"Overpopulation" is a myth. It's "overcrowding" in limited spaces and places which is one reality. It's "overconsumption" by the privileged few which is the other reality.
theoritically you are right. But can the privieged few will "distribute" their wealth? Even catholic-owned land and properties can't be distributed and these hypocrite church fanatics help only in words.
What's your beef against the Catholic Church? No other single organization feeds more hungry people in the entire world. How is that "help only in words"?
Get your head straight, those "land and properties" are what allows the local Church to carry-out their ministry. What would "redistributing" them be good for? Turn the Church FROM an organization who COLLECTIVELY OWNS land to help the poor INTO one which RENTS to do the same? Which equals LESS for HELP?
bakit mahirap ang pinas? ano ba ang religion ang nagdomanite dyan? Italy, Spain, Portugal mang-aagaw ng mga bansa based on history. Today all churches catholic or not, should pay taxes. All catholic churches walang transparency sa kanilang money. Mga pare't madre de kotse, mga sikat na hotel pa magmeeting kuno para makatulong sa mahihirap. Maglelead pa ng welga samantalang sa loob nila may malaking corruption.
Pinas is poor because of corrupt businessmen (who don't pay taxes) and politicians of all stripes (who don't allocate what little taxes are collected but instead pocket them). I know these to be facts because I'm heavily-connected like that (i.e. to the tune of I can call certain Senators "Tito" and get away with it).
Not because of the clergy, speaking of which, did you know the Vatican has been running a deficit for the past several years? Transparency? Hah!
one of us has duty to protect the environment... nagtatapos tayo ng basura kahit saan, we are producing a lot of babies khit di natin kayang buhayin, we are using smoke belcher cars w/o minding na nakasasama sa kalikasan, government corruption... matututo tayo d2.
It also the government job to CONTROL LOGGING, PROTECT OUR OCEAN , FISH AND WILDLIFE. But instead, politician and relatives are mainly doing this kind of problem FROM PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTRY TO THE BARANGGAY KAPITAN TO THE KONSEHAL.
Rice crops in Phillippines got damage and more likely the price of rice will go up and Typhoon NILLO will be the next storm on watch. Its not over yet.
I am currently staying in Legazpi City, Albay. It rained the whole night and right now it's getting stronger.. It is not yet flooded, but if the typhoon will hit us (-> the strong winds, rainfall is already strong..) I know it will be disastrous.. And I won't be spared either.
We are supposed to have our first-friday-mass in the school today - and we were all asked to bring donations for the victims of the last Typhoon in Manila. Now it seems like we'll need donations.. :(
Recycling, saving electricity and the likes are the long term solutions. I hope every human being would realize that we need to lessen the causes of global warming.
pres. Arroyo what shall you do now....your country people are now suffering... will you have the resources to ressolve this..this may be a lesson learned..President Arroyo help your country this is all that matters now....may long live the filipino....
When i read something like that i get angry. It is not the presidents fault. Its OUR own fault. Pres. Arroyo is doing as much as much as she can already, but she can't do everything..
In my opinion God punishes us for what we have done - and for what we are continuously doing. This is my first time experiencing a Typhoon.. and all I can do is pray and try to prepare as much as possible.. I wish the whole world would realize what is happening. Not only the Philippines :l
Our fault? Calamity is nobody fault. Although it is the government job to keep us safe from natural disaster. There is NO ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN DUMP, even we use a trash can and have the garbage truck pick it up, they only dump it at the open landfill. Which is as bad as throwing it at your own backyard.
I am not attacking volunteers. I do appreciate if you one of them. although It is MATTER how much to give them. ALL donation are from individual to assure the victims are feed and not so,so.
My point is every time there is calamity in the Philippines, victims get a bag of food FROM VOLUNTERS AND DONATED BY PEOPLE to survive that moment which appreciated. The government declare State of Calamity and put millions of pesos from txpayer but don't see any family been help to rebuild their house.
It sure does gave me some goosebumbs. It is really bad specially it hit Manila. so a lot of bussiness establishments got affected with this tropical storm. Rich and poor really got the a whip from mother nature. From Idaho U.S.A we are all praying for you guys in the Philippines.
Those who are always trying to put blame to the government, please think over, this was nature's not people. When nature speaks no politicians, no money nor power from anyone can take over. Politicians are also human, they sure got rained on too...
in behalf of all the filipinos in the world we would like to say thank you for all those who are helping us from recovering from this kind of tragedy... thank you for giving us foods & cash... again thank you... god bless you..
Too bad. instead of investing for the security of people the poticians pocketing the money so tha's the result. Develop the roads, buy calamity needs, have an iron hand so that the people will learn. It's because of our democracy the people have no fear, in other country the peoples are obeying their law so the results a clean and green.
