  • Other than the terrible crashes LOT poland had, the IL62 is decent, i would love to go on one. Though my fave is the IL86, that had no accidents at all, bar a delivery accident, but that happened with the 707 aswell. Though being a British type i will always prefare the VC-10 :P...which the IL62 is a sort of looky-likey xD

  • its a sueside misson !

  • ehh... Mc Donald's have a worst meat.

  • I fucking died when i saw the meal

  • HERE IS YOUR BAG OF RADIOACTIVE NUTS.....NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP AND ENJOY THE FLIGHT.....STUPID AMERICAN IMPERIALISTS

  • Plane is probably an Ilyushin IL-62.

  • @BubeslaaB Indeed it is.

  • what type of camera did u use?

  • @oblivion185 A cheap Samsung and a KodakZ1012.

  • Flight Attendant: "Don't be alarmed by the wing falling off, that happens all the..." BOOM

  • I bet there are hand cuffs instead of seat belts on that plane !

  • i don't blame them for the small meat in the bun they are probably starving

  • was it hard to get into and how was the tv and the news papers like and food what did you eat

  • @lokalllize Not hard at all, just sign up for the tour. I go every year. TV is the all Kim channel! All Kim all the time every day! I watch every night and see the same thing I saw last year. No newspapers in 2008, a few in 2009 and now the newspapers are back. My stills are on Flickr user Zaruka.

  • @zaruka Hey i now this may sound weird but im 19 and going soon was wondering wheather or not you can actually pick up women there im not talking prostitues. Actual women like if you wooed someone? Ive got a thing for koreans

  • @zaruka is it a expenive to travel as tourist in North Korea?

  • @zaruka You go there every year? Why?

  • @TimUkulele Education and photography. It is one of the best places in the world to photograph. It is also like going back in time 50 years.

  • THEY ALLOW AMERICANS!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • North Korea's airline should think about expanding their business. It seems pleasant compared to the american shit airlines.

  • @ZImpresive Yeah fucking right. They don't even have TV's on their seats or wifi. If you all you do is talk out of your ass about a jet that is worth way more then you or anything you own. Then, well you know...

  • @ZImpresive Are Indians are allowed in North KOrea??

  • I wonder where they put the microphone in that sandwich.

  • what are the safety standards like on those aircraft?

    i shudder to think!

  • @eworldplanet They are like the safety standards of World War II Aircraft :)

  • @eworldplanet It is very safe. You never hear of a crash do you?? (Old Aeroflot joke)

  • @zaruka haha!

  • I was expecting some shitty air stewardess but OMG

  • @MrBurberryMan The secret of Air Koryo - the stewardesses. Check the Air Koryo group on Flickr.

  • Those passengers could look more interested after all they've just left (North Korea) the world's largest prison as some people think of it!

  • @CorrectFiqh

    "the world's largest prison"

A person can be happy in a prison just as another can be unhappy in a mansion

  • Air Koryo is banned to fly into EU-area because it safety level is too low

  • fraps 30 degrees, check

  • pinche comida vale verga que dan los coreanos del norte, jeje. ahh pero que ricas aeromosas XD

  • Haha, the guy at 03:15 doesn't seem too impressed at your filming!

  • How was your Dear Leader burger?

  • hey, it looks better than easyjet

  • that meat patty looks like something you wont get out of one of those "sliders" burgers.

In North Korea i bet if you brought a big mac, you would be surrounded by hundreds of koreans.

  • don't object at the meat patty ... average north korean gets to eat that much meat in a whole month.

  • There is no way I'd get on some 30 year old ex-Soviet aeroplane.

    Congrats on surviving this ordeal.

  • hmm i wonder if that plane was also half to lack of fill of engine petrol... im kinda scared and think twice before boarding the plane. :(

  • did they allow smoking onboard?

  • Fake - there's no portrait of the dear leader !!!!

  • @HesseJamez lol i agree

  • The inflight food would be a no no.

  • do \they have coke on the flight?

  • Still. It beats fucking Ryanair any day of the week!

  • You call that hospitality? I can eat 20 of those little teenee weenee poxy rolls!

  • that plane had a diesel engine ?

  • Interesting fact about some of the literature in the pockets behind the seats. You may very well find information brochures about American war crimes from 1950-1953. I kid you not.

  • FOR YOUR REFUSES

  • @aegisfate117 even italians are not so ignorant to translate in this way

  • lol at 2:22

    AIRPLANE FOOD

  • not bad burger ... much better than many western airlines

  • @marcelopepinho Of course! Don't you know Kim Jong-Il invented the hamburger?

  • @bridgecross Or wasn't that the hotdog?

  • I wouldnt eat that "burger" or whatever that was. Its probably human meat from a dead inmate from a labor camp

  • Guess Lipitor would be a money loser in KN.

  • Can they accomodate vegetarians? I know Air China can't.

  • It would have been really funny if Air Koryo was to have crashed into Sunan Airport in Pyongyang, North Korea.

  • That thing they gave you to eat on the airplane is more than what the average korean will eat in a lifetime

  • @cccplt The flight is only one hour, so do you need more food? of does american airlines gives you more? And dont judge the people by a consummering a tons of calories like in USA. Its not all about food.

  • @doberman921 I made a satirical joke, clearly you didn't get it.

  • 2:30 those Korean meatballs REALLY are the dog's bollocks

  • Sind diese Flugzeuge nicht ärgstens absturzgefährdet ?

  • Sandwich meat made of 100% North Korean!

  • @soulshock When I say wonderful, I don't mean it literally, or collectively. Pyongyang in itself just looks like a very pretty and intriguing city, even if it is just a show city put on by the government. I'm tired of people lecturing me on that comment. I know my facts about North Korea. Everyone needs to get there panties out of a wad and chill out. I know how bad it is.

  • were you allowed to actually film on the plane ? Cuz it looks like u kept the camera hidden

  • Unsafe and terrible Russian aircraft, flown by brainwashed poorly trained pilots...... PASS.

  • Are Americans welcomed? and how much was it

  • @KevinRomero You fly on Air Koryo as part of a tour purchased in advance. You can go for three, five, eight or even 17 days on a tour. On the longer tours you can have a few flights on AIr Koryo. Americans are welcomed and are allowed in with mixed groups now. Before we had to be in all American groups.

  • Pretty sad-looking sandwich, but still a lot better than nothing.

  • At least they serve food. On US flights, you'd be lucky to get a bag of peanuts.

  • @FoneArc what the hell kind of airlines do you travel on?

  • @PwnforceFrank JetBlue 2nd class coach. The bright side with Air Koryo is that there are no classes - everyone is treated equally as per the Communist doctrine. LOL.

  • @FoneArc hehehe, very true. I just flew from Boston to Chicago a few days ago and all I got was a ginger ale :(

  • Very informative - thanks for posting and also thanks for the comments re Koryo Tours

  • Fluggesellschafft still flies?

  • in case of emergency, bend down and kiss own ass goodbye.

  • @ebutuoymp3 Lololol made my day

  • @ebutuoymp3 hahaha fucking hillarious!

  • Sounds like the plain is about to blow up!

  • it's sometimes the slice of life videos like these that inform the most.

  • I suppose, in regard to the government agents watching/following you everywhere in N. Korea.... the only difference between their system, and the one in the US, is that in North Korea, you can see them watching you...

  • @TokyoMetal777 then how do you know that the us goverment is following you? Or perhaps its just a stupid assumption you made.

  • @TokyoMetal777 exactly, its more transparent in north korea.

  • @TokyoMetal777 Man you are brainwashed!

  • @ImHDZx To the contrary, he is not. He is active of his sorroundings, and of government policies and of how the state is basically tracking you around everywhere. YOU are brainwashed.

  • @akbarism1 Lol, You're funny. Please just go cry somewhere else and watch some more Alex Jones because you have no life, You are an idiot brainwashed into thinking we are brainwashed.

  • @ImHDZx Really? I wrote an educated comment and all you can do is angrily rant emptily? If you want me to rebutt an educated comment filled with ideas and facts, and not of something crafted by an asinine pinhead (which, judging from your comment, I can safely assume that you are) then lay back in that nice lawnchair of yours and open a relevant book. Please reply with a smart statement and rebutt my other comment in a spirited manner. TRY AGAIN.

  • @TokyoMetal777 lol true that!

  • @TokyoMetal777 HA awesome statement!

  • @TokyoMetal777 And the USG tends not to arrest you and your family for slagging off Obama and then test chemical weapons on you or leave you starving in a reeducation camp for 20 years. Apart from that America is just like North Korea.

  • @MullParsha Dude, you are just... SO wrong. Shot to death for recording in the USA? Have you been living in North Korea so long that you're used to it when a nation kills its own people?

    You're f**king retarded.

  • Comment removed

  • Excellence in Flight. Korean Air.....oh wait......

  • Is it true that they have espace ropes on board and that they don't give safety tips?

  • Food looks about the same

  • Would love to visit North Korea, though im from the UK. I know there is a British embassy there, but will they allow us? - Is it safe? what is the general cost/worth of it all?

Hope you can answer. Cheers for the amazing video too!

  • Hell, that food looks beter than what you get on American Airlines and AA makes you pay $10 for it!

  • @63gstone yeah but Aer Lingus also gives free meals, and it's ALOT better than this! ;)

  • I am sure Wendy's would be saying "Wheres the beef" looking at that attempt at some kind of Hamburger they served you.

  • What a fascinating country. I've always been intrigued by closed countries. Despite their troubles (and there are many), people are people. Thanks for posting this. I also checked out your Flickr page and it was great! Love the traffic girls! ;-)

  • for your refuses

  • people are you nuts?

    worlds biggest prison camp!

what is so fascinating about it stupid?

    where is the common sence?

  • How did you get to North Korea???

  • Did the stewardess really say: Coffee, tea or me? = P

  • What is it? The meal at 2:34 looks like something left in the field/

  • It's fascinating cos North Korea is so isolated and mysterious... why fly on that piece of junk when Korean Air has the A380?
