  • i hated that the driver wasnt able to mash on the gas straight through but at 0:46 and on, he got a chance to let the trans change like i like it

  • this video brings back some awesome memories. i'm from LA and MTA used to run these on the #2 line on Sunset Blvd. The bus would be packed in the morning, and going uphill between Benton Way and Hillhurst by Western was a treat... but the L10 never let us down.. just chugged along, turbo whining away. :)

  • Ahhh...music to my ears! I lived in Nashville up until three months ago, and I have fond memories of the fine "Flxies"...522 was my favourite! Now, all we have are these GAGs (god-awful Gilligs). Bring back the 500s and the 700s! 705 is still on the MTA property, although the paint has been stripped off and the numbers painted over. I think the 500s were sent to Nigeria to help establish a new transit system there. Transitphreak, what routes do you ride on?

  • well dawg i use to ride on tha 8 8th ave south and tha 12th ave south alot before i now have my car but i didnt know they still had 705 on tha property. lol my aunt drives for mta nashviille but u know most of all im diggin tha gag part lol lol. i know those were truely tha dayz when they had the 500z and the 700 and tha older rts 900z

  • lol why was 522 your favorite? i remember when 534 was leavin from downtown and the bus was blowin diesel like crazy i wanted to be tha one pressing on tha gas dat day

  • 522 used to have this awesome black and silver paint job...black background with silver musical notes...it was advertising WPLN FM 90. I still have a picture I took of it about 10 years ago...gorgeous!

I used to ride the #3 and #12 before I left Nashville...and I ended up marrying a bus driver :)

  • Ain't that some shit? Westchester county Bee-Line's last 10 or so Flxible Metro-Bs had the same exact package, but was retired in 2001 due to I dunno WHAT.

  • also...try over seas in the UK and China. Leyland Lynxes with L-10s and Voiths sounds jus like Flexibles along with MCW Metro Bus double deckers and LeyLand double deckers.

  • it just isnt the same, lol

  • yea dats true. Cant nothin replace the sound of an L-10 powered Flexible Metro.

  • OH MY GOD!!! DUDE!!! Our Flexibles here in Cleveland sounded jus like those!!! Awesome shit!!

  • You should video some of them.

  • unfortunately the last L-10 powered Flexible was retired 2 years ago.

  • Miami Dade Transit Buses also had the same engine.

  • We used to have the same type of buses here in South Bend,IN. Same type of bus, same type of engine.

  • bus number 5745-5764

5745-5754 had the 5 speed transmission sound

5755-5764 had the 3 speed transmission

  • That L-10 sounds HOT!! Nice footage man!

  • That sounds like the Cummins engine. I forget the model though. we have a few buses here in chicago with that sound. 40' Flxibles with either the 3 speed sound(like this one) or the 5 speed sound

  • Cummins L-10 CELECT. In some buses, the ole skool M-11 sounds almost like an L-10...specially with a Voith. What's the CityBus system run in?

  • we have the nova buses, the new flyers and the long new articulated buses...i tghink those are called novas...wait, lemme think. we have CTA buses....chicago transit authority. old tmc's flxibles are still out also

  • NIce footage, Ray! What are those Flxes packing?
