You can tell that they have listened hard to a Yazoo song and deliberately copied the phrasing of Alison Moyet and tried in vain to imitate the keyboard wizardry of Vince Clarke but alas. A major weakness is the song endings, simplistic lyrics, thin vocals, predictable chords and over reliance on software synths. However its better than 90% of todays pop as its based on an 80's blueprint. At least kids might now appreciate how good the 80s were.
