oh... kangding.... 4 hrs west u can already get to the land above the clouds - my definition for the tibetan plateau. the first stop in the tibetan world could be tagong, but i would recommend to go further to ganzi, manigango, dzogchen cross to qinghai and visit yushu and more - there is so much to explore there and foreigners are totally free to travel in this amazing world that hardly gets any tourists.
