  • starshot; no shit!

    stay on topic if possible--ace

--this site is for reporting the video test on AMD Intel Motorola CPUs period. think man..

  • it says widescreen test not amd test...

  • why are all the hd videos now have the borders on the side like this one..

  • idk. i wanted it to be normal but ofcourse youtube fucks things up

  • Because yougay changed the damn widescreen format again!

  • Ever noticed that a capture from HDTV makes the Pixel Aspect Ratio drop? Were the Pixels will fall down?

  • I dont understand you comment? can you you explain a little more... thanks

  • @kmacc390 I think he's joking

  • WoW COOL HD

  • thank you

  • I think I just watched this video the wrong way...

    &flip=1

  • good trick :)

  • 1600x1020 resolution is better

  • anyone noticed that the video's are really choppy and unwatchable

  • Yes... you do have to have a strong broadband connection to watch HD otherwise it will be coppy

  • Yea I have the same prob In full screen.

  • But what is the aspect ratio?

  • 16:9 widescreen

  • Thank you.

  • ˙˙˙lɐɯɹou sʇı ʞuıɥʇ ı

    ¡¡¡¡ dolɟ dılɟ

  • How do I strech up videos????

    I NEED HELP!

PLEASE IF SOMEONE KNOWS,REPLAY MY COMMENT!

  • you need too make your movie or render your movie as a 16:9 format. I think you have your videoes on 4:3, but make it 16:9

  • I chose teh same EXACT settings and i have shitty quality.

  • maybe he has good quality because there is no movement in this video ;S

  • or maybe you need a HD camera

  • destroying the ozone layer

  • shut up

  • lool

  • xD !

  • I have tried these settings with a longer video and it causes the audio to be out of sync. Kmacc390 can you try a longer video with these settings to test if you have the out of sync audio problem? I think you will.

  • Ha Ha there in NO high quality on youtube, yes there is widescreen but it's by no means 'high quality'.

At the moment they are experimenting with stereo sound.

Look at some of my music video postings i.e Neil Diamond-I am I Said, there is no better quality on youtube, it's just a myth.

  • high quality audio (which i believe is what you are referring to) is bearly known about at all.

High definition audio even less known about by general prosumers. And as long as you are not talking about 5.1ch sending then thats good. However if youtube had a 5.1 optional channeling it would be amazing!

  • lol there is no high quality but YES there is HD in this very video

  • kinda funny some other guy used the same 1411kbps i did lol,my video turned out awesome

  • looking sharp! i tested the new format too, it's pretty sweet.

  • i got 29 fps on my cam,i got software to make my vids 1028x720 and my bitrate is 2000 so i got a watch in high quality button i record in mpeg4z yes a z infront of mpeg4 it means .asf file so i edit and change all the settings with YASA video converter takes no quality away and you can't upload .asf files to youtube i tried so im uploading 1028x720 vids now with a high quality button!no hd i tried just cant do it idk y

  • If ur using a standard date camcorder, Firewire is the way to go. It delivers uncompressed quality as high as your camera can provide.

  • I have no idea why you are not getting the HD option for your video if you have already uploaded them with the settings you have mentioned?

  • i got it working

  • how did you get it to work and what settings?

  • depends i know how to do it in sony vegas and i think in camtasia studio

  • 30p is better

  • Thanks! It is in HD men... If you have some Lags or problems. Just SAVE it to your Computer. How? I've saw it to user "MrPacMan36" videos. just search:

"How To Download True HD 720p and HQ YouTube Videos" in youtube.

    Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1280x720 30.00fps

    Audio: AAC 44100Hz stereo 1411Kbps

    Great men. Please upload more.

  • how come the vid lags on my vid? when its played in HD, my vid lags. it doesn't run smoothly. do u know what the problem is? please reply.

  • I would say that your broadband connection is slow... you need a very good connection to view YouTube at HD setting option

  • If your video is high def widescreen to begin with you can use movie maker to output to xbox high def setting. If it is not you can use a free program called moyea video4web to crop it and output to flash and it will play in widescreen mode.

  • Ok thanks why is CamStudio better also if I use this what do I have to do what settings do I put?

  • Why does it take 13 hours to render a 5 minutes film? HAHA...

  • I have no idea.... maybe you are using a 2pass encode?

  • Yeah, I have Intel Dual Core-processor. How can I do to make it faster? :) Use one process? Thank's for reply.

  • ok I want to record my desktop like with Hypercam 2 How can I upload the videos I make with this program in widescreen is their a specific program I have to use or can use help???

  • use camstudio instead of hypercam.

  • What was the pixel aspect ratio set to? Even though I render out to 1280x720, the final video is distorted or has black bars on the side.

  • pixel aspect ratio: Widescreen 16x9

  • super sweet & crisp image of the close up bushes in the foreground, and superb for low light conditions aswell. I'm hoping for a small HD camcorder for xmas :)

  • cheers michael... lets hope santa is good to you :)

  • I was having trouble, but these settings fixed it. Thank you!

  • glad the info was a help to you

  • i used these settings and uploaded with the bulk uploader but no go this doesnt work for me lol

  • nvm i figured it out!

  • i cant figure out how to use these settings in adobe premiere. could i get a .prexport file?

  • what were you burning

  • it looks like a house, XD

  • David... it was some footage of a factory in Lismore that burned down a few months ago...

  • ok cool it looks awesome

  • well add more ram or better CPU

  • i dont think this video has more than 640x360 pixels, it's waste of youtube space to upload any higher quality stuff

  • Thats not true... if you want to future proof your videos on YouTube you have to upload at 1280px X 720px the least... you may get high quality using 640x360 but it will not render in HD quality... its only a matter of time before YouTube will offer HD, maybe a subscription service or they will monetize it.. we'll wait and see!

  • 1exotic, the same thing happened to me. I tried uploading a 16:9 widescreen video, but it's still not using the full widescreen player.

  • your video must be at 1280x720 resolution or higher with a decent high quality bitrate and a good codec like x264 or xvid ^^

  • your video is still ot sized right it is upsampling something

  • All I can say is I uploaded my video at 1280px X 720px

  • Yeah I'm not saying you did anything wrong it is youtube. I don't know.. I am looking at widescreen vids in HQ mode and then in &fmt=22 mode and they both are at 640 x 360 rez... the &fmt=22 just has a lot more bandwidth but will screw up anything p4 2.8 or lower.

  • I have a 1080p HD camcorder, i upload the video down to my computer over windows movie maker and then i save with it sayig 16:9 acpect ratio... but damn it never will go full widescreen on my youtube, i tried 3 different times using different saving files..

  • What version of windows movie maker are you using 1 or 2 eg. XP or Vista?

  • hey guys i made a widescreen test card!

    watch?v=AxH-rcBe_i0

  • Experimenting with videos I found to view HD videos with &fmt=22 you must upload a video with resolution of 1280x720 or above, video bitrate of 3000kbps or more....I tried XviD,h264 and WMV and all worked, Im sure other formats work to

  • RajmanHDTV... that is correct, you must upload at least 1280px X 720px to make use of the hidden &fmt=22 trick and high bitrate is good...

  • With Adobe, I tried the same settings with an original 1920x1080i MTS from my Sony HDR-SR12 camcorder (resized to 1280x720, 23.976fps) and it looks terrible after YouTube gets a hold of it. I also tried it with StaxRip using the x264 high quality crf 22 setting (mp4, 1280x720, yadif deinterlace) which looked gorgeous when played back with Media Player Classic, but YouTube killed it. No matter what settings I use, they never looks good in HQ on YouTube. Also tried DivX with no luck.

  • Edit: never *look* good in HQ.

  • djtaadow... Thanks for sharing your examples setting here, its only by trial and error that we learn. I watched your latest upload and thumbs up for the widescreen format, its also looks great using the &fmt=22 trick... in normal view it looks a little washed out due to encoding process especially when there is a lot of movement ie. pan & zoom and also vertical lines (trees) the encoder hammers that type of footage...

  • Yeah, I tried the fmt=22 and they look really good. I'm doing some more with different types of footage to see how YouTube handles them. But I'm using 30fps instead of 23.976. I doubt it matters either way, but I'm having better results with 30fps.

  • on the site it says u used..

    VBR, 2 Pass

    Target Bitrate [Mbps]: 6

    Maximum Bitrate [Mbps]: 10

the file musta been pretty huge then noo?

    how many MBs was it..?

  • GamingApeTRAILERS... I did mention on my website that the file size was big for the above YouTube clip it as 24MB for the 33sec clip so based on those settings Id say it would be around 45-48MB per minute... not huge but still big... hope that helps

  • Why has YouTube not posted any official guidance on the new 16:9 player? They just threw it in and left everyone scratching their head and having to experiment to find optimum encoding settings.

Do they not have enough money to hire someone to write a help file?

  • Hi.

What video bit rate did you use please?

  • TheEvilOfScientology... I used these bitrate settings as follows:

    VBR, 2 Pass

    Target Bitrate [Mbps]: 6

    Maximum Bitrate [Mbps]: 10

  • Thank you.

  • How do you change to H264 in windows media encoder.

  • JRLZAGS03... I dont think you can use H.264 from within windows media encoder,I use a free encoding application called "Mediacoder" iPhone Edition, search for it on web and then I normally use that program to encoded to .mp4 using the H.264 codec also in the effects part I pick De-interlace (Linear Blend) that usually works for me... hope it helps

  • Thanks for the help.

  • your welcome

  • Thanks so much for the info man!

  • Glad the info was of use to you....

  • Thank you! I had uploaded video after video trying to produce a video like yours and I went by your dimensions and it work. Just curious though I first entered 720 by 1280 and it turned out to be portrait but when I tried 1280 by 720 it came to this video size and worked. I am using Sony Vegas.

  • what settings specifically did you use in sony vegas?

  • I used .mov for the file type and just used a custom size (1280x720)

  • HabbosAUS... my apologies I had the settings for width & height the wrong way around... I have corrected the settings now... thanks for pointing that out... I have noticed that YouTube have not updated their help info for this new widescreen format so we all have to test and share the info for now.

  • Rockin'! Thanks a BUNCH for this info! =)

  • what would be the best compression to upload to youtube? I tried 720p with h.264 before they upgrade to widescreen and it was ugly.. I'm going to give it another try

  • JBLanteigne... I use a free encoding application called "Mediacoder" iPhone Edition, search for it on web and then I normally use 640x480 encoded to .mp4 using the H.264 codec also in the effects part I pick De-interlace (Linear Blend) that usually works for me... hope it helps

  • what are the official size settings - you uploaded yours at 720p - do they need to be this size?

  • nice. love the new widescreen.

  • thanks... yes I like the new widescreen format... saves a lot of time in preparing video for youtube
