  • Excellent Vids!, Been draggin' the bottom for over 20 years off the U.S., curious about the size of your rigs we run 140 foot texas drops, and your TED's are the same, hate the product blow by, are there restrictions on the size of drops you are dragging?

Props to the crew also, efficient and proper! Keep up the good work and stay safe.

  • tube you stfu any way dued u need to pic faster than that

  • All those fish on the shrimp boats is one reason the gulf is so full of crabs and other fish.

  • The longer you are out and the more you catch (and can hold), the more money you make.

In a nutshell, how much you make is directly related to how long you are out at sea and/or how much you catch.

Thanks for watching and I hope this helps :)

  • Hey mate, it all depends on your experience and what sort of boat you are on.

Most young fishermen start on a flat rate per night which is usually around $80-$100

With experience you can then get a percentage of the catch, usually around 10%-14%.This means you may be making (on a really good night) $300-$500+ per night!

That being said, some trawlers only operate 2-4 nights at a time, some stay out longer (if they have freezers) and then there are factory boats that do a few months at sea.

  • i know a guy who got about 40.000-50.000 dollars for one fishing trip

  • @raggice I fished the gulf for years the best i did was 45000 for three mths work. not bad ha!!! the only downside was being at sea that long.
