Specifically, R&B and Soul of the 1960s. Listen to people like Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Sly and the Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Ojays, even the "blue-eyed soul" of Hall and Oates to some extent, but definitely a broad smattering of the Philadelphia sound... and on and on.
