I've Played Starcraft 2 and Age Of Empires 3. Both were really good game. Although I have to admit i got bored of starcraft 2 like in 2 months. Age of Empires 3 was really fun and never gets old.

Why play this when starcaft 2 is out? better graphics,better more deep thought in the plot,cool extras like in game arcade machine,excellent voice,pick from 3 totally individual races with hundreds of different ways too build your base and troops...and its a frontier we havent already seen so its full of intrigue and mystery,i would say age of empires is yesterdays news but,its more like a few hundred years ago eh? still,id play it if starcaft and c+c didnt exist,or i couldnt get them,so,ok.:)

@OMNISLASHER1000 LOL say what you like but even AOE2 is AGES ahead of starcraft in terms of complexity and the amount of skill it takes to get good. The resource system is far more complex (twice the amount of resource types, twice the strategic complexity), the tech tree is more diverse, the counter system is much more refined, and the list goes on. I'm not a huge fan of AOE3 but if AOE2's gameplay was ported into AOE3's engine (or better, SC2's engine), it would be leagues ahead of starcraft.

can anyone help me? Is there any way to disable units? not in Map Editor but in every skirmish. Because once you start playing hard computer, in late game the com starts to mass canons, which can deal devastating damage against my units. The thing that made the canon or siege weapons balanced in other games was the "minimal range". But in AOE3 canon crews can reload and aim a canon at record speed WHILE getting hacked by dozens of enemy bayonets at the same time = =''

@Fiercerock100 well kinda but you dont take over cities your just in a land with other country people and then you make a main builiding and then you build up an army with horses and guns and swords. theres no cities its just open land and the computer is making towns too so you have to invade them and have war with them

The gameplay is fun and the graphics are amazing, but once you reach the colonial age you kinda' have limited options, you can't build any additional buildings, instead you just keep training units and increasing your resources. That is the only let-down in it.

But the good thing is, the game has 2 more expansions that make it a lot more fun, I especially love Asian Dynasties, not only because I'm Asian, but because it's hella' fun too.

Remember, graphics don't make the game.

Too complex games are usually played by very small amounts of people.

Simple games like Starcraft and AoE:1 are teh best.

Graphics don't hurt either. Who told you this game was complex? You can spend some time making strategies, but there's only really 5 divisions of unit types. Doesn't mean it's simple, but anyone who's played aoe1 can pick it up.

AOE1 and 2 had major balance issues. Skirm rushes, tower rushes, monk rushes, knights not having a good counter. Teutonic TC 0_o

SC is fine ~ though T has a weak early army in team games which is a balance issue.
