@Ducksrule123 I wouldn't say that he deserved it 10x more, it's just that whereas the Devils had guys like Brodeur, Stevens, and Scott Niedermayer who all contributed equally to their success, the Ducks had ridden Giguere the entire way and was much more valuable to his team than any one of those guys had been by themselves.

@sizzle949 thats true that the devils had many pieces to the puzzle, but the conn smythe trophy is awarded to the MVP of the playoffs...the most valuable player. There is no doubt that giguere was the most valuable player to his team in the playoffs. Take jiggy away from the ducks and there is no way they even win a game against detroit in the first round, thats how good he was that year. fuck yeah he carried the team on his back, and he was awarded with the conn smythe

Marty had 3 SOs in that series, he should have won it. the ducks won what 2 games in ot? they could have went either way. having jsg win the mvp was worse than winning a cup on the road imo.

Marty, Friesen, Madden and Langenbrunner were definitely runner ups. But throughout the four rounds the one who carried the ducks was in fact JSG i mean in the third round he only let out 1 goal in the entire series, ONE. as much as i love marty i dont see him ever doing that...

Yeah I hate the devils but Marty is the best ever and he never would have done that! JSG deserved it that was an INSANE run...nobody has ever been as hot as JSG was in the first 3 rounds and without him the Ducks would have been swept out of the cup finals.
