  • Erin, you forget the off balance sheets.

  • Typical leftist control freak. She thinks taxing the rich will cure everything. Go ahead and raise taxes without cutting back spending and it will get you no where. And by the way the we are a Republic not a democracy.

  • @9971explorer

So you are a republic but without democracy? Is this what you are saying?

I though the foundations of USA is democracy - at least this is what was advocated - but again the rules change in a crisis.....

    Not a democracy anymore.

  • Taxing the rich won't get you anywhere if you went back to 1950s tax rates you'd still have a 9 years to pay off the deficit. assuming inflation, panics, among other things will occur.

Tobin Tax 1% on ALL wall street turn over. and Public Credit.

  • No one is more conservative, traditional, right wing (but not crazy extreme) than I am but to Erin Burnett, I wish you'd have interviewed me on the street because I would have told you that I don't care that the taxpayer made money on the bank bailouts. Because I personally lost $40,000 in the 2008 banking crisis in the market. But MY PERSONAL FEDERAL TAXES DID NOT GO DOWN AT ALL. I'm with Klein at least on this one point on Burnetts sarcasm.

  • Oh aren't you smart, Erin, with the banks making money on the bailout. Maybe you can explain why the Fed gave away 15 Trillion or so out the back door, and who is on the hook for it you "Corporate Whore"

  • The fact that she actually says "artificial scarcity" blew me away.

  • LinkTV has the best TV coverage of Occupy.

  • NOBODY KNOWS WHY THEIR PROTESTING???

  • Insiders hijacked it so you must Occupy Wall St. Insiders hijacked Washington so you must be there as well. All together, real reforms come as you expected. We don't need jobs that continuously destroy the flow of our effort for evolving our society. Insiders in Washington and Wall St want to roll us back couple hundred of years where people know no a lot and can be easily manipulated by Jewish naming god languages, but we evolved we are in a modern civilization demanding social justices.

  • Once again excellent and salient content. The Mainstream Media's treatment of the Occupy Wall Street protests is despicable and misleading. Americans must wake up that we have very little "Free Press"...we have an over abundance of "Corporate Press"...that lead the feeble minded and uninformed to embrace their own slavery.

  • Naomi Klein is one of my favorites, smart and she can write the hell out of a book. And for that person on CNN to mock this shows that she is a bought and paid for corporate puppet. Congrats Lyssa for showing truth and for showing one of the great ladies today :D

  • clearly this women giving facts is completely wrong in the numbers as well her take on the protest - she is not one to learn any truth from - nor are the people she works for

  • @Judy101101

merci beaucoup, for your brilliant insights, Marie Antoinette LOL

when i want accuracy, thoroughly educated commentary of depth and substance with objective comprehension of cause & effect in economics ...i turn to someone with partial frontal lobotomy induced deslusions and hallucinations ...promoting her deliberately fictional distortions to apologize for her illustrious "successful producer" Ultra-Conservative Fascist Nationalist authoritarian aristicratic benefactors.

  • @VampiressOnDaProwlq hell I just figure it out myself - best way of learning. All systems are flawed, if they aren't all fixed no problem was ever solved just prolonged until another day

  • @Judy101101

    you're monumentally clueless.

Naomi Klein is an infinitely brilliant longtime associate of mine, in the anti-globalization struggles & protests against the Rich Libertarian Capitalist Ultra-Conservative plutocratic Nationalist Tea Party White Anglo-Saxon Germanic Protestants, like you, the literal actual Mussolini Fascists.

i was referring to you, svinka ignorami nudnik, not her LOL.

you cant rub two brain neurons together sufficient to understand her brilliance.

  • @VampiressOnDaProwlq you know the name you just called me always tells me all I need to know about the person about to speak - usually it's a great description of self while they think it's someone else. so you just introduced yourself to me as monumentally clueless - naturally I wouldn't read what you've got to say-get a clue

  • @Judy101101

no. that's not how it works. you're not making sense. respond to the actual substance of comments and not use cheap deflections.

are you criticizing Erin Burnett? if so, i apologize. if you're criticizing Naomi then my what i said is accurate.

  • @Judy101101 Obviously a name did get under your skin else you'd comment on the subject rather than play the superior who slaps wrists and tell others to be mindful of their language.

  • @GypsyMofakka fox, cnn clearly is the comment I am talking about, 'get under my skin" sorry not much gets under my skin - I'd go insane if I let that happen since I'm in disagreement with all current systems

  • @Judy101101 Then let us hear of your ideal system. Perhaps you could give your credentials, Le us know which school influenced your economic expertise.

  • @GypsyMofakka let me know when you are serious then I will answer - I have zero interest in your drama

  • @Judy101101 Stop projecting and just answer.

  • @GypsyMofakka maybe when you can see your drama you can stop projecting then maybe you will be open to the answer - you just want to argue - the tone and way you ask is closed minded - open minded people don't look like you

  • @Judy101101 Your last two comments are 100% drama. So forget your credentials and finally answer: What is your ideal system?

  • @GypsyMofakka exactly - stop your drama - you with streets smarts asking for credentials - makes you sound like you don't have the cridentials to tell if a good idea is one or not and clearly an economic system can't be explained in a text box - I have a channel - find your answers there

  • @Judy101101

he's not asking you to articulate a college dissertation on economic models. he's just asking what economics you approve/disapprove of.

deregulated Capitalism "Reaganomics" (monopolistic Fascist privatization, austerity & spending cuts) (U.S., Zimbabwe, Singapore, Colombia), State Capitalism (Red China), regulated (Keynesian Deficit demand-side) Capitalism, Social Democracy (Canada, France, Switzerland, Germany) or Democratic Socialism (Sweden, Denmark, Venezuela, Holland)

  • @Judy101101 It is extremely difficult to tell whether your ideas are good or not when you criticize an expert without explanation or detail. I'll not be lured to another channel by someone trolling. If you cannot explain your view point here, then goodbye.

  • @GypsyMofakka now how did I know you weren't really interested - good excuse - I hate trolls spamming my channel so thank you. goodbye - I'll block just in case you can't control your actions

  • @Judy101101

i provided you the economics to choose from, on my last comment, to tell me what you approve or disapprove of.

deregulated Capitalism (Fascism), regulated Capitalism (Keynesian) ... etc look at the complete list and select so we can talk more on what our opinions are, if we share and agree on anything and soo onn.

  • @VampiressOnDaProwlq

Franklin Roosevelt, Henry Morganthau, and Francis Perkins all denied Keysnian Economics because it was "reckless"

  • @Judy101101 & how did I know you couldn't answer the simplest of questions. A troll is one who SPAMS a thread to lure readers to it's own channel/page; Hence trolling like a fisherman. Oh and you are very welcome. Toodles, sweet cheeks.

  • @Judy101101

what are the "all current systems" you are referring to? you like Naomi Klein. koo. i recommend her.

  • @Judy101101

you realize who Marie Antoinette was and the obscenely sadistic rich aristocratic extravagance she represented?

  • @VampiressOnDaProwlq Marie Antoinette was an Austrian princess with whom France fell in love. Eventually some people in France decided that she had to be humiliated and necessarliy executed. I wonder how hate for her could transcend geography, language and history. But I know that the answer is politics and mere time which are two most powerful realities of the world.

  • @Judy101101

did i misunderstand you? were you criticizing Erin Burnett or Naomi Klein?

  • Fuck Erin Burnett in the ear. Fuck CNN, and Fox, and all the corporate tools in the MSM. Elitist, moronic, snobbery.

  • Great video dear Lyssa!Take care girl and big swedish bear-hug!

  • @Lukeor (1/4)

I have read what you said. Don't be so cryptic, spell it out. You have called for the maintenance of the current wealth structure and added the typical libertarian voodoo monetarism. Let's put it in perspective:

  • @Lukeor (2/4)

"In the United States, wealth is highly concentrated in a relatively few hands. As of 2007, the top 1% of households (the upper class) owned 34.6% of all privately held wealth, and the next 19% (the managerial, professional, and small business stratum) had 50.5%, which means that just 20% of the people owned a remarkable 85%, leaving only 15% of the wealth for the bottom 80% (wage and salary workers)." G. William Domhoff "Wealth, Income, and Power"

  • @Lukeor (3/4)

And the reason that 20% of the people now obtain 85% of the wealth in this country is obviously not because the wealthy are taxed too much, but that they have had their taxes systematically decreased over the last 30 odd years. Yes of course we should reduce spending on military adventures and empire, but the revenue problem must really be solved by increasing taxes on the upper levels, and without cutting social programs that at least form some balance in our society.

  • @Lukeor (4/4)

Wealth and income at the top of the structure has dramatically increased over the last 30 odd years while for those in the middle and bottom it has stagnated and even fallen along with the compensation received by these lower groups. "Austerity and inflation on the poor" is a direct result of the shift in wealth upwards that has been happening, not the calls for increased taxes on the wealthy which would reverse that.

  • @Lukeor

The problem is here, that in the time you are referring, almost all the hospitals were publically owned or operated as non-profits. The medical system was never a 'free-market' except perhaps before modern medicine. It was the move away from this and to the profit motive and 'markets' in medicine that drastically increased our costs about the rest of the world's. Health care in not a market commodity, the rules of the 'market' only pervert the delivery of medicine.

  • The top 20% wage earners pay 6% on average. The rest pay 11% on average. These Republican tax cuts during war were unprecedented. Bush should be locked up for the crime of stupidity.

  • @Lukeor No it won't, when an insurer denies "elective" or "non essential" treatments and people can't pay out of pocket, it's allowed to get worse and worse until it's debilitating, life threatening, crippling or fatal.

Emergency care is the most expensive form of care

Canadians just wave their card, get treated don't have to deal w/ a greedy evil pvt sector and are on their way

Americans are told by middlemen that it isn't covered, they get worse & worse then the state pays for it ANYWAY

  • @Lukeor We should copy the single payer or universal coverage with a private OPTION of the rest of the modern civilized countries instead of our braindead system where insurance companies deny neccessary/preventative care.

The other, more civilized countries are morally better than us

  • @Lukeor We have the highest healthcare cost per capita and most of the other "socialist" countries have better healthcare stats +they cover EVERYONE

In America the only people who get between anyone and their doctors are insurance companies....private sector death panels

I guess America is too primitive to be a modern nation

  • @Lukeor Hahahaha oh wow.

I'm the bad guy for wanting the rich to pay more as a % than their secretaries and you animals are the heroes for fighting to remove the safety nets that keep people from starving/dying

You mental midgets never cease to amaze me!

Take your new take on the quote wrongfully attributed to marie antoinette to a place with hicks that are gullible enough to believe it.

  • @Lukeor Yea let's continue taxing the rich at a lower effective rate than wage slaves.

Let's not do a THING about loopholes, let's just knife the poor.....soulless fucker.

  • @Lukeor So we should never adress the revenue problem?

  • That seriously CNN reporter has a husband who is a Citibank executive

  • you may get commercial t.v. to notice your beeping red nose, but soon as you sound intelligent it gets cut. that's why democracy now is so important.

  • The tax payers made no money back then what they lost on the bail outs
