You know people are pretty dumb some times......a 6.7 cummins with ALL the deletes are alot more powerfull than a 5.9 because of the simple fact that they have MORE displacment! Make sense? Good!
the 5.9 is great but the 6.7 is better the same thing but a little bit more how could you not like the 6.7 take all the crap from around it and you have got a great truck!!
It's not the exhaust brake, it's the VGT turbo. Usually VGT turbos will make that sound through the exhaust when the veins are changing angles to adjust to it's current atmosphere (warm up, under load many factors). I have a LLY Duramax and it does the same, varying on how I drive it before and after.
@Twiztd230 wtf it is the jake break my cousin has a 2008 6.7 and it sounds pretty much exactly like this, even on high idle it wouldnt whistle like this unless it was a after market turbo,,, its the exhaust break so fuck you bud

my 09 did this to me yesterday mornin at the fuel pump i pulled up put her in park for what ever reason i hid the ex. brake and it hissed like a son of a bit i tried doin the same thing later on and nothin man that sound is intimidating i want it to come back haha does it only do it when in its cold ?
i have 5inch to a 6inch tip dumped out in front of the rear tire and a smarty jr. me

Well in account also that the dumbasses at Cummins (which are awesome guys btw) got rid of the 5.9. I waited on a 5.9 6spd MT for months. Finally told them to forget and got me a 6.7 6spd. But I love the damn truck

i have the 2007 5.9 and iam currently argueing with the dealer on the price of a 2011 3500 single axle 4x4 larime with all the emisions shit on it. with that bieng said how hard is it to have removed. also thats a beautiful truck!!! the one im lookn at is the same color except the biege bottom. once again beautiful truck!!!
now that i chipped mine with the dpf still on, it goes into regen about once every 30 minutes!! The edge juice cts tells me when its in regen. Its annoying, definately gonna straight pipe it asap!!!

@foxregulator actually if you have the high idle on with the exhaust brake active it will make that noise. ive been working at a dodge dealer for a few years and have played with many of these
@foxregulator Yeah it is, the vgt basically cuts off exhaust flow turning the whole engine into a compressor tank. The hissing sound is exhaust leaving through the much more restricted turbo, it sounds like a compressor.
Great looking lift, Excelent choice in color. lol. I am just going to do a 2" leveling kit and just stuff some 33-35"s under it and powdercoat the stock wheels. I'm not a baller like you.
@linemanup I have an 08 also. it sucks. at 68k miles, the turbo went out and needed a turbo and a dpf. once the warantee is shot in 25k miles, its getting the toilet tube taken off and a 5" tbe!
@linemanup and its just as easy to take off the 6.7 is a bored out bigger version of the 5.9 so its just that much better when you take off all the extras on it
