do you think even with just the primer these are more powerful than the average pellet gun?

They are more powerful than the avg pellet gun...but when you start talking about 20 grains + .22 pellets at high velocities, then that is a different story. These are only rated at 500fps with 20 grains.  But a a typical .177 pellet rifle will not do more damage than this round even at high fps.

End Result = The 20 grain solid point bullet penetrated both water bottles and almost penetrated the coffee can. The bullet then bounced off the can and went about 15 ft... after recovering the projectile, it had only minor scratches and scrapes on the lead. This leads me to conclude that these will not expand in small varmint, however they may tumble and yaw once entering the animals tissue and organs.
