  • such sadness. seeing this in contrast to how i feel makes me feel better.

  • everyone should read and fully understand the definition of Conceptual Art before they retrieve things out of their ass and post them on here in comment form..

  • I like the idea of the video, but there are better ways to express sadness than through borderline slapstick, comical, melodramatic pantomiming.

  • @waalkwriter what you just stated is an opinion. what i'm stating now is a fact.

  • @digitalarturo I'm not a neophyte when it comes to art or acting. I simply can't stand over-expressiveness and melodrama in an acting style; it goes against the grain of my aesthetics. It is that simple.

  • @yhallotharlol U really have a warped idea about Art. I could hazard a guess what your idea of true art is... Unfortunately just because u think something is "unremarkable" does NOT necessarily mean that it is unremarkable. Art is subjective. Your response is subjective. Just don't pretend u r some authority on Art. This bit just doesnt make any sense whatsoever "I doubt many championing the artistic value of this would think it was good if they didn't know it is supposed to be good." WTF #fail

  • It is something for someone to do this whether for actors learning a part or a person just letting go of sadness. It is as if the person is going through stages sadness then acceptance, contemplation too.

  • [To Me] This is beautiful. It Is HUMANITY, Art is a short word, that implies more judgement than a true oportunity of living this as it is, being while seeing someone too sad to tell you...

  • The ability to pause this does not contribute to its effect.

  • I have a feeling this thing is brainwashing me like that one video did in The Ring.....

  • it would have been better if he was naked. or taking a dump. or both

  • art!

  • Is it me or did georgina starr sort of lift this for her film?

  • yo lloro mucho mejor. no obstante, qué hombre más guapo, dan ganas de que te haga muequitas de esas en la barriga y notar que te mojan las lágrimas.

los labios en blanco y negro.

  • wtf is this?!?!?!?

  • this is beautiful

  • If it were Warhol, those who don't understand this would understand.. Warhol is famous for this type of films.. Later associated with ephemeral female video artists.. in the 90's just in time for the MTV era. ..

    This is Art!!

  • when one is an artist, he would expect to see art. Since I am an artist that must mean I don't even know music or poetry. Still looking for the point, I don't want to belittle the guy. For all those who liked it, cool. enjoy. The rest of these remarks referring to mine are rubbish. Comment on the video. waa my opinion doesnt count? who cares?

  • dont you feel it rather controlling and awkward to tell people: THIS IS ART. THIS IS WHAT I WANTED TO DO, THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS AND MEANS. its crazy...

to be an "artist," which is pretty awful to point out directly, should be the opposite. art is something to be interpreted by the viewers, dont you think? art provokes feelings by not having any of its own, thats the point. it confines us/you otherwise. you cant tell ME what it says or doesnt say, its always different to different ppl <3

  • @TheMreminent

Your opinion doesn't count any more than anyone else's because you consider yourself an artist, so why bother to point it out.

  • that way you might see im not some jackass that remarks for nothing.

  • It's so heart wrenching.

  • Laughing through your teeth.

  • Breathing through the mouth.

  • Grand ...

  • the master ..

  • Wow my english 103 class is really helping view media, art, tv, everything in a more neath, and in deep detail. Nice i likee!!!!!! (^_^)

at first i had tought the computer in the library didnt work lol... bc i couldnt hear anything! lmao! until i asked and got info that the video was meant to be with no audio lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • nice.

  • Bas Jan's film and video works have finally been released on DVD - hereisalwayssomewhereelse (dot) com

  • Sadness is relevant to everyone. Your little comment wasn't particularly constructive; shouldn't you be busy sitting on the UN security council or something rather than commenting bitterly?

  • You were bored by three and a half minutes of someone's apparent sadness. That says something in and of itself.

  • @eight9three Try to find me something that isn't that way.

  • @jumpyduck I don't know what that means

  • @eight9three Watching anything is saying something in and of itself.

  • For you personally, is mourning some great loss (say, the death of a loved one) exactly equivalent to clipping your toenails?

    Think really hard.

  • Puchito, this is art. It is not attempting any grand political or social gesture. It does not want to save the world, it just wants to be looked at. Did Monét try to cure cancer with his paintings? Did Beethoven's symphonies solve world hunger? No. Your comment, therefore, is redundant. I say get off your high horse and learn the difference between politics and art.

  • @electronictrash This may be art, but it is boring art. You define art as something that "wants to be looked at." Well, in my opinion, if this video wants to be looked at, it's doing a shitty job of it. It isn't beautiful, ugly, well or poorly made, controversial, thought provoking, or even very emotionally provoking. It's only remarkable in that it is entirely unremarkable. I doubt many championing the artistic value of this would think it was good if they didn't know it is supposed to be good.

  • Gorgeous. I love looking for the transition between his being in control of his expression and losing control. Again, just gorgeous.

  • Wow, it's beautiful.

  • ahahahahahaha awesome

  • I saw one of his other videos at the Color Chart show at the MoMA, I wish that video was on the net.
