I am currently staying in Legazpi City, Albay. It rained the whole night and right now it's getting stronger.. It is not yet flooded, but if the typhoon will hit us (-> the strong winds, rainfall is already strong..) I know it will be disastrous.. And I won't be spared either.

We are supposed to have our first-friday-mass in the school today - and we were all asked to bring donations for the victims of the last Typhoon in Manila. Now it seems like we'll need donations.. :(

When i read something like that i get angry. It is not the presidents fault. Its OUR own fault. Pres. Arroyo is doing as much as much as she can already, but she can't do everything..

Our fault? Calamity is nobody fault. Although it is the government job to keep us safe from natural disaster. There is NO ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN DUMP, even we use a trash can and have the garbage truck pick it up, they only dump it at the open landfill. Which is as bad as throwing it at your own backyard.

i know what you mean bro but the only thing is there was no warning. they lacked coordination with the disaster council, armed forces of the Philippines and local government units and none LGUs. they took everyone by surprise. If you were the Captain of the ship will you sacrifice lives of your passengers by moving the ship? it should have been better to release and flood metro knee high everyday than flood it more than 3 storeys high and killing a lot of people and living a lot homeless.

This is a very detailed explanation of what happened. Thank you, unfortunately most Filipinos watch local tv stations who are worthless in forecasting weather and giving warnings. For example, a TV personality from ABS-CBN named Kim Atienza. No background at all in Meteorology, when he reported about the typhoon before the tragedy happened, he spent more time explaining different names of bitter melon. Philippines need to change the law and put expert meteorologists in reporting weather.

I almost cried when it came on the news (ABS-CBN) one of the rivers in the Philippines got flooded and it was like floooded!!!!and the people were on the bridge..and there were around 5 teenagers on top of something and were floating down that river..the river was so fast and they hit the bridge and they went under, and the people on the bridge tried to save them but they all went under..and found 2 bodies under the bridge the next morning..RIP..please not again..
