I repaired 3 of these just by replacing the 2 smaller capacitors on the main board.. it was really easy and now I have a set of 3 matching 17" lcd monitors! w00t!
I have the same problem just my screen is black and the lighst on that thing is off all time. so i hear tick tack sound from the speakers, and just sometimes my screen works know how i can fix?
You need a new inverter (or two) go to Google and type in "Free LCD Monitor" click the first link, that tells you how to fix a Dell 1702FP (ironically, I use the same monitor). If you do not use a Dell 1702FP identify your model number and look around. Or, send the monitor to me for uhm... "proper recycling" ;).
P.S. Thank you for the video. I have been going nuts trying to figure out why I was getting this issue. It started out slowly and then became worse and worse. Dried out capacitors makes total sense. Damn Dell.
Dell's ass sucks canal water. Sorry, I can't think of any better way to put it. After puchasing scores of computers from them, now we get to talk to India. Their response? Did you try another monitor? Sorry, it's out of warranty. Can it be repaired? No, we don't do that.
i have one of these but i dont have the power adapter, can someone send me a link so i can buy it ? i live in london ...
