i got this same bike in the video, i believe a 99 R1 and I've had mine up to 180mph got stage 1 jet kit and scorpion exhaust and had to back off cuz my exit was coming up real fast, but i think it still had more to go! My cousin also has a 07 R6 Akrapovic slip on and Power commander and he tops out at 174mph! both of us have stock gearing also!

The R6 is NOT a 180 mph stock bike. Low to mid 160s are all you'll get going downhill. Ask YOUR local Yamaha dealer. Your cousin is either lying to you, or has an R1, not an R6.

The crown vic's that most state cops can drive can do 140, but at least in NY they're not allowed to chase more than 30mph over the speed limit, so 95. A crappy Neon can go that fast.

DEC cops on snowmobiles have RX1's or Mach Z's, but I have yet to encounter one that can really ride. Find some rough and hammer down, they can't keep up

I have had a 06 r1 up to 174mph it would get up to about 165 quik I also had a 03 r6 and couldnt get it to pass 158mph on the speedo which we all know showes high in the end I like my r6 I could race it every were shifting gears the r1 was the best bike I have owned but I wasnt as fun no point in shifting until 100mph regretfully It is retired from a patch of sand I drove almost every weekend only had that issue one time but i will always wounder how fast i could have went on it.

That is definately miles buddy, if you've actually ridden a sportsbike, you'd know that bikes like thr R1 or Gixxer do over 160 kmh in first, yes, kilometres, this bloke is winding through the gears (all 6) I have had my 00 and 01 R1s up to 285km/h and my 07 up to 295kmh with pull still left in 6th.
