No, I believe they are typical. Social conservatism is a cancer to mankind; it has existed as a simple fault in the structure of our minds ever since we did. It takes time for such a disease to be eliminated. Our intelligence enables us to do it, though, as we were able to establish governments.
Extremism is just a word that defines an ideology far off from the mainstream of the current day. People who believed in Evolution were once considered extremists. Still are, to many.

I am a true red liberal. By heart. I believe we have an obligation to care for every individual who contributes to society. I believe that anyone who contributes should be able to pursue happiness, not just survival. I believe government has an obligation to promote this kind of society.

I think dems and reps are both as useful... as in, not at all, but I think the far right like you hurt the country more than any lefty has with that line of thinking.
