why is my family so poor! my aunties are really rich and the rest of my family, but our part are just poor people! i wish i was rich! anyway are these specs just enough to run it? please reply!

i'm not sure about your GPU, but the processor equals a 2.9 dual core (OK), Ram OK, Hdd OK, you should try

ohh! sorry, my mistake! one of my mums friends is an expert at computers and he said to me that ati radeon graphic cards are the same as nvidia, its just that they have different names and numbers (that is what i think it is). anyway, also can you do a gx2 mod for like half-life 2 or fallout 3 or any other games? and (final question) can i run my computer on high or ultra using the mod?

I don't know the equivalences between Radeon and GeForce, but I belive radeon hd 2400 pro is AGP... I THINK it would equal a GF6200, so it won't work... sorry

Nah regular Doom 3 isnt though to max out to the extreme.

As always, John C made a amazign engine. I could pretty much max it out at 1280x1024 with my old 6800Ultra back in the days.

Now a 8800GTX or higher is enough to play this mod maxed. And I mean with EVERY possible filter in the Nvidia Control Panel enabled.

well my 9800gx2 drops to 35 fps with 16X AF and 16X AA and ultra quality at 1680X1050 res sometimes, so I don't see how that would be possible to max it all out with all these new features

Its a lot about your CPU and RAM as well. Even the HDD matters at some points.

And of course the clock speed of everything.

My system is pretty much overclocked as far as you can get without liquid nitrogen.

But still, a 9800GX2 should give you a solid 60 frames at these settings on regular Doom.

My 8800 does, even when is not overclocked.

Sounds to me like a CPU or RAM bottleneck. Or maybe your chipset doesnt like SLI very much, Intel anyone ?

hmm well im running a wolfdale 3.16 with 4 gigs 1066. my friend has the same core and is running 2 9800 gtx's in SLI and had the same problem @ 16AA X 16AF. We both have to lower settings to 8X8 so I don't kno. Pretty gay either way for a 4 year old game

Must be something with the GX2 drivers then. SLI often creates issues and sometimes ends up slower than a single card.

I run it with x16 AA and even every other filter in the Nvidia Panel.

With a single 8800GTX, over clocked or not.

Your CPU and RAM should be more than enough also.

I have a Quad @ 4Ghz but the engine doesnt make use of Quad Cores, so I dont think thats the reason why.

It must be either the chipset or not very well optimized drivers from Nvidia for the ID Tech 4 engine.

New things are EXTREMLY improved graphics such as high resolution textures, dynamic lightning, HDR, increased bump mapping....

Improved rebalanced gameplay, better monster stats and such, to make the game more scary.

New sounds and ambient music.

New mainmenue.

I cant possibly list everything, it changes a LOT.

Ouch. Well I added more options to the mod, it lets you turn on and off almost everything. You could probably tweak it down this much now to play it, even on your system. It would look like crap, but you'd still have the new scary gameplay, the sounds, the new scripts and modded AI...

The GX2 Mod is a modification for Doom 3. It has nothing to do with the Nvidia GeForce 9800GX2 videocard.

The Nvidia 8400GS does not even have 1/5 of the performance of a 7900GTX. There is no possible way you are gonna be able to play this mod with it.

Already cause it neeeds 512MB its not gonna work and thats by far not the only importnant thing about a videocard.

You will most definetly get about 10fps average with that kind of hardware. 512MB RAM already bottle necks normal Doom 3.

The x1300 will never run this thing smooth, no matter how low you go with the resolution. You need at LEAST a 512MB GPU.

Sorry, no chance with a 8500GT. Even the 8800s struggle a bit sometimes...

The 8500GT is about equal to a 6800GT, maybe even slower. You couldnt run this mod well at all with it.
