The only gripe I had with this game was the camera angles.Other than that,it was about the best Terminator game I've ever played.I still say they should do another one like this,but make it a sandbox style.
this game was different from all the other games because it was more into the war than the rest and told and showed how they sent reese back through time but i had fun with game when it came out
This intro has that feeling and ambience of Terminator 1 and 2 that all fans of Terminator wants to see. Loved the storyline too. The only think that bothered me was that the Terminator wasn't the "Arnold model" and maybe the soldiers outfits. But everything else was epic. And talking about the movies,T3 was crap, TS was a very good movie but I think Cameron should take Terminator again and make a new movie a REAL sequel ignoring T3 an TS as well.
@shadowupper i would like more for a precuel like this storyline, yea terminator down of fate made as a precuel terminator film, that could leave T2 as the absolute ending and making T3 and TS non cannon

@TheRome111 Indeed, they had lasers, particle and plasma weapons in the first movies, and the endoskeletons were nearly invulnerable, especially back in 1984 were you couldn't even dent them with the weaponry at the time.
With the last movies Skynet's tech becomes weaker and weaker.
I wonder if its because all of its hardware seems to be basically modified versions of what it started out with in T3.
I love this game.. and that robot that came in the lab looks so scary.. the first time i played this game and saw him i cried cause i was 9 i am now 13 :)
in terms of story, this was probably the best terminator game they ever made. the characters and voice acting combined with a nice non canon future war plot really did a nice job of tying of the films as a sort of prequel to it all.
@legendarywar1 this game does serve as a official prequel to the films but the films are the alternate timeline in the Terminator universe originally John Connor was never warned about Judgement Day he was never trained for the war and was never protected by The Terminator he began the Resistance on his own and when he learns that Skynet plans to go back in time to kill Sarah Connor to change the future, thats when the films come in as John explains in the games intro
i watched T1 as a kid, T2 as a teenager,and T3 as an adult. The first one : i didnt know the plot. My dad explained it as him (he didnt told me the name of him) created a robot to protect people,but the machine had gotten crazy. I really dont know the plot of the T1
@6425gorda you still don't know the plot of T1? will if you must know, the skynet defense network decides to eradicate humanity by initiating a nuclear holocaust, blah blah blah, then in the future they realize that the leader of the human resistance against skynet, john connor, can more easily be eradicated by sending a robotic assassin back in time to 1984 to kill his mother, therefore preventing his birth. to prevent this, john connor has sent his most trusted soldier to protect her.
@BeyondLame Look into The Terminator on Sega CD. That was pretty good. Dawn of Fate wasnt bad. Could have been better, but it could have been a lot worse too.
The ways of the Terminator time line are confusing because this is a future that doesn't happen anymore but it did happen. Connor shouldn't of tried to stop Judgment day it because it's made the story confusing. That and if Judgment Day hadn't happened John wouldn't exist because Kyle Reese wouldn't go back in time and had sex with Sarah. So Confusing.

I love the way they had captured the Terminator. If you watch the films and then the way the Terminator reacts and moves in this cutscene, it's almost identical. Utterly amazing. I wonder why the other terminator games couldnt be this good?
If Connor can stop Skynet from sending the first T-800, he can stop the war. While he will never be born the world will be saved. If the first terminator never arrives in 1984 it won't be destroyed. In turn Cyberdyne won't discover the remains. In turn will never reverse engineer the cpu to create Skynet. At least in theory the war can be prevented.
They need to make a awesome Terminator game for Xbox 360, not a cheap one like the Terminator Salvation game. A awesome, realistic game, that features a entirely different Resistance Squad. Instead of John's. :L
I personally loved the asylum level, when you enter the big hall type room, with the crimson sky outside illuminating the room slightly, that bit was beautifully done. The game is a classic, great story line, excellent animations, brilliant gameplay. If only the T3 and Salvation films wernt made, and instead made a third film with this storyline, looping back to the start. That would've made the whole franchise even more legendary than what it already is.

Yeah Kyle is the shit in this game and i use Connor and the other characters and i unlocked everything with the metals that you get. But They won the war even before they sent kyle reese, But then everything started over since Alexander stone switched on the back up systems that was in outer space and now the future war continues and i forgot what time line skynet just gives up and shuts down for good.

From the primise in the opening text in The Terminator states that the final battle with the machines will be fought in the past (present when the film was released) also kyle told silberman "their defense grid was smashed we'd won taking out connor then would make no difference, skynet had to wipeout it's entire existence" meaning that SkyNet wagered it's existence on a gamble that an infiltration unit would prevent a eventual successful human victory.
@infernai Same. I always like to think that T3, T4, and T: SCC were all in timelines where blowing up Cyberdyne didn't matter, but apparently a lot of other people don't want to accept that. That's fine, though. Heh. According to James Cameron, T2 was the end of his story, but that doesn't mean other people should stop the story he told. Maybe they wanted more insight, so they told their own.
@RevanRA I always like to think those things weren't even created. TS (T4) was a lot better than I expected, but not as good as I wanted it to be. I thought T4 would be about the SKYNET death camps, and the actual birth of the Resistance, as mentioned by SGT Reese in T1. I think the real T4 would've been better as T5, with T4 being more like Schindler's List. T3 was just plain garbage, the timeline broke all logic and formed paradoxes that make me wanna puke. And T-X? What a gay sci-fi name.
@infernai Each movie is based on an altered reality because a Terminator or Rebel was sent back to warn John and protect him. Take the TSCC series for example.
@infernai it may seem that way but they're not....the timeline was probably affected because of the events from T1 and T2:like the terminator arm being found and then destroyed before the war and john and sarah trying to prevent it....these events modified the timeline and so came T3 and Salvation's setting....but that may be just me ^^
My only grip is the ending is WRONG (well the date as well, it's 2029 when Kyle is sent back, not 2027) both the T-800 and the T-1000 were sent back one after the other. Skynet is then destroyed forever as told by Reese (the game has SKYNET backing itself up via a satellite).
Reese is then sent back and then the 2nd T-800 then the TDE was destroyed and that ends the war. T3 and Salvation are full of shit.
Actually,they weren't necessarily sent back to back, and Kyle doesn't KNOW for a fact that John won the war. All he knew was that they had achieved a major,possibly war-winning victory which involved taking the "time machine" laboratory/factory. So Skynet COULD have backed itself up,the T-1000 stuff happening at a later date.
The question is this. Are the events that happen supposed to happen or can they be changed?
In each movie the character learns more and more about his future. For example in the T3 he learns when he will be killed so does that mean John Connor can escape from being killed?
In 1984 when the first movie came out there was limited knowledge about the internet and personal computers. Today it does make sense that Skynet, a thinking and logical machine, would make a backup copy of itself and place it someplace where the humans would not be able to find it.
The sattelite's p[osition was probably not in Skynets main memory banks so the humans would not know it existed and would not be able to take it out. The sattelite was preprogrammed to download a new copy.
Used to have this game. Then it got a huge deep scratch. First level wasn't playable. Had to use a cheat to unlock every level. Then it cracked. Sad face.
I used to love playing this game when i was like 8, still i think it had a better storyline than terminator salvation because this game sticks to the original terminator storyline.
@hwahid8 well, i accept your opinion, but what i didn't like, was, that in T3 john connor had shit of almost everything... it's not that john connor i knew from T2... and in salvation JC was almost the same again.... :)
@TomeeDee86 I see what you mean. In T3, John was very reluctant to accept his destiny and aside from a few scenes, he really didn’t have that ambitious leadership quality he is suppose to have. In T4 he definitely had more of those qualities, however I DIDN’T like Christian Bale’s performance which surprised me b/c I love the guy. However I would have been more pleased if T3 and T4 never existed and just have the story end at T2 cuz that movie is brilliant.
I think T3 and T4 should exist, just not as actual sequels. They're good movies that stand on their own, but T3's message, that the war is inevitable, contradicts T2's message. And tbh, you know T2 is right since it has the same message as Doc Brown.
@hwahid8 As much as I like Terminator Salvation I hate Terminator 3, so I agree with you, I think they should've made a Terminator movie that was about the war before the Terminator and the Connors changed the future in Terminator 2.
i like terminator very much. even the new part. not the best part of the movies, but great. marcus is cool :) but this game looks boring :( i heard that you can choose between 3 players.
and it was aweful... hard to install, nobody to play w/ online, and an overall bland and boring game. Your better off playing halo and pretending its terminator lol...
The new Terminator Salvation movie did not follow this story I wish it did follow this game had a great story was bad ass when I first got the game I still have it I beated the hole game on hard so I could have the cheats I think it is so cool to play the game with cheats did you know this game has a glitch you could play as any person without unlocking them all you have to do is select one & save setting to memory card.
the new movie was like,12 years before this,so,the bad shit didn't happen,actually,they unleashed the T-800s ten years earlier than in the original timeline,so now,the resistance will start to get their asses kicked
it all started with the us army trying to build a machine that would watch terrorist movement, they did build it and before they connected the machine with the internet it became self aware and then it started the war on humans with the robot soldiers the army had built in the compound
i get this part , but in the third movie (?) the chick bot is the one who actually infects the system with the virus that makes skynet self aware . basically it all happened because of the terminator from the future .... its this part doesn't really make sense to me
its a cycle time-line... its supposed to make you think. But for you to understand the awesome story line, you should watch 1 & 2 also... T3 is irrevelant, you dont even need to see it to watch the superior T4..
I don´t think it was the TX that made Skynet self aware because they already had problems with Skynet before the TX infected the T-1s(Wich I guess was just a trap for Arnie, connor and his future wife)yes I´m a nerd^^
I remember this game! I played it over and over, it was the best Terminator game ever. Always loved using Kyle and Luna. Perry, with his R-6 PAK rocket pistols, wasn't so tough. XD

Cristian bale cannot play John Connor.
Eric Bana and a dozen other actors who's names i cant remember would do a better job.
Cristian bale still spoke with Batman voice.

A bit odd that Connor considered Reese only as "back-up plan". Shouldn,t he be THE PLAN. If they,d stop skynet in time, Connor might never exist.

I refuse to accept anything past T2 since James Cameron himself has said that is the end of the story.
I am not acknowledging T3 and Salvation as Terminator films or part of the series.

SKNET was offline in 2029 in the original timeline. It's even mentioned in the T2 script, and Kyle says We'd Won.
They won the war before sending Kyle back.

From the primise in the opening text in The Terminator states that the final battle with the machines will be fought in the past (present when the film was released) also kyle told silberman "their defense grid was smashed we'd won taking out connor then would make no difference, skynet had to wipeout it's entire existence" meaning that SkyNet wagered it's existence on a gamble that an infiltration unit would prevent a eventual successful human victory.

I think the reason for the date changes is the fact that at the end of T2 they delayed judgement day, which was confirmed in T3.

Doesn't change a thing. SKYNET was completely offline in 2029, Reese has confirmed it and so does the script for T2.
SKYNET lost the war. It doesn't make a backup.
Now, for the other comment, T1 nothing changed it all happened as it was suppose to.
T2 changed it so the war can't happen and has been said by Cameron himself to be the end.
T3 and Salvation are shitty money grabs which I would like erased from existance.

@infernai Same. I always like to think that T3, T4, and T: SCC were all in timelines where blowing up Cyberdyne didn't matter, but apparently a lot of other people don't want to accept that. That's fine, though. Heh. According to James Cameron, T2 was the end of his story, but that doesn't mean other people should stop the story he told. Maybe they wanted more insight, so they told their own.

@RevanRA I always like to think those things weren't even created. TS (T4) was a lot better than I expected, but not as good as I wanted it to be. I thought T4 would be about the SKYNET death camps, and the actual birth of the Resistance, as mentioned by SGT Reese in T1. I think the real T4 would've been better as T5, with T4 being more like Schindler's List. T3 was just plain garbage, the timeline broke all logic and formed paradoxes that make me wanna puke. And T-X? What a gay sci-fi name.

@infernai it may seem that way but they're not....the timeline was probably affected because of the events from T1 and T2:like the terminator arm being found and then destroyed before the war and john and sarah trying to prevent it....these events modified the timeline and so came T3 and Salvation's setting....but that may be just me ^^

This is evidenced by the original film script for T2 it mentions this fact and the end of the war with SKYNET.
The reason it wasn't shot was simply due to lack of funding and time.

My only grip is the ending is WRONG (well the date as well, it's 2029 when Kyle is sent back, not 2027) both the T-800 and the T-1000 were sent back one after the other. Skynet is then destroyed forever as told by Reese (the game has SKYNET backing itself up via a satellite).
Reese is then sent back and then the 2nd T-800 then the TDE was destroyed and that ends the war. T3 and Salvation are full of shit.

Actually,they weren't necessarily sent back to back, and Kyle doesn't KNOW for a fact that John won the war. All he knew was that they had achieved a major,possibly war-winning victory which involved taking the "time machine" laboratory/factory. So Skynet COULD have backed itself up,the T-1000 stuff happening at a later date.

I liked all 4 movies but that's okay.
The question is this. Are the events that happen supposed to happen or can they be changed?
In each movie the character learns more and more about his future. For example in the T3 he learns when he will be killed so does that mean John Connor can escape from being killed?

In 1984 when the first movie came out there was limited knowledge about the internet and personal computers. Today it does make sense that Skynet, a thinking and logical machine, would make a backup copy of itself and place it someplace where the humans would not be able to find it.
The sattelite's p[osition was probably not in Skynets main memory banks so the humans would not know it existed and would not be able to take it out. The sattelite was preprogrammed to download a new copy.

@TomeeDee86 I see what you mean. In T3, John was very reluctant to accept his destiny and aside from a few scenes, he really didn’t have that ambitious leadership quality he is suppose to have. In T4 he definitely had more of those qualities, however I DIDN’T like Christian Bale’s performance which surprised me b/c I love the guy. However I would have been more pleased if T3 and T4 never existed and just have the story end at T2 cuz that movie is brilliant.

I think T3 and T4 should exist, just not as actual sequels. They're good movies that stand on their own, but T3's message, that the war is inevitable, contradicts T2's message. And tbh, you know T2 is right since it has the same message as Doc Brown.

The new Terminator Salvation movie did not follow this story I wish it did follow this game had a great story was bad ass when I first got the game I still have it I beated the hole game on hard so I could have the cheats I think it is so cool to play the game with cheats did you know this game has a glitch you could play as any person without unlocking them all you have to do is select one & save setting to memory card.

it all started with the us army trying to build a machine that would watch terrorist movement, they did build it and before they connected the machine with the internet it became self aware and then it started the war on humans with the robot soldiers the army had built in the compound

i get this part , but in the third movie (?) the chick bot is the one who actually infects the system with the virus that makes skynet self aware . basically it all happened because of the terminator from the future .... its this part doesn't really make sense to me

its a cycle time-line... its supposed to make you think. But for you to understand the awesome story line, you should watch 1 & 2 also... T3 is irrevelant, you dont even need to see it to watch the superior T4..

I remember this game! I played it over and over, it was the best Terminator game ever. Always loved using Kyle and Luna. Perry, with his R-6 PAK rocket pistols, wasn't so tough. XD
