i have a little female black bird with me now,, my cat caught her,, i dnt even kno if shes injured or if she is,, shes in to much shock and i dnt want her to panick more,, i have her in a shoe box with a little bit of material,, any1 got any advice for me,, i dnt wnt her to diie :( :( :( shes so pretty,, and helpless, and i HATE my cat for it! ,, some1 help me please,, x

Oh no, that's awful. There is no chance for the little blackbird now as a cat's siliva is poisonous. At least you have her in a box and away from your cat. The best thing you can do from now on is to make sure your cat wears two or three bells on his/her collar. I know this sounds like a lot but one bell just doesn't work. Cats are the main culprits for dramatic wild bird decline.  If at all possible, keep your cat as an indoor pet.

You must try and feed them "unpreserved" sultanas - all blackbirds are simply MAD about these! :-)

phatomxr ADDENDUM2.Larger songbirds are easier targets for hawks in strong winds.Less agile and cannot fit into denser foliage,flightpath is more predictable,Only fractional differences but in evolutionary terms they are vital.The Blackbird occasionally leans forward,tail in line with head {fulcrum] and scurries across the grass.Like a miniature dinosaur,Raptor,Light hollow bones evolved for some dinosaurs.They did not die out. To phantomxr, addendum.Sometimes blackbirds appear to do a little dance,drumming their feet,on short grass, Emulating the vibrations of raindrops,The worm associates this with softer soil. Anticipating in a similar manner to humans when they are about to recieve their favourite meal. Regards wisful

To phantomxr, During milder weather rain brings worms close to the surface birds that are heavily dependent on them often sing while it is still raining to refresh their territorial claim. Instinctivly knowing their is easily obtained food. In a word Anticipation. Regards. wisfull

nice. my favorite is the thrasher. when it sings sometimes it will chatter and make musical sounds for an hour, never repeating the same phrase. it especially seems to like to sing after a big storm but at other times will create different songs

ahhhhhhhhhhh that blackbird is so lovely singing man i love blackbirds too but my most favourite is collared dove and grey heron and robin sparrow blue tit but blackbirds are still my lovely bird aswell lovely blackbird that is singing ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh........

Gravedig I´m not sure but I guess the female birds don´t sing at all. It´s the male ones who sing from a high position to wow the girls and mark the territory in case they already found a girl :)
